OCI Card

Hello All,
I have just submitted my OCI application today. Hopefully tomorrow morning it will get delivered to CKGS center. For me New York Center.

Please help me to answer the followings

1) Expected date that I will receive my OCI card on my hand
2) How fast New York center process, whats the timeline they take usually.
3) I have a upcoming travel plan in early March Dates, Should I able to get my OCI card within my travel date or I have to go for VISA.

Below are the timelines for my son's OCI card process. 71 Days in total. Please let me know if you have doubts/questions and I will do my best to reply on time.

I shipped all documents on 10/26/2015 and received the OCI card on 01/04/2015. Total of 71 Days, counting only workdays - it is 44 Days.

I did send an email to CKGS, MOIA New Delhi and Houston embassy requesting them to speed up the process if possible; Not sure if they did - as I had booked tickets to travel to India. It was very close to the travel date and thankful to CKGS, MOIA and Houston Embassy.

? It took 31 Business Days for New Delhi office to process, verify, issue & print.
? It took 1 Business Day for New Delhi office to courier it to Houston Embassy after printing.
? It took 5 Business Days for the OCI card to be ready for Match-Up
? It took 2 Business Days for Houston Embassy & CKGS center to complete the match up process & ship it.
? It took 2 Business Days for me to receive it through FedEx courier purchased from CKGS.

My son travel date is 17th January. And still we are waiting for my son OCI card. His OCI card was dispatched on 29th Dec and it's in transit. My son and my wife are going to India for 3 months.

My question is: If I take eVISA, which is only valid for 30days. Once they reach India, they send the Passport back via courier. Then I collect the OCI and send the OCI and his US Passport via Post. He stays for 3 month. Will there be a problem?

My doubts are: 1.)When he come back will there be any problem at the Delhi airport as when he came he showed eVISA and when he is going back he is having OCI card.

2.) When I send the passport to collect the OCI. Will there be issue because the passport will have Arrival stump but no departure stump from India.

Below are the some of the points to be noted.
Use CKGS courier
Call and Esclate it your status is not getting changed
If there is no change in your status for 8 weeks means send an email to [email protected] and [email protected] seperately.
Call the support and ask them to escalate to their superior and request a call back.

I applied for OCI card of my son on 7th Oct and it's dispatched on 29th December from MIOA Delhi.

Our travel date is 17th January and it's Sunday so we have to get the OCI on or before 15th January.

When I am calling the CKGS they are are of no help.

Can someone guide me what should I do. Should I wait OR should I go ahead and apply for tourist Visa?

Please give me you suggestions asap. I don't have much time. I already tried calling Embassy in DC and email them, and it was of no use.

On Government of India website, it says that OCI card is dispatched on 29th December.

Do I have any chance of getting the OCI

I will report details of my oci experience in few days but I just want to know when you prepay for return of your passport after passport match up they return it through fedex.
How many business days does it take? Due to new year and weekends after that I am concerned that I might not be able to get it if it takes more than 2 business days.

I am completely frustrated and disappointed with this process. I am married to an Indian and we have a 2 year old son. On June 19, 2015, my husband and I submitted packages for my son and I to receive OCI cards. My son's package was processed by CKGS and the Consulate in Washington, DC right away and sent to Delhi. My package however, sat on someone's desk at the Consulate until I called in both late July and August to find out the status. I was told that it made it to the consulte on August 5, 2015 for further scrutinization. My son's package was finished processing at that time and was on its way back to the USA from Delhi. My son received his OCI card by September. Suddenly, after my repeated calls in both September and October 2015, I was told that my package was finally sent to Delhi in October 2015. Everytime I asked why my package was held up, CKGS could not offer me any information or answers, they simply kept referring me back to the website which has no updates on my package. The site still to this day has no information on my package being sent to Delhi. The last update was at the consulate in August 2015. It is now December 16, 2015. Our now cancelled trip was planned for August 2015. This has been a horrible experience for us and I now suspect that my son's document was processed immediately because despite being an American citizen like me, he is half Indian. I have no further information on the status of my OCI card and the money that we paid to have it processed. CKGS is of no help and the Embassies make it difficult to reach anyone there who would have answers. Here is my tracking trail below:

- There is nothing else tracked on my application since August 2015. This is terrible. Has anyone else had a similar experience to mine? At this point I don't know when I will ever get my OCI card.

Posted the application on 2nd October and received the OCI by UPS post on 14th December. About 10 weeks processing time. No hassles anytime. Got the Notary done for free at a bank where I have a checking account. Indian govt. passport site is prompt in updating the status. You don't have to wait for the Match up email.

OCI Matchup requirements:
1. Orig passport
2. Status report page print from Indian govt site which shows the 3 dates of printing, dispatch and received date. No need to wait for email.
3. SFO OCI match request form available on CKGS website. Signed by both parents. Mode of submission is the postage details used to send them the passport. Mode of collection is how we want to receive the documents. I have sent a UPS return label when I submitted the application documents in October.

I sent my OCI renewal on 10/15 and status shows Application is under process. I am travelling on Dec 21st and I am sure I will not get my OCI then. What are my options? If I apply for 10 years visa should I get it by then? Or should I apply for eVisa? I will be travelling to Hongkong too for a week while in India and eVisa only allows one entry, do I need to apply it again while coming back from Hongkong? Any input will be appreciated.
