No Movement on My Case
Good morning everyone,
I am a Michigan filer and my service center is Nebraska. I applied and submit my I-751Removal of Conditions: please see my timeline below:
August 09, 2021 - Send my packet to USCIS
August 11, 2021 - Got a text from USCIS that they received my application and case was updated in their website “Case Was Received”
August 28, 2021 - Received an 18 months extension letter.
September 10, 2021. - Received another letter from USCIS for a 24 months extension
September 28, 2021 - letter from USCIS saying that my biometric was re-used.
After that no updates at all. No movement! My case in USCIS website still stuck to “Case Was Received”
I am yet to file for my N-400 this August since I already meet the requirements for the 90 day early filing calculator. But I am double thinking whether I will or not. And if I will file my N-400 what are the consequences? I need some advice please…
How long does it takes from N-400 approval to oath ceremony date being scheduled?
Hi everyone, I applied N-400 based on 3 years marriage.
Timeline is as follow:
11/12/21 - Submit Application, fingerprint is being re-used
06/09/22 - Interview scheduled
07/14/22 - Interview date, approved, and in line for oath ceremony
I asked my officer about the wait time for the oath ceremony to be scheduled. She said normally it takes two weeks, but for now, it could take longer than two weeks. I just want to know your experience? Does anyone still waiting for the oath ceremony as well? How long have you been waiting?
For those who are waiting for the interview, be patient and always think positively. Your time will come! I wish you all luck!
N400 Approved after 3 years of permanent resident status based on marriage, never received green card
Feel very fortunate and blessed to have been approved so fast and seamlessly, other than never receiving the physical green card until 2 days after my N400 interview. Interview was quick, 15 minutes, got asked the expected 6 civics questions and all the questions that you answer "no" to. Here is my timeline.
February 25, 2022- We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice.
February 25, 2022- We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time.
May 10, 2022- We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.
June 29, 2022- We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
June 29, 2022- Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled
Documents that I included for N400 application: Joint credit card statement, joint bank account, 3 years worth of joint tax return, employer benefits, most recent paycheck, joint auto insurance, joint mortgage, drivers licenses with same address, child birth certificate, old I-94 student visa, wife's American passport, marriage certificate, and a photo collage that I sent for my initial GC application with photos of us.
I think what helped my case go fast and smooth was a clean record, my job (initially professional student, now healthcare professional), bonafide marriage, and location of my application in Missouri which presumably has lower volume.. but this is all conjecture. The only blip was the fact that the initial green card never got to me for some reason and even after applying for I-90 to have it replaced, I never got it until only after my N400 was approved (so I ended up getting 3 different I-551 stamps in my passport). I never used a lawyer throughout the entire process, but did post several questions on avvo.com which gave me the responses to my questions very quickly, and I highly recommend using that to get answers for free.
I searched and searched this forum for cases like mine but was unable to find a similar situation so hopefully this post will provide relief to anyone whose GC never gets to them initially. I've been appreciative of this forum for its activity and used it frequently, so I am open to providing any feedback if I can help!
Applied 3rd Dec 2021 online
Received and Bio re-use 4th Dec 2021
Interview Schuled on 4th of June 2022
Interview and Oath ceremony done on the same yesterday ( 15th of July 2022).
Interview was very smooth and short . Took me around 15 minutes.
Does anyone know is USCIS allows an interpreter for Naturalization interview if the elderly candidate cannot understand english.
Let me know what's the process.
I have an upcoming interview in SA, TX for naturalization. Which civic test do they use- 2020 or 2018? I submitted my forms on April 2022. Also, anyone here knows if San Antonio do oath taking the same day?
Question about N400 interview/ceremony in Downtown Los Angeles
Hello Everyone,
I have my N400 interview scheduled in Downtown Los Angeles this upcoming Friday, July 8th. I have been holding a green card for 5 years thanks to an EB-1A, and I am not married to a US citizen.
My question is: before COVID, the oath ceremonies were being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, several weeks after the interview. Is anyone aware if they are back at doing that, or if they will swore me in as Citizen the same day of the interview at the sane office of the interview? Asking so that I know what to tell my job…
