OCI new adult application: Govt form
I'm applying for new adult OCI. On govt form ask for " National identification number"? Is it SSN #? It's doesn't have mandatory * sign; so confused what to put or to leave it blank?
Any suggestion would be appreciated who already filled the form?

OCI return labels - Fedex delivery Manager
Hi Everyone,
After the oci application is submitted I got only one label to send the application. So I wanted to be informed about the passport return I went ahead and subscribed for fed ex delivery manager, I saw two return labels created but the from address is showing my address and to address is showing vfs address. Not sure what’s happening,.
Any one else is facing this issue? Please help . This VFS is so so messed up things.

VFS website is messed up
Below is my experience. Still waiting for resolution
1) I submitted the VFS online form for New OCI.
2) Prior to submission it said total bankers cheque needed is $308.90 (this included passport return courier charge for $15). I was shipping documents by UPS and providing prepaid return label for UPS as well
3) On final step (after entering bankers cheque number) it changed total charge to $293.90 (reduced by $15)
4) Called customer service and they said to resubmit VFS application and reissue new bankers cheque for $293.90 + send prepaid UPS return label for Passport return
5) Now the VFS account DOES NOT allow me to create new application as it says "customer already exists and application is submitted"
this is such a nightmare..
6) I am going to give up and pay for VFS FED ex.. does anyone know what is the total payment for when you buy shipping from VFS? Is it $15 for each shipment ?

No update from VFS, SF

While all of the above is happening, I never received any update email from VFS nor is there any update on the VFS track your application page. After some horrendous experiences with previous consular service providers used by the Indian mission's in the US, VFS doesn't fail to keep the standards low like their predecessors. Well, with the operations manager being the same person running the show when at Travisa, BLS, CKGS, and now VFS why would it change!
Is anyone else experiencing the same at VFS, SF?

2/26 - Documents sent to VFS through pre-paid (from VFS) label through Fedex
3/1 - Fedex Delivered to VFS Houston
3/8 - We have ‘Received’ your Application and your application is now ‘Under Process’ at Houston.

3/10 - Fedex delivered and its Passport of child & 2 physical photos (they kept none except that attached to govt from )
3/10 - VFS status still shows "Your application is being verified and currently under process at the VFS Indian Consular Application Centre"

Couple of things to NOTE-
- You write your address in plain sheet of paper (half of A4 paper) and submit it along with the application. These are for return of your US passport and later your OCI card. Return Label is generated by VFS but it's best to have these "address sheet" regardless.
- When in doubt send more documentation rather then less.
- Submit the document checklist along with the application. In addition submit the proof of payment to VFS. The link for checklist is here-

- Not sure if you need to submit any endorsement page in US passport as there isn't one. Nevertheless scan/print and send endorsement pages

OCI for Minor - entry visa
Hi All, how many days/weeks typically it takes for new OCI card to get ? I see processing times listed as 5-6 weeks but here in this group I see taking more than 2 months. If it taking more time, then kids have tourist visa already but that visa is suspended for travel to India, can I still apply for entry visa(which is allowed for travel) , if yes what's the procedure and how many days itt takes ? Please let me know.

OCI Minor fresh application - doubt in physical form photo and signature requirement
Hello Friends,
I've submitted OCI Minor fresh application on the gov website and I have downloaded the online form to send it to VFS. According to the new minor VFS checklist, I have to stick physical photo and signature(thumb impression) to physical form but when I downloaded the gov form, digital photo, and thumb impression is already printed. So should I stick a photo on top of a digital printed photo and how about a thumb impression? And the Printed digital photo is not 2 inch * 2 inch so should I stick 2 * 2 photo on top of it?
Please help me with how to fulfill their requirement?
