Hi,
Can anyone share their experience for NEW OCI card. I want to know the time frame, it has been 5 weeks since I applied and my case status shows the application forwarded to embassy. Does it take more time than renew of OCI card. I applied for my son renew of OCI and I got his card within 4 weeks, but still waiting for new OCI card.

Hi,
My application was received by VFS on Jan 12th but I have not received any acknowledgement from them.
How long does it take to get the acknowledgement?

New OCI card at SFO
My OCI was printed on 4th Jan and dispatched from MEA Delhi on 5th Jan. The Govt Status shows it has not yet received at SFO. VFS status says "Your application has reached the embassy" which is not helpful. Has anyone received any better update or OCI that has been printed on or after 4th Jan?

Submitted application but not shipped documents to CKGS
Hi,
I have submitted the OCI application in govt. website and linked it with CKGS. I also paid the fees of $350 to CKGS. I could not ship the documents due to my visa issues.
Now that I have all my documents, I see that CKGS is no more active.
How do I cancel/withdraw my application and get a refund from CKGS so that I can start a fresh application in VFS?
Please suggest.

Here is a timeline from OCI card Renewal
1. 23-Nov-2020 : Filled and Sent the application to VFS.
2. 28-Nov-2020 : Received acknowledgment from VFS
3. 03-Dec-2020 : Wanted address proof and I sent them.
4. 17-Dec-2020 : application sent and received at Embassy.
5. 14-Jan-2020 : OCI number generated and card printed.
6. 15-Jan-2020 : Application is at VFS for processing,.
7. 18-Jan-2020 : Application has been sent to Embassy for Decision making. Again?
I am not sure if this is normal. Since OCI has been generated already, why would the application be sent to embassy again? Is there anybody who is facing this issue?

Here is my timeline for OCI Card renewal via VFS at CHICAGO
23 DEC 2020 - Application filled out online and paid for service including VFS roundtrip courier service.
29 DEC 2020 - Could not get Courier shipping labels from VFS after many days of waiting, clearing cache, trying different browsers. Decided to send the package (including return shipping label at my cost to VFS Office in Chicago.
06 JAN 2021 - Received acknowledgment from VFS that application has been sent to Consulate for decision making
12 JAN 2021 - Received SMS stating that OCI is ready for pickup or shipping
14 JAN 2021 - Received SMS stating that OCI has been dispatched by VFS
15 JAN 2021 - Received OCI Card in hand via my own return shipping label that I sent
Very fast service indeed. Only issue was with VFS courier service that never worked for me. I plan to apply for refund of this service ($30). I don't expect to get this refund. Overall, the speed is much improved from previous renewals.

OCI (new OCI for minor) payment failed on VFS and can't proceed with application

Finished govt. website application and when I'm going through steps on the VFS site, payment failed. Credit card shows authorization though.
When I tried to "Add New Customer" step, it says "Application already exists, Please contact us using this link "https://services.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind/contact-us"
When I tried to "Retrieve Incomplete application", it says No Record exists.
Not sure on what to do next other than waiting to contact VFS on next working day.
If anyone had similar issue in the past, please suggest on how it got resolved.

Printed documents to be sent to VFS should be color print or black and white is fine?
