US citizen
As of Wednesday, I am a US citizen. The Oath Ceremony was very emotional. I'm glad this journey came to an end. It took 13 months for the whole process but it's worth it.

Does anybody know if the Social Security Office will update their record automatically or I have to go there in person to let them know about my status change?

Good luck to you all on your journey!

Today my long Journey has come to an end
Here is my Timeline

Filed 11/16/2016
FP 12/21/2016
in line for an interview since 12/26/2016
Interview was schedule Notice 08/26/2017
Interview Date 09/28/2017
Oath Ceremony 09/29/2017

Yesterday I finally went for my interview. Waited almost 2 hours to be called . The interview went very smooth, the office was super professional and nice.
He made sure if all my info was right. I showed him my passport and Green Card and then made me ready the following Phrase : who lives in the White House?
made me write the answer, and then asked the following 6 question:

who was the First President?
Who is the Governor of your State now?
Name two National US Holliday
What is one promise you make when become a US Citizen?
What movement tried to end racial discrimination?
Where is the State of Liberty?

The whole interview took around 15 minutes. Then he congratulated me, saying that I passed the interview and asked if I want to come back on the following day for the Oath Ceremony. I waited for another hour so they could give me the Oath Letter notification.
I came back today for the Oath Ceremony. There were only 45 of us, the ceremony took around 30 minutes and it was very emotional. I'm so glad this is over and I can call myself an american Citizen!
Good luck to all of you!!!

Houston Field Office Oath ceremonies
For Houston Field office people I did my interview on Aug 24th and got recommended for approval since then no update I was told about the oath ceremony will be on Sept 20th but I did get any notification then the next Oath will be on Oct 18th but I was told that there will be only 100 people be attending the oath in October and I missed the cut out since my case didn't got re-reviewed yet I don't understand this why they can't schedule us for October oath specially when the interview was done in August and why is it taking forever to re-review my case. This is getting so frustrating. anyone on the same boat ?

Citizenship with 15 yrs old misdemeanor theft ?
Here is my story: back in 02 I was working at a retail store and my register came up short $400 or $500 not sure, after investigation the store said that 2 gift cards that were purchased were loaded with more money than what it was suppose to be (instead of $20 they were loaded with $200); innocent mistake but they had to call the cops due to "store Policy" anyhow, I ended up in jail for 8hrs, bailed out, saw the judge , community service, paid a fine and 1yr probation.(Never got in trouble since) Then applied for Asylum in 2010(Granted), 2011 granted GC, April, 2017 applied for citizenship and now waiting for interview to be scheduled. From Asylum application to GC criminal record was brought up during both interviews . I have consulted an attorney prior to submission of my N 400 and was told everything will be fine and I shouldn't be denied but I'm just scared now . Anyone had similar experience ?
Should I just go for the interview when the time comes or just abandon the application ? PD:4/17/2017. Thanks.
