Confused on my N400 Application.
Hey guys I really confused and that is why I wanna begin to talk to you guys everything from beginning and all dates will exactly copy from my original notice papers. Let's go:
I filled out my N400 from Bowling Green, Kentucky state on June16 , 2016 years. I got first mail as a notice paper and on that paper written my access code and USCIS online account number and so everything for online registration. Dates on it are "Receipt Date 06/20/2016", "Priority Date 06/16/2016" and finally "Notice Date 06/20/2016". And it says on paper I should Log on and confirm my account within 30 days otherwise account will expire 30 days from the receipt date listed at the top of this letter. So I registered and confirmed my account . Everyything fine with this. So I received second notice paper and it says that, my N400 application has been received by their office and it is in process and they gonna schedule for me biometric fingerprint appointment. Dates on second notice paper letter are "Received Date 06/17/2016 and Priority Date 06/17/2016. And additional info written on it that "Single Application fee \$680" and "Total balance due \$0.00" .
Finally, 3rd and and last notice paper I received and it is a Biometric Notification written on it. Notice dates on it are: "Notice Date 06/24/2016" and "Biometric Fingerprint Date 7/11/2016 at 02:00PM in USCIS Nashville Application Support Center" So I went little bit early in morning 11AM and they accepted and done on my fingerprints. So after that nothing happened. No updates and no nothing. Today I called to Customer Service Telephone 800-375-5283 and one young lady made me confuse on my application why because before when I called and asked them about my they were answering me different and problem is before I thought my application belongs my local Louisville, Kentucky USCIS Application Support Center but this time young lady told me my Application in Dallas Texas office center, so that is why please help me recognize where should my application belongs to?!! And How I should now that. And please help me by explaining if you could ! Thankn you guys ! Waiting your answers !

Problems renewing my Driver's license
My I-551 Resident card was issued when I was a child, and it doesn't have an expiration date. I know I probably should have renewed it a long time a go, but I never had issues, so I put it off.

I now live in NY and went to the DMV to renew my license and they turned me away, saying they couldn't accept my I-551. I'm now worried. I'm currently in line for an interview and don't want to show up with an expired driver's license.

Should I try to renew my permanent resident card? I'm also worried that doing so will screw up my citizenship chances, not to mention I'm spending another 600 dollars.

Crazy Process
Hi All,

My field office is Houston TX. My PD 9/8/2016 & FP done 10/3/2016. I found out many people from Houston TX who applied last year in Oct, Nov, Dec 2016 already got there interview and oath and website says they are processing as of May 31 2016. Don't know what they are doing obviously information is not correct on the website and it has become a joke. I called them and they said mine is under a background check but its already 8 months for me don't know what is it taking so long.

Anyone on the same boat with me?

G-56, Call in Notice after N-400 Interview
Today received at G-56 letter asking me to go for 2nd interview. I had my 1st interview last month (April 7). Officer who interviewed me told me she will recommend for approval but there's some pending background check and that's why she is unable to make decision.

Now 2nd interview scheduled with the same officer again and letter doesn't mention anything about bringing additional documents or evidence.

My N400 was applied based on marriage. Field office Long Island, NY.

Anyone went through similar experience or know any information worth sharing?
Thanks!

US Citizen - Los Angeles N-400 Timeline
Hi Everyone,

Been a long time lurker but thought I would finally add my experience as a pay it forward to everyone who might find the information useful.

To summarize, I had a very smooth experience through the entire process and USCIS was very timely in all the application steps. I finally became a citizen today with 4500 other people in Los Angeles.

Application Docket Sent: Nov 9th, 2016 - Anyone needs any guesses as to why :)
USCIS Cashed Check: Nov 14th, 2016
USCIS Sent Notice: Nov 17th, 2016
Biometrics Appointment Notice: Dec 2nd, 2016
Biometrics Appointment Date: Dec 22nd, 2016
Case In Line for Interview: Jan 4th, 2017
Interview Notice Sent: Feb 13th, 2017
Interview Date: Mar 20th, 2017 (See Interview Notes Below)
Oath Ceremony Scheduled: Mar 28th, 2017
Oath Ceremony: Apr 18th, 2017

The whole process took 5 months and every step was well within reasonable bounds of my expectations. In fact there were times I was surprised by how quick things were moving. I was processed at the NBC or so I think since my application number was NBC* YYYY YYYY X. I have been a green card holder for 7 years prior to applying.

Interview Notes: Was met by a very nice IO at the USCIS office in Downtown Los Angeles. My interview time was scheduled to be at 11:30AM but the IO came in at 11:00AM and said he was having issues on the computer and would need to move my interview to 1:00PM. You always wonder if they found out about that one time you went to a strip club in Vegas for your buddy's bachelor parties and if that will get you in trouble. Anyways, I didnt move from my chair and the IO came in earlier at 12:30 and pretty much asked me the screening questions while we walked to his office. As I sat down, he said I should calm down and no need to be nervous. He went on to ask the civics questions which were IIRC:

1) How many senators are present in the U.S. Senate.?
2) When was the the constitution written?
3) Name the current U.S Supreme Court Chief Justice
4) Name a state that borders Canada.
5) What is the rule of law?
6) For how many years do we elect a House Representative.

The oral and written english exam was laughable. The question was: "What do we pay to the government?" and I answered "Taxes?". He said correct and said to write down "We Pay Taxes".

Afterwards he asked me some questions from the N-400 and then asked me to sign my form. And then he gave me a decision letter saying I was recommended for approval. He gave me instructions on how to apply for a passport and how long it usually takes for an oath ceremony notice and actual ceremony to take place.

For the oath ceremony, I highly recommend to come in as early as possible, so you can leave as early as possible. Also, don't get frustrated as you will run into idiots who don't follow instructions and will hold the line for as long as possible. You will be very tempted to do something stupid and then, you will end up answering "Yes" to one of the 8 questions on the N-445 oath questionnaire on the back which will mean "No Citizenship". I nearly missed the ceremony even though I was there 2 hours earlier because of two morons who didn't listen to the loud and blaring instructions on filling your N-445 Notice before going to the USCIS representative. The oath ceremony itself was beautiful. To see the happy faces of your soon to be fellow citizens everywhere, and to be sworn in by a judge and be administered the oath and sing the national anthem is very humbling.

Finally, after the ceremony, you are given your naturalization certificate, and everything I just said, becomes a memory. Best of luck to you all. To everyone I talked to today, they all had similar experiences to me and felt it was a very fair process and were surprised how quick it went for them. I am sure it will be the same for you too. Hang tight and God Bless America!

St PAUL MN OFFICE
Ok i just decided to add to the frustrations all over this website.
I am a june filer and its been 10 long **** months and still no interview. I went for an info pass this morning and was told that am in line for interview while my online status shows fingerprints. I asked the pleasant lady why my status isnt updated and she said online status is just not the best, we been having lots of issues with the webside. Its just crazy how they cant even fix a damn website and put updates for their customers. God knows how long my case is been sitting like that with no update and how long it will sit in one lazy government employe s desk. It drives me crazy to think about that. I put all my plans on hold.
The best part was when she told me the processing went up from 10months to a year so she said i might expect an interview and maybe add few more weeks for oath so basically 5 more months which will put me at a year and 3months until i finish tge whole process. Just beyond uncomprehensible and so damn excrutiating for us.
GOD HELP US.
