Visitor Visa - B2

My Parents got their 10 year multiple entry visitor visa today from the chennai embassy. The visa officer was pretty friendly and nice to them. My parents answered confidently too.

VO: Namaste [ Air India Mascot Maharaja pose :) ]
Dad: Namaste and good morning!
VO: So, who is YYYY
Dad: YYYY is our son
VO: How long have you been married to your wife
Dad: 25 years
VO: That's nice.. silver jubilee year. What was you job before retirement?
Dad: I was a manager in a bank.
VO: Your visa has been granted and will reach you in the next 7 days. Have a nice trip!

My mom was not asked any questions.

My mom visitors visa was rejected earlier and again we are planning to schedule appointment.the sponsers documents were fine and the reason for rejection is with her income. she told that her annual income is 1 lakh.so suggest us how much income do we need to show.. because she is having agriculture land documents which gives annual income more than what she said...
please suggest us regarding this...

My mom had her visitor visa interview in the Delhi US embassy on April 1, she was granted the visa. We have not received the passport yet, so I do not know the duration of the visa.

I think the hardest part in the whole ordeal was to get an appointment at the Delhi consulate (in hindi). It took me around 1.5 months of waking up in the nights(here in US) and keep checking the vfs website for available slots.

Anyways, I had mailed her the sponsorship documents(me being the sponsor) and all other supporting docs. She had also prepared her documents.

The VO did not ask for anything except my passport copy.

The questions asked were as follows(VO was american speaking hindi, there was no translator):

-What visa is your daughter on?
-How long has she been in the US?
-What company does she work for?
-Is she married?
-What does her husband do? What company?
-Why are you going for just 3 months?
-Who else is in your family?
-What does your husband do?
-What does your son do?

And then came the much awaited words - "I am granting you visa, your passport will reach you, enjoy your stay."

She was out in about 1 hour.

Hi Friends,

Please note that according to new rules VFS office in Mumbai won't be assisting personal interview scheduling at their office, it has to be done strictly Online only.
Also the documents required for interview has to be handed over by hand at the VFS Office in mumbai 3 days prior to interview , No Couriers .

I am a working woman, I am working in a Pvt.Ltd. firm as an accoutant.My Husband is a Lawyer & Minicipal Counceller of Bilimora Nagar Palika.He is a Only one son of his mother.We have only one Child, 13 years of age.
3 years ago myself & my daughter visited the Zimbabwe & Botswana at my sisters house. In this summer vacation we both are planning t0 go to usa, verginia at my Husband's uncle house.
My husband is not comming with us to usa because of his Mother is 79 years old & he is a one child of his mother, he is very busy with his Social Services & Profession. He is elected as a Municipal conciller of Bilimora Nagar Palika last 25 years.(Science 1985)

My husband's Real Uncle Sponders us. They sends us all necessary documents.

Our first Interview held on 12th March'09 at mumbai.
They ask me following Questions
1. Where do u go?
Ans. verginia, w.c.

2. Relation With Sponsor
Ans. My Uncle in law, My Husband's Uncle

3. How long u r staying there?
Ans. Two Months.(As Per my DS-156 Form)

3. Where u r doing a job.
Ans. I told My company's name

4. Yr company will senction yr leave?
Ans. I said Yes I Present my Leave Senction Certificate.

5. Yr Husband is Comming With U?
Ans. No.

6. How Much Yr Monthly Salary?
Ans. Rs.11,000/- per Months.

after few minutes they told us ur not elligible for us visa they give us one letter. we denied visa us 214(b).

I feel I miske the give my answer when they ask me what is yr monthly salary.I told only my Salary.

My Daughter is very nurvase. We applied Second time & Our Interview is held on 27th March'09 at Mumbai.
(We are applied early because of my daughter's annual exam will be started from 1st april 09)

At this Time they ask us following questions.

1.Where u r doing the job?
Ans. I am working with M/s.Acey Engg.Pvt.Ltd. as as an accountant. I am a Permenant Emplyee.

2. What is the Relation with Sponsor?
Ans. My Husband's Uncle. I Show My Sponsor Letter & I-134 Affidavit Support Form but they told me it is not required.

3. What is yr husband doing?
Ans. My Husband is a Lawar & Municipal Counceller.

4. U Visit another Country ?
Ans. Zimbabwe & Botswana

5. Why u are there?
Ans. My Sister is there & we was gone for vacation period only.

Then They told me u Stand outside we wants to talk with yr daughter.

they ask my daughter following questions.
1. Who is in Zimbabwe? Why do u go there?
Ans. My Mother's wife is there & we go i my summer vacation. I like natural beauty very much.

2. Why u Wants to go to usa?
Ans. I want t see Disney world it's my dream.

3. What is yr Father's & Mother's Income?
Ans. I Don't Know.

After that they call us & shaw in a computer & my forms & tell us sorry Mem. & again give us same letter.rejected under 214(b)

I request them please check our papers mem. they told me it is not required.
I told them pl. give us proper reason please?

My daughter is crying.& told them it is my last chance pl.mem.

My husband said we are trying once.

Pl.suggest me, Third time we are applied or not.

We are going only in vacation period because now she is in std.VIIIth Next vacation she is busy with her board exam preparation & she has no time for 3 years it is her carrier years.

Pl. give us advice.

I am 27 yrs old and my husband isn't travelling with me. My sister lives in the US but my husband was sponsoring my trip.
The interview was at Chennai consulate and the interview barely lasted for 2 minutes.
Questions asked were:
1. Why do you want to go to USA?
2. I see that your working as ---, how long have you been working?
3. I see that your married, do you have any children? Is your husband travelling along with you?
4. How long do you plan on staying in the US?
5. Do you live in your own house or a rented house?
No documents were asked to produce, although I was carrying a huge file.
The key is to be honest and confident.

Dad:My father is a farmer, he said the same to VO.
VO:Who is there in India?, Is she your only daughter?
Dad:My father said , I have two daughters, one is here in India and youger one is in USA.
VO:Who takes care of your expenses?
Dad:My Son-in-law
VO:What is his salary?
Dad:Aswered
VO:Where is your son-in-law working?
Dad:Answered
VO:Asked for the tax docs..
Dad:gave it to the VO
VO:Will you come back?
Dad:Told about the relations in India.

Although our primary objective is for tourism and my husband hiolding a multiple entry business visa, I was nervous. But the VO was very kind and the best part was I could understand his accent and reply to him. Thnaks once again to immihelp for their guidance
