Need an urgent help
My B1 was rejected in Oct 2016 under 214(b).
I have aplied for l1B Blanket and it got rejected in July 2017. The VO has stamped as “Not clearly approvable”. VO Mentioned at the end, without handing over any slip – “Sorry Sir, your visa is not clearly approvable for L1 Blanket. L1 Blanket has some strict rules. There is no problem with your skills, ask your company or HR to apply under a different category”
Following are the questions asked,
1. Good morning Sir

2. Have you ever applied for Visa?
• Yes, in October 2016 my B1 got rejected. I was handed over 216(b)
3. How long you have been in this company?
• 3 years 4 months
4. What is your highest Qualification?
• MBA in Marketing Management
5. What will be your designation?
• Business Development Manager
6. What will be your salary in the US?
• XX, 000 USD per yr
7. Where will you be working in US?

• I was instrumental in establishing our proprietary process that is the xxxx delivery model to few of our clients and my deep technical understanding of my company’s PDLC Processes are my specialized skills.
12. Can you tell me something about this technology?
• Sir, this Is not a technology, but this is our Proprietary xxxxx Offshore Delivery model.
• Basically, we use this model to deliver efficient engineering services to customers in the U.S. by leveraging our development centers and engineering infrastructure in India.
• This model has a unique communication and project monitoring methodology which we achieve from the four pillars. Explained all 4 pillars
(Explained for 5-8 minutes to explain this, without any interruption by the VO. I was very passionately explaining this and the VO was staring at me till the end)
Response by VO - Good.
13. How are you going to implement this in the US?
• As mentioned earlier, I would have to travel to Client side to understand their technical and business issues, basically their pain areas and putting together a business objective.
• I will return to our office in xxxx, MI, and put together a proposal which will include the xxxx org structure, phased engagement implementation roadmap, map our resources to the client skill sets, put together a communication protocol, escalation mechanism, engagement governance model, define business operating metrics and the costing. I may also seek help for this proposal from my Offshore team mates who are reporting to me.
• I would have to discuss with the client further for mutual agreement of this proposal.
• Negotiate on the costing, win the business and this is how I am going to implement this.
A long pause by VO and I got a surprising reply from the VO (stated earlier)
Now, I am confused:
As stated earlier, The VO Mentioned "Ask company HR to apply under a different category of L1" - Different category is L1B Individual or L1A?
Please help if I should I apply under L1B Individual or L1A Individual?

L1A Individual Approved after RFE
Hi,
First of all would like to thank immihelp for the plethora of information provided which is really useful for 1st time applicants like me.
Would like to share my VISA experience on 07th June 2018.
My company had applied for L1A Individual for me under premium processing on 05th Feb 2018 as the client wanted me at the onsite location immediately.
On 7th March I got an RFE stating that my position cannot be clearly defined as Managerial. Had to put in two weeks of massive hard work to collect all relevant documents to respond to RFE.
Responded to RFE on 28th March and got my petition approved on 17th April.
6th June: Biometrics
It was uneventful. Only thing i want to add is that you can carry your cellphone with you but need to keep it switched off. No other electronic devices allowed not even digital watches.
7th June: Interview
Reached the center before time waited anxiously in line.
It was difficult not to get nervous as the VO just rejected the couple before me saying clearly not approvable.
VO started with basic questions:
Which VISA Type?
Who is the petitioner?
Who is the Client?
Which location will i be travelling to?
Designation?
Annual Salary?
Role?
This is where it got tricky. I started explaining and he stopped me mid way saying this cannot be correct. Can you please elaborate. I clarified his doubts but he still looked like he wasn't totally convinced.
He kept on typing looking at his computer and then he took my passport and i797 and went inside. When he came back he kept on typing without saying a single word.
Finally he gave me a Black pamphlet on National Human Trafficking and told me to read it carefully so that my company does not abuse my position in the US. Your VISA is Approved.
In my opinion and from what i have heard from my colleagues, if an individual petition is approved there is very little chance of rejection unless there is a major mismatch in the information provided.

L1A Individual - I797 original Vs Copy for Visa stamping
Do i need to bring I797 original for L1A visa stamping ?. I may not receive the original by the interview date, but i already have a copy of the same received over email. As per the instruction given in immihelp, it clearly states that original is no longer required as the consular require only copies of 1797 and I129. Please confirm on the above procedure

L1B Individual - Administrative Processing - Passport retained - HYD
Hi All,
I would like to share my experience which happened on May 30, 2018.
Basic Questions:
1. Company Name
2. Designation
3. Salary
4. Place in US
5. Highest Qualification
6. Specialization.
After the set of questions, VO said that they could load my petition and said that it will be put into Administrative Processing and retained my passport. And she said, keep an eye on the visa status and if any documents are required we will be approaching you by mail and reply back to it.
Don't know what is happening around. Any previous experiences as such?
Just having small hope and praying to God.

