N400, here to share my timeline, Orlando field office
Hi guys, this journey is finally over. Thanks for this website and I'm here to share my timeline.

Field office--Orlando FL
5 yrs based

Interview Was Scheduled October 11, 2022
We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time. June 2, 2022
We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice. June 1, 2022

Interviewer is very friendly. My interview was scheduled at 12:45 and got seated at 1:30.

First she started the civic question.
1)Who's the founding father? 2)How long does house of representative serve 3)Who wrote declaration of independence .. can't remember the rest but those questions are pretty easy.

On writing, she asked me to say "Who elects Congress"

After that we just went over the yes/no question. I updated my speeding ticket and she scan the file. Also updated work history. At the end she congratulated me and said you have pass the interview!

A little hiccup is that yesterday she said the system is very slow so she's not sure if she can put me in queue for the ceremony same day. Because of the system failure on my sheet it says "A decision cannot be made" but she said I definitely passed and asked me to wait in the lobby and they will see if the system will allow the ceremony. I then waited from 2 pm to 4 pm with probably around 25 more people to be naturalized. At the end an officer came out and said due to the system being so low, about 5 of us cannot be sworn in today and asked us to go home and wait for the mail.

My online USCIS account still says interview scheduled, no update since. I'm a little bit nervous lol since it's been a day with no update. With the coming holiday being a possible delay, don't know when they will schedule me for the oath. My friend who also did the interview in the same field office, his status changed that same day at night and he got a phone call from the field office the following day ask him to come in for an interview. Not sure how long will mine take since the online status haven't even changed yet,

Anyone in the same boat?

N-400 this is exhausting. After 9 months of waiting. and 24 months of i-751 waiting
Yesterday was my combo interview , I was at the USCIS office with my spouse to attend the interview. our appointment was 8am, after waiting for 3 hrs for the desk team to check US in about 40 of US, the uscis official came out that their system is down and they will need to reschedule everyone as in I was exhausted and confused after taking the day off work, preparation for the test etc it was frustrating. Has any one ever experience something like this my question is how long will it take for them to reschedule the interview again?

Interview: the office asked my husband to come in first then I came in. He asked both of us basic relationships questions. I have an investment house that’s currently renting out. Which my husband is not on the mortgage/title. The office made a face when asking why didn’t I invite my husband to invest on this house together, I said I was able to pay it myself and he didn’t agree with me when I was buying this property. Is this a red flag? The interview ended up just a I-751 interview, he said we will receive another mail about the N-400 interview. And he didn’t ask for any evidence. Only asked questions.

N-400/ citizenship pending for 26 months!
Hello everyone ,

I applied for N400 in sep 2020.

I got my Interview notice in june 2021,scheduled for july 2021, but they canceled it couple weeks before the interview dates!

Since then I’ve filing inquiries forum with USCIS inquiries asking whats wrong and why is taking so long and all what am get as a respond from them is “ BACKGROUND CHECK IS STILL NOT DONE” for more than 2 years and I had my interview already scheduled then canceled before as I mentioned above!!!

So couple months ago I went to an Immigration lawyer and asked for legal advice and her response was:

she mentioned that she believes during 2020 filing alot of cases had being messed up intentionally ( specially immigration cases) and they’re still stuck back then and nothing you can other than what you did ( which filing for inquiries and keep following up) but wait January 2023 by then you should definitely hear back from them or just withdraw the case and apply again and you have to pay the fees again and the new cases are taking around 6 months where I stay at ( Tampa/ FL).

does anyone had a similar situation? And the most important question that I don’t understand even the lawyer couldn’t give me a ligit response is that, how long they can keep me hanging like that and what legal actions I can take to hear a valid response about my delay other than “ background check “

Thank you guys! And best of luck to all of you out there who’s been waiting and congratulations to those who became citizens 🙏🏻🙌🏻
