L1 Blanket got approved
I had interview on 30th Dec at Mumbai consulate. Following were the questions asked:
1) What is your specialised knowledge
2) What programming languages your systems are developed
3) How long are you married ? (asked to my wife)
4) What is your client and are you going to work at IBM only or at client place
5) What the XX abbreviation in your project name stands for.

He approved the visa.
I think if you are from a reputed company then interview is just a formality. Just answering the questions confidently will help you get through it.

L1-B visa got approved
Hi my visa got approved on 30th of dec, I had great experience going through the phase....you wont believe I actually took print out of all the 36 pages in this forum, so that I can read it before going to sleep at night. So this was basically my bed time story for the past few weeks, I would imagine me entering the door getting the documents signed answering the questions....blah blah...what am trying to say is although I've never been inside the chennai counslate, I almost knew where to go next after each step....and that really helped me a lot in boosting up my confidence...I should thank the site for that...
My interview hardly lasted for 5 minutes...and the officer was keen and particular in knowing my salary structure and ' SPECIALIZATION ' skills...I answered them and thus my visa got approved...

My personal advice for all those L1 B aspirants is go thorough this site completely...although most of it are repeated advices and tips to succeed in interview...they are the facts which will get you thorough....
 ALL DA BEST!

Cheers!

Hi, Thanks to everyone who had posted their experiences. Prior to my Visa PA I went thru every post carefully and prepared set of questions with answers. My interview was scheduled at 8.45 AM and I reached there at 8.30 AM. Quickly finished all formalities and walked to the place where the US officials will conduct the interview. I was actually very nervous and tired of full night travel, but never showed up on my face. Actually I was acting hard to be normal ;)... Finally went to the queue and observed others while they were interviewed. A female US officer was literally rejecting VISA's for almost everyone. I become more nervous, then GOD came to save.... Suddenly a guy came to us and asked to moved to Counter 7... I went there and the officer asked below questions..
1. how long you have been in ur present company.
2. Who is your client?
3. What module you work for?

I answered all above questions confidently and finally after 30-40 secs silnece there came the GOLDEN words.. You VISA has been approved and will courier to the specified address... I said Thank You and walked off...

Please be formal and yeah wear a TIE it gives you good feel... All the best... Keep praying.. Thanks...

L1B Blanket Approved
Hi

I would like to thank all of you for the sharing your valuable experiences.

I got a tremendous help from this site while preparing for my Blanket Interview.

My interview was on 22nd Dec and it was as long as 8-10 mins. The VO in Kolkata consulate is very logical. He makes sure you have the right knowledge as per your visa category.

Here are the questions he asked me:
1. Where in US are you going?
2. What is your project all about?
3. What are the specialized knowledge/tools are you using in your project?
He noted down the tools name and verified them from his end. He asked me to spell some of the tools as well to verify them properly.
4. Why exactly your company selected you for this assignment?
5. Were you trained on these tools?
6. How long was the training period? Was it full day training for how many days?
7. How much over all experience do you have and How much of them with the current company?
8. Where were you working before your current employer?
9. Is your spouse travelling with you? If not why?
10. How long is the assignment? I said 3 years.
11. Why this is such a long asignment?
12. When your project has started?
13. When have you joined the project?

After this he took three 129 forms and signed and stamped on them as approved. He kept the passport. He returned me two 129 forms and told me to carry one of them while travelling and submit one to your office.

I was really surprized after such a long interview. But I thanked god that I got it approved.

Blanket L1B granted at Kolkata
Thanks to this site for the excellent help we get through the forums and interview experience sharing.

I did my engg in Electrical with around 10 yrs IT experience in big Indian companies with multiple bisiness visit exp. to India.

I went to Kolkata connsulate at 8AM. It was first slot there. Unlike Embassy at Delhi, here in Kolkata not many people was there in the queue. After initial security checks we were asked to sit at a open space (with tin shed)just before entering main building. Once our token number called, we entered main building. Here VFS guy checked papers at first few counters and in another counter finger prints were taken. Last two counters were for VO interview. All counters are in same row unlike Delhi where papers checked before entering main building.

Interview was short. Not many questions asked by VO.

Me: Good Morning, How are you ?
VO: Morning , I'm fine (smiling)
VO: handed one white slip to me..here is your receipt sir
me: thanks (put that slip in my folder)
VO: (was looking at my earlier business visa issued).
VO: looking at my petition copy.."who is your client" ?
me: YYYY YYYY systems
VO: which systems ?
me: repeated the same name
VO: oh is it YYYY company ? who manufacturs YYYY too ? [he was referring some common product by clients parent company which is MNC giant]
I was determined not to say anything extra but took this opportunity to ease the conversation. I said "yes they manufactures a,b,c too".
VO: (approving smile) yes
VO: whats your total exp ?
me: X years
VO: how many years in this project ?
me: XX months
Vo: came near to glass and asked "whats your specialzed skill" ?
me: bla bla skills with companys tool
VO: I don't understand any of this skills
started typing something..I was tensed for few mins
VO: are you married ?
me: yes
VO: your wife is not going with you ?
me: no, not at this time
pause for a few secs, other VO from next window came from behind with some document ..they were in discussion for about a minute.
VO: (took my petition again) and asked "how much total exp you said" ?
me: X years (around 10 years and this question was for the second time..I could smell some decision he is going to make now)
VO: "and how years YYYY implementation experience" ?
me: last 5 years
VO: (he said something and started wrtting on the right side of my petition).. I was so tensed inside that couldn't understood what he exactly said but hearing the last few words clearly i.e. within 2-3 days and his stamping on the petition, immediately within 2-3 secs delay..understtod that he just said the golden words.)

VO: two copies of petition handed over to me.
me : Thanks a lot. Have a nice holiday ahead
VO : you are welcome

He was a true gentleman. He issued visa to some other applicants in front of me. But two guys who caught my attention at the main entrance only due to their dress and attitude..probably rejected as I was saw them retuning back with gloomy faces.

My tips to all that dress well in formals and try to present your case in a professional manner. Never say anything extra but during interview VO may 1-2 judgemental questions, answer them confidently. Also pray to god and always show a smiling confident face.

I just got L1B visa stamped and my B1 for 10years is also there.
