Brooklyn NY interview federal plaza
Hi, just sharing my timeline + interview experience , maybe it will help:
PD: sept 25 2017
FP oct 24 2017
In line for interview: oct 26 2017
Today (sept 13 2018) I had my interview. The officer was friendly and the interview was quite easy. The civic questions were:
1. State that borders Mexico
2. Name three original colonies
3. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence
4. Who is the commander in chief of military
5. What are two major political parties
6. What is the political party of the president now.
I passed the test and the whole interview went quite smooth. However, on the receipt that she gave me was written “decision can not be made at this time” I asked her if everything is ok and she said it’s just a formality and it won’t take long.

Let’s see...

Hope this helps.

Hey Guys,
first, i wanna thank God for guiding my steps thru this journey, with Jesus everything is possible.

yesterday my online account changed to : "we approved your application. your final step to become a citizen is to attend your naturalization ceremony ".
i haven't received the actual mail yet but i guess it wouldn't take long for that, what a relief.

thanks.

NEWARK OFFICE, NJ
Good Afternoon, Guys

In reference with the office above I have to tell you guys it was such an amazing experience that I encountered here when I went for my interview on Saturday the 8th of this month. I was waiting for that day like you can not imagine. My priority day was JULY 17 2017,and my interview was on SEPT. THE 8TH, first able I was kind of confused because my appointment was set up on a SATURDAY which is not considered a BUSINESS DAY.
I had the appointment at 8am, which I ended up having it like around 9:15am, it was really easy for me because I was studying since day one ( 100 questions ), so I memorized basically all of them. the entirely interview was proximally 15 minutes because they will ask you all the yes/ no questions one by one.( be careful on your responses because they read it a little bit fast and you might get confused).

After that she told me to wait outside and then she handed me a sheet where said ( REVIEW TO APPROVE ) so I waited outside for about 1hr and half, they called me again to sign my CERTIFICATE (check the spelling) and also they will ask you for the GREEN CARD, EVEN THOUGH IT'S EXPERIED YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT TO THEM( ALL THE PRINT OUTS, I had 2 - one expired and the current one),Then when I signed it I asked myself it looks like I am going to have the OATH CEREMONY TODAY!!!!!!!! and for your surprise, yes I did, LOL... so even though it was a Saturday they process everything the same day apparently, or I don't know if I got extra luck, LOL... So the OATH CEREMONY PASSED it took like 30 - 40 min the max. Once I got the certificate I went directly to the post office to get my passport, that was another adventure because not all of the branches ( POST OFFICE) have the availability to process that request, so I have to look which one was assign to it, but at the end I submitted that request for my passport and now I am waiting for it.
I wish you guys the best of luck and be patient that's the key.

Thank you Guys.... :)

My wife's timeline so far (I'm US Citizen, she's Canadian)
Applied online

September 2, 2018 - We received your application
September 7, 2018 - We scheduled your biometrics appointment
September 26, 2018 - Biometric appointment

We've been married 22 years with child so expect this to just be an expensive formality.

Her green card expires in April 2019 so wondering if we'll need to renew that or not...

Do "spouse based" N400's get processed faster than "time based"?
