New OCI application at SFO
Just sharing my application details so far:
Application sent to VFS: Jan 19, 2021
US passport received back: Feb 15
OCI document printed: March 12
Dispatched from MEA (OCI): March 16
Still awaiting for the OCI to be delivered to me. Called the VFS call center today since it has been almost a couple of weeks. Apparently, the OCI card gets sent directly to the SFO consulate, the Consulate processes them in bulk and then gives it to VFS for the shipping. Once VFS receives it, it will take only 24-72 hours for the card to arrive at home. But how much time the Consulate is expected to take to process (after the OCI is printed/received from Delhi) is not known.
Will update after the OCI is received.

OCI Renewal - Minor - Questions
Hello Everyone, I am working on applying OCI Renewal for for my 5 year old and came across below questions. I have india trip plan in May hence few questions below.
1) Do i need to send CURRENT OCI Card to VFS?
2) I read somewhere that now Current OCI Cardholders can travel to India with their OLD OCI and OLD US Passport till JUNE 31, 2021. Is that CORRECT?
3) Is the OCI Renewal process also will take couple of months?

NY VFS OCI Application
Sent all documents in the first week of march.
Sent 3/2
Nothing for 3 weeks, it also has original passport US passports.
Looks malicious, when another country holds US passports for close to 4 weeks with no notification.
Planning to notify US Passport office about the indian VFS acting on behalf of Indian government is up to something which might not be good.
Todays' date 3/27 : Need to travel to india in prioritized basis requested escalation, No response
$400 gone to the wind, Passport gone god knows where.

Emergency Entry Visa CGI NY
Hello,
I mailed in an Emergency Entry Visa application to CGI NY which reached the consulate on March 15th but have not received any response/passport back yet. I am requesting the visa based on a serious illness of a family member (not death). Today is the 9th business day. I have left several voice messages on PRAMIT helpline, a PRAMIT query and even tried calling the Emergency hotline number. Does anyone have a recent experience with the Emergency Entry Visa with the NY CGI that they can share with me? How were you able to follow-up on your request if you did so? How many business days did it take you to receive your Emergency Entry Visa?