0) If you are going with driver, then ask your driver to wait for you on the same road towards the dead end.
1) Keep only appointment confirmation and passports with you.
2) For kids, keep their visa size photo graph.
3) Go just right at time of the appointment. No need to go early even 5 minutes.
4) This gets completed within 15 minutes in Chennai.
Interview:
1) If you are going with driver, then write his mobile number on a piece of paper and keep that with you.
2) Keep credit cards and some money like 100, 50, 20, 10 with you.
3) Bring all the necessary documents that your company provided to you and salary slips, appointment confirmation, barcode, passports.
4) Go just right at time of the appointment. No need to go early even 5 minutes. Even if you are late by 10/15 minutes, do not worry. Go to the entrance gate, and guards will help you.
5) In the summer season, wear half shirt (cotton) to prevent sweat. Drink some coconut water before entering the gate to keep you refreshed. There is water inside. No need to take water with you (they don't allow)

Lost Passport with valid VISA stamped
Hi Guys,
I am currently in the US on L1A, I lost my passport, with valid L1A visa stamped till April'2019. I know how stupid I am, but its a long story and don't want to recall how I lost it :(
I have received a new passport from NY consulate, now I have to travel to India for some urgent work in Mid of July. I know i need to get my VISA stamped again.
My Questions are :
1. Do i need to get my dependent ( L2, Wife and Son) visa stamped again?
2. Anyone applied for lost/damage visa, how was the experience
3. What are chances, is it same as applying for new VISA?
I am in trouble I know if something goes wrong, i need to settle and plan for my belongings in USA

L1B Individual Approved in Mumbai

I would like to thank all in this forum who shared there experiences and its my time to share mine. I applied for L1B Blanket and got rejected in August 2017 in Chennai, as VO mentioned the visa was not clearly approvable. The questions however was simple like:
1. Are you going to client site?
2. Who is your client
3. Where are you going to work
4. Explain your specialization.
I did my best to the extent and answered to my knowledge. However I feel people travelling to client site on L1B Blanket has a narrow scope. After rejection as usual I got dejected. But as in the other experiences this was not the end. So I explained my manager and he asked me to work on Individual process.
We started L1B Individual process in Oct 2017.
I submitted all the docs to our attorney in Nov 2017.
We got an RFE in 10 days as ours was premium processing in Dec 2017. But this is where the test begins as I saw in many of the experiences. The rejection during RFE is the last hurdle, so I gathered all the information I could about my project, my experience, my presentations.With the help of our attorney I reviewed all the docs. I took almost a month and submitted the RFE documents by Jan 2018 end.
For some reason attorney took its own time and submitted the RFE response in Mar 2018 end. And then comes the waiting period In next 10 days I got the Petition Approval mail in Apr 2018.
We scheduled an appointment on 21st May 2018 in Mumbai.
The rest of the process was straight.
18th May Biometric: I reached with my wife on time and the process completed in 15 mins.
21st May Interview: We reached an hour early but got entry once our scheduled time has come. It took 15 mins to reach the interview window.
VO: Good Morning!
Me : Morning Sir.
VO: Give me passport.
Me: I gave both the passports.
VO: (Continuously typing and looking at computer) after 1-2 minutes asked : What are your US duties?
Me: I explained in 1-2 lines.
VO: You going to client site?
Me : This was a trick question to tackle. I explained client location and mentioned in detail about the client - my parent company relation.
VO : After a long pause asked How long you working with XYZ?
Me : explained.
VO : Finally the Golden words "Your VISA is approved"
Me: Thanks Sir ! Have a good day.
So after an year with lots of up-down finally its done. It all depends on your chance, your preparation, eligibility and your confidence. Irrespective of your previous rejection if you are eligible then noone can stop you. Wish best luck to all the aspirants and thanks again to all who helped.

Later we checked with the attorney and decided to move with the Individual petition with Premium Processing. We have filed the petition with as much as documentation we can and clearly attached the evidence as well.
Things to be attached for evidence:
Awards, Certificates, Specialized knowledge certificates, Support letters, Complete tenure payslips, training you had or gave, PPT, wiki's you wrote, a detailed letter of work you have done and it's impact, and the work you gonna do in the US and it impacts, show the $ impact.
My Petition has got approved without any RFE and waiting next for the Interview.

L1 A - stamping
Has anyone got their L1 A blanket visa re-stamped in Delhi, India?
For first time I know you need to go to Chennai for L1A VISA but wanted to check for renewal/stamping.
