Some tips and NY CKGS Reply:
1. Used Courier service for sending passport for match-up and for delivery of OCI and Passport back. It works out good.
2. Sent the package initially with one set of documents on 19 OCT 2015 and 1 Photograph. Used FedEx standard Overnight express delivery, using FedEx Envelope. Payment was done online.
3. For Minors: They need ID proof from both parents: State issued driver's license or Utility bill (water,electricity,gas), If only one parent has the documents for address proof than you need to also enclose the copy of the marriage certificate. The copy of Lease Document needs to be notarized. (NY CKGS Reply)
4. For sending documents via mail: You need to send 2 sets of signed and ticked checklist and 1 set of documents. (NY CKGS Reply)
5. Parents need to sign on behalf of minor for self attestation and notarization of the documents should be done as per the instruction given on the checklist on CKGS website. (NY CKGS Reply)
6. Both the parents need to sign on behalf of minor for self attestation and notarization is not required on the PIO card.
7. If the Minor is born in USA than Sworn Affidavit is not required. (NY CKGS Reply)
8. Match-up request: The minor kid's signature / thumb impression must be taken on the Match-up form, parents signature has to be below the signature / thumb impression of the minor applicant - although there is not much space there.The Match-up must NOT be notarized. The original PIO card and the US passport of the applicant needs to be submitted only during the match-up process once the OCI card is processed (NY CKGS Reply). They prefer courier/mail for match-up rather than walk-ins.

My pursuit of OCI - Timeline.
Hi, It seems my application took longer than 2 months (60 days or 6-8 weeks). After a very long wait, I finally receive the OCI Card, from NY CKGS. The only new thing is the U sticker is no longer stamped in the Foreign Passport, just the OCI Card with the Foreign Passport Number imprinted. CKGS has done a very good job timely response and communication, even though the whole process took longer than expected, Im happy that there were no mistakes in the OCI card, in comparison with my previous bad experiences with Indian Consulate. Good luck to all of you whose application is still under process.

Please find below the OCI experience for my son (infant) @ Washington DC. It took 91 days to complete the processing. Passport is at CKGS now and expecting to get the passport in hand tomorrow or Monday.

I also sent an email to embassy requesting the same.There was a delay in reaching my documents to CKGS due the Thanksgiving holiday. CKGS & Embassy did their processing quickly.

Oci time line confusing
I am confused by the emails I am getting from CKGS. Today (12/01/2015) I received an email saying OCI card is printed and transit to US and it will take 1-2 weeks. When check the status online, the date corresponding to this update is 11/19/2015. I am confused as to when the OCi card was printed and dispatched. Is it on 11/19 or 12/01.

NY - SFO
My daughters PIO was applied at SFO. I had moved to NY jurisdiction when i applied for OCI.
My experience with NY was good, they were very prompt in answering the questions. SFO took more than 2 months for verification for the PIO they issued. CKGS - they need to improve the service..takes likes 3 days for processing to handle the application...at EVERY stage.
More than 3 months for me. Good luck for you all.

OCI application process
Hi, all,
I was pleasantly surprised by the OCI process at CKGS, which completed in about 53 days. See progress status below. Here is a summary of my experience. I had submitted the application last year on October 23, and I had missed one document, which they told me submit by Nov 7th, which I did. Because of some internal confusion in their handling of my application, I was notified on December 27th that my application deadline had expired and that I needed to apply again pay the application fee once more. I was furious -- they had delayed the process and now they wanted me to pay again. In any case, my travel was imminent and I did not file again last year. I also got my application fee refunded by complaining to my credit card company.
This year I applied again on October 7th. I was sure to meticulously follow their document list and submitted everything in the exact order in which they require the documents. I am glad to say I received my OCI card today. This time, their status emails kept me informed throughout the application evaluation process. Perhaps they have finally streamlined their processes after the numerous complaints by man y people filed against CKGS last year for their extremely poor administrative processes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the OCI process at CKGS, which completed in about 53 days. See progress status below. Here is a summary of my experience. I had submitted the application last year on October 23, and I had missed one document, which they told me submit by Nov 7th, which I did. Because of some internal confusion in their handling of my application, I was notified on December 27th that my application deadline had expired and that I needed to apply again pay the application fee once more. I was furious -- they had delayed the process and now they wanted me to pay again. In any case, my travel was imminent and I did not file again last year. I also got my application fee refunded by complaining to my credit card company.
This year I applied again on October 7th. I was sure to meticulously follow their document list and submitted everything in the exact order in which they require the documents. I am glad to say I received my OCI card today. This time, their status emails kept me informed throughout the application evaluation process. Perhaps they have finally streamlined their processes after the numerous complaints by man y people filed against CKGS last year for their extremely poor administrative processes.

OCI Match Up Form
Hi All,
Have been reading the forum to understand the OCI process pretty much everyday and its been very informative for first timers like me..Have been searching for details regarding OCI Match up form but I could not get the required information. Could some please clear out my below concerns:-
I got an email asking to send the OCI Match Up Request form. I understand we need to send the Original Passport, Payment Receipt and the Match Up form. In the form they have mentioned duly signed, Does that mean the form needs to be notarized?
Application is for my daughter. She is 4 months Old. Do Both parents need to sign the form or my daughter has to do the fingerprint. or One parent needs to sign?

Timeline for foreign spouse application
Hi,
I am planning a trip to India with my spouse. I have applied for an oci for my spouse.
How long does it take for a foreign spouse (not Indian origin) application to be processed?
My application still shows under process, While the consulate general (not American) website claims 30 days, my application has been under process upwards of 50 days.
