A very long road to a happy ending
One of the main things asked is how long the process will take and we worry endless when there is no movement on the case for a long time. I want to share my experience so that it will hopefully help someone who feels they are in limbo with no end in sight.

I paper filed in May 2015. I received an email confirmation that the application was received and accepted on 5/26/2015.
My status changed to interview scheduled on 5/3/2016 only to receive a call two days before the interview on 6/16/2016 stating that my appointment was cancelled because it was double booked. I would receive a new appointment letter.
I heard nothing and received nothing for the remainder of the year. I tried calling but as you know the customer service really doesn't have any information that you can't see online. In February 2017 I scheduled an infopass and was told that my application was still pending the FBI background check and I just had to wait until they got it back.
By then Trump was president and the crackdown on immigration had started so I just left the issue alone. I had diclosed 3 very old misdemeanors for pot paraphernalia that were deferred adjudication but feared they would be more harshly looked upon with the current administration.
Then on 3/26/19 I received a letter with an interview date of 4/16/2019. I was super nervous still and very concerned that I would not be approved.
I showed up early and the IO called my name right at my scheduled time. He was the nicest man and helped me relax right away. Not sure if it had something to do with the fact that he was retiring in a few months because we talked for more than two hours and only spent 15 mins going over there application and the Civic test. He gave me the approval notice and said that it's taking several months for the oath ceremonies in San Antonio to be done.
I asked if there was anything he could do to help me get in sooner. He said he would check which ceremony he could get me into. He called me back about 30 mins after I left and said he had gotten me into the 5/23/19 ceremony and that I would receive a letter with the details.
I was so happy and relieved after waiting so long to finish this journey.
I impatiently waited to see my status change to in line for ceremony which happened on 4/18/19 and on 4/24/19 it updated to oath letter mailed.
I received my letter on 4/27/19 and I will be attending the 5/23/19 judicial ceremony since I am getting a name change.
It has been almost 4 years to the date and I feared the worst many times along the way. I hope my experience gives others some solace whose application is taking a long time that it doesn't mean something is wrong. Most likely your case is just stuck in the bureaucratic process.

Good luck to everyone.

Interview....................................................04/30/2019

I am currently waiting for Oath Ceremony Notification. My case took pretty long but at no point I made any inquiry or did anything else. I did call the USCIS office a couple of times when it was still in the normal processing time but after that I just let it take its time.

My wife and mother also applied along with me, we all got finger printed at the same time. Their Interviews were scheduled pretty quickly and they had their Oath Ceremony on 09/20/2017.

N-400 No OATH Ceremony Notice 90days past Interview
Hello All,
My case is stuck I appeared for the Naturalization interview in NJ Newark office on Feb 06th 2019 and Officer gave me a letter saying I have cleared the Interview and she is forwarding it for APPROVAL. After that almost 90 days and no Oath Ceremony letter yet. I am not sure my case was supposed to be resolved by May 2019 per USCIS website and we are in May not sure wht to do as I have sent numerous emails but response has been standard "we are still reviewing your case". Can someone please help me?
This is really annoying that USCIS is not even letting me schedule any InfoPass appointment to see a officer and discuss whats going on. Anyone else had similar issue? Is the wait going to be Longer?
Any help/comment?

Waiting for 3 months for Oath ceremony in San Antonio

I passed my interview on 2/11/2019 and still waiting for oath ceremony and online status shows application approved "will mail you a letter when we schedule your naturalization ceremony."

I know people who went in end of March who have been already scheduled and my wife got it in 3 weeks. I am just a bit frustrated at the lack of information and why the delay.

Is there any one that has waited 3 months or longer waiting for oath?
How can we get feedback from the field office, I called the USCIS on the phone but they dont provide much help. The field office is also not taking any infopass appointments so that shuts off that path. Has anyone had luck asking USCIS customer service to follow up with the field office over the phone?

New York City: Interview Scheduled
So finally, some movement, after all my anxiety.

Filed Online: 5 June 2018
Biometrics Appt: 28 June 2018

I received notification this morning by e-mail that an action had been taken against my case. Upon logging in, I see the notification stating that my interview has been scheduled, although the document has not been uploaded yet.

I imagine the interview will be sometime in May, if not early June. Anyway, this was a painful wait and now things are finally coming close to an end. I hope, for me anyway, this process will all be complete with passport in hand as early as July,
