Houston filer
Completed my interview today. PD Aug 24, 2016.

Interview was smooth and uneventful. Appointment was for 2.45pm. I arrived at 2.20pm and was called in at 2.42pm. Officer was very polite and friendly. She gave me the oath, completed the writing and reading, then six civics test questions. She then asked questions about my application and updated changes that have occurred since my application last year; including travel, birth of my daughter etc. Only documents I presented were green card, passports, drivers license and my new daughter's birth certificate (so she could update the application). I signed the iPad and she congratulated me on passing the interview, with her recommendation for approval. Interview lasted 20 minutes.

Only thing I didn't get was the Aug oath ceremony. She said it was too late to get into that ceremony. Unfortunately, I have to travel on business the same week as the September oath ceremony, so I may have to wait till October to complete the process:(

Interview Atlanta 8/15/2017
2/2/2017 N400 mailed
3/15/2017 Biometrics
7/7/2017 Received interview appointment notice
8/15/2017 Interview: passed.

Anyone know how long it takes for the online status to update. Or, the average wait for the oath ceremony in ATL?

My interview appointment was for 10.15. I went in at 9.45, thru security and checked in at the lobby on the first floor. I was told to go to the second floor where they gave me a number. I was called in one hour later.

My IO came and picked me up from the waiting room, took me into his office, immediately swore me in, asked for my passport/driver's license/ green card and took my biometrics.

After that, he made me read and write a sentence and asked me 6 civics questions which I answered correctly. He wrote down my answers, signed the form and added it to my file.

Next, he asked me questions about my travel abroad and he wanted specifics. "What happened the last time you went thru immigration in ATL and on what date?" He obviously already knew the answers.

Satisfied with my travel answers, he proceeded to go thru every single question/item in my N400 and put big red checkmarks next to each. He asked a few follow-up questions and seemed satisfied with my answers.

After going thru the app, he asked me if I understood the oath, had me sign the form, had me sign 2 passport pictures and had me verify/sign the information that will be shown on my naturalization certificate.

He told me his recommending me, signed/gave me the N-652 and told me I should get oath letter in the mail within 2 to 4 weeks, but it could take up to 60 days. I thanked him and he congratulated me, shook my hand and escorted me back to the waiting area

Overall, my IO was friendly, but methodical and thorough. The entire interview took about 30 minutes. Answer honestly and you'll be just fine!

Good morning everyone!

Finally my online status says "my oath ceremony letter has been sent". Sigh* Big Relief.

Do you know how many does it normally take to deliver the mail from USCIS ?

My case was put in line for interview 01/04/2017, and my interview has not yet been scheduled. Did anyone apply at the Dallas Office? How long did it take for your interview to be scheduled after the case was put in line for interview?

Thank you

Interview long overdue and now asked to go back
Hi,

I had my natz case filed in Dec. 2015. I had my fingerprints taken on Jan. 2016 and then got an interview notice in May 2016. Everything was good until the officer mentioned that they don't have enough information (my background check) to finish the interview and i should go and would be contacted once all is ready. Have been waiting since. The USCIS customer service doesn't help either. Contacted them a couple of times and they just repeat that i have to wait for my background check.

Yesterday I received a letter from the field office to go and to ask for an officer regarding my N-400 application. It doesn't say much and it is not on the I-797 interview schedule form either. I am not sure what it means. Has anybody seen similar letters and knows what they may actually ask for?

Naturalization Interview
On 08/8/17 I had my Naturalization interview which I passed. The IO was extremely friendly. I answered all 6 civics questions correctly and also the reading/written portion too. She didn't ask me about taxes, selective service, or proof of employment. She didn't even ask to see my passport only my permanent resident card. After we went through the entire application she gave me a paper stating that I had passed my interview and recommended me for approval. The only thing that didn't go my way was when she told me that this field office didn't process legal name changes, of which I requested on my application. Then she gave me my Oath ceremony notice right before I left her office. My ceremony will be on the 18th. The entire process for me took 3 months.
I hope everyone has a smooth process with their case and thanks to everyone in this forum you guys really helped me a lot.
