I had my interview today at the SF field office. I was scheduled to have my interview at 10:50 am. Arrived at the office at 10 am (thinking I would be able to enter the building before my appt time), and was not able to get into the building on time. My advice is to arrive even earlier than I did, because the lines are so slow. I was checked in and seated waiting for my interview at about 11:25 am. Not long after that, I was called by an officer who would be my interviewer.
We made some small talk, they sworn me in, and we started with the English portion of the test, they asked me to read "Who lives in the White House?", and then write "The president lives in the White House".

After that, they asked me the following 6 civics questions:
1. What is one reason colonists came to America?
2. What is an amendment?
3. What is the “rule of law”?
4. Name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s.
5. What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?
6. When do we celebrate Independence Day? (She even joked before asking this last question, saying that this one was hard)

The questions are pretty easy, specially if you take the time to go over them a few times. I really loved the videos from Essa group that you can find on Youtube.

After the civics questions, we went over my application and updated it as we went, I had a new trip abroad that was then included by the officer in my application. When they asked me if I had ever been detained, cited or arrested, I said: "No, never been detained or arrested but I once got a speeding ticket", and I provided them with proof of payment for the ticket, they said: "Thank you for your honesty".

I was still making some more conversation, and said that it would be perfect if I could have my oath ceremony that same day, I also said that I was even all dressed up for such an important event, and guess what happened... They printed a piece of paper and left the room real quick, to get their supervisor to approve and sign the paper work, they then took me back to the waiting room, and brought me a piece of paper later (it was my approval notice), then they told me to wait for someone to call my name.

A few minutes later, another officer called my name and gave me my Oath Ceremony schedule letter, said ceremony would take place at the same building at 2pm. I left the building to get something to eat before the ceremony. I came back at 1pm, and was not allowed in (they said it was too early), so I had to take a walk and come back at 1:30pm, the line was terrible when I return once again, and we stood there, outside under a blazing sun for about 20 minutes or so.

After we got into the building and went through security, we had to hand over our green cards, and then we were handed over our Certificate of Naturalization, and someone escorted us to our seats, the ceremony was very simple, they asked us to stand up, raise our right hand and repeat the oath of allegiance after them. After that we were congratulated and then dismissed.

I was very confident I would get a same day oath ceremony, and because of that I had scheduled a passport appt at a USPS near home a couple of days prior. I had almost all the paperwork done (form, copy of my DL, photos, blank check), I just needed to take copies of my Certificate of Naturalization (after I signed it), and that was it. I was able to get to my appt on time, and I am now waiting to received my passport by mail (paid for the expedite service, and overnight delivery).

- Your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, was placed in line for oath ceremony scheduling. September 6, 2022
- We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. September 6, 2022
- We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. August 2, 2022
- We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time. February 7, 2022
- We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice. February 7, 2022

I am very proud and happy to say that I am officially a U.S. citizen after 6 years living in America.

07/20/2022 Interview day - officer asked super simple questions on Constitution and who is the President/VP/Speaker. I wanted to change my last name, but was advised that I can’t change it within USCIS process anymore and need to go through the court. Interview lasted about 30 mins max and was very casual. Don’t stress people!!!

Hi I am currently holding a 10 year GC (based on marriage). I didn't apply for N400 with the 3 year rule based on marriage. Does this mean i have to wait for the 5 year rule to apply?

This forum has helped me so much during my journey, so I wanted to share my story as it ends soon.

I received my conditional green card back in Spring 2019 through marriage (Brooklyn, New York).
In February 2021 I applied to Remove Conditions on Residence (I-751), and got the notice that my case was received. After that there was a year of complete silence on the USCIS website. (Got the 'biometrics reused' notice + 2 extension letters (18 and 24 months) by mail but no update online).

I made a decision to apply for N-400 Naturalization when the time has come (January 2022, through mail, based on 3-year rule) even though I knew it would postpone my green card interview. It triggered the movement of my I-751 to the new office.

February 26, 2021 We received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.

January 24, 2022: We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice.
January 26, 2022: We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time.
January 31, 2022: Your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, was transferred to another office for processing.

And then again 6 months of silence until July.
July 20, 2022: We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

On August 29th, 2022 I arrived to the interview. My husband came with me because I had pending I-751 and was hoping for Combo Interview but he was not allowed to go to the waiting room with me, and had to stay and wait for me in the lobby downstairs.
I was told in advance by the friend who works with immigration cases that no one guarantees the Combo Interview, and it depends on the Immigration Officer if they would like to have one. But it's important to bring your spouse just in case, which I did. I also brought a huge amount of documents (lease, our mutual bank statements, credit card statements, utility bills, plane tickets, etc) and 2 fat photo albums with hundreds of photos.

My interview was scheduled at 8:45 am. I was waiting pretty long to be called. Around 10:15 am they asked me back to the window where I've received my number and I saw them holding a huge pile of documents (which I assumed correctly were my documents from 2 pending cases). They asked me if I've arrived alone or my husband was around to which I said he was, and they asked me to call him to the waiting area because the officer who will deal with my case would like to talk to both of us. I was very happy (it meant Combo Interview was guaranteed!) and I asked him to join me.

We were called by the officer around 10:50 am. He talked to me and my husband (may be like 20-25 minutes), asked for a lot of documents, also took 5-6 pictures from our photo albums. After we successfully answered all the questions, he let my husband go back to the waiting area and said he doesn't see any reason why he shouldn't approve my I-751.
Then he conducted my N-400 interview.

My 6 questions were:
- What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy?
- What is the political party of the President now?
- Who is the Governor of your state now?
- In what month do we vote for President?
- There were 13 original states. Name three.
- What did Susan B. Anthony do?

Then I was asked to read: Who is the Father of our Country?
And I wrote: Washington is the Father of our Country.

He asked me about the recent changes on my application. And then those questions from Part 12. I was prepared with vocabulary words well, but he didn't end up asking any of those.
In the end he congratulated me and said he recommends my application for approval.

On August 31st, I've received the Oath Ceremony date (in 2 weeks) as online update on the USCIS website (I know it was also mailed to me this morning). And today, on September 1, my I-751 case got approved.

I just filed my N-400 form. My case starts with IOE. How can I know what location is processing my case? when I check the processing times in the USCIS website, I have to select a city, but I dont know which one belongs to my case. Any thoughts?

Passed my naturalization interview about a month ago. The officer told me to wait for the schedule of my Oath taking and they will forward my file to Atlanta, GA since I moved. Anyone here who waited for their swear in? How long did you wait? How long is the wait in Atlanta, GA or Montgomery, AL?

Good evening! I just had the combo interview for I-751 and N-400 yesterday on 8/29. The officer was nice and said our case looks solid, and he doesn't see any reason why I-751 shouldn't be approved. The interview for Naturalization also went smoothly. After the interview was over, he said that he would approve I-751 the next day (which is already today), and then N-400 24 hours after that because their system doesn't let them approve both on the same day. I was really relieved and happy. But today is almost over, and there is still no update on neither of the cases. I know I should just be patient but I wanted to ask here if anyone had a similar experience with the combo interview: how soon was your status updated online? Thank you.

my n400 was approved in 6 month the interview went well and it took 10 min.
