My mother got her visa in her second attempt
"Immihelp you are the best"

With the help of Immihelp and few quick picks from the readers experiences my widowed mother got her visa.

She was really disappointed when she was denied visa in the first try.
Many of the other visa holders did not encourage her, saying, since she was single US govt would not consider her, or the sponser has tobe GC holder.. blah blah blah.

Thats all Bull....,Play your cards well, give/makeup enough reasons to return India.

The letter to the Counsellor requesting for the visa is very important, that is the primary document they will initially look into, if you could impress them giving reasons, conditions to comeback. there is no reason why thay should reject the visa, ofcourse other doc's also play an important role. But remember they all down in the list and the officer may or may not look into them.

Best of luck!

Parents Visa approved in 3rd Attempt
First of all thank to Immihelp for providing all the information.

We did not send any documnets from here, we showed that they are sponsoring their own trip.
They had interview in Gujarati for all the attempts.

My Parents applied of visitor visa in june of 2005 denied at that time because the money was deposited in the account before a month.

Second attempt was made on 11th of April 2007.
Oficer asked what place they want to visit. They were unable to answer becuase they are not much educated.

And third was made on 16th May 2007. Few Questions were asked.

1) What countries did your visit before.
ans ) They visited couple of countries they mentioned it.

2)Why was your visa denied previously.
ans ) We don't know they didn't give us any reason.

3)what is your annual income.
ans) They answered accordingly.

4)Who is taking care of the tour.
ans) my parents said we will take care.(They didn't ask for bank pass book this time).

5)Who lives in usa.
ans) They answered accordingly.

Officer said you will recieve your passport in courier.

Please didn't give up hope.
My dad give up hope and said this is my last attempt and never try again, but we forced him to apply for 3rd attempt and here is the result.

Will be waiting for the passport. To check on visa period.

Visitor Visa Granted for Parents - 04/May/2007 - Chennai Consulate
Hi,

My parents got visitor visa today. They had a 7:45 am appointment. They entered the consulate sharp by 7:15am. Though they reached on time, due to some misunderstanding by the VFS people, they had wait for almost an hour before entering the man building. When my dad complained that people who had later appointment times were being called first, one VFS lady instructed another VFS staff to take my parents straight to the consular officer. Quote: “Take this gentleman straight to the Consular Officer”.

They were taken to the Fingerprinting Section and then straight to the visa officer. So my parents didn’t have to wait in the main building. My dad was so happy with the “royal treatment”.

The consular officer was 40+ male. The Interview was in English.

My parents greeted him saying ‘Good Morning”.

Questions Asked by the Consular officer were:

1.You are going to see your daughter?
Ans: YES

2.So, you have not traveled outside India before? (browsed through passports of both mom and dad while asking )
Ans: Yes. That’s right

3.Tell me about the school (browsing the applications)
Ans: My dad explained that he owns the school and that we teach from pre-school to 10th grade

4.Where is your son-in-law working?
Ans: YYYY Mechanical Company

The Co then said:

“Have a pleasant trip. The passports will be sent to your address”

My parents then said:

“Thank You”

All questions were directed to my dad. My mom also works in the same school. My dad was not that co-operative with my mock-interviews but my mom did a great job with all my mock-interviews. I had like 90+ questions for them.

No documents were asked. But I made sure they had all the documents both mandatory and optional. My sister got married in Jan 2007 so I went to India for 5 days. This was a concern for me. But, I am glad the questions didn’t reach that stage. My sister is working so I had made them take her employment letter and business card as well.

Thank you IMMIHELP Team for your service and to all those members who shared their good and bad experiences. This sweet success would not have been possible without your help.

Thank you God for making this happen hassle-free.

Since I am on H4, my husband sponsored the visit. I was after him all these days to get the paper work done immaculately. He was really wonderful to put up with my level of perfection. And I really would like to thank him for that. My in-laws also went for visa in Jan 2007 and successfully got their visa. My MIL is currently here and my FIL is coming in 3-4 days. They got a 10-yr multiple entry visas. I am hoping the same for my parents.

They left the embassy by 10:45am.

Probable Reasons for Success:

•My parents were cool and composed
•They were not desperate for the visa. Their life would still be the same attitude worked
•They were very confident
•Good communication and listening skills (listening because most people do not concentrate and listen to what the VO is asking.)
•Excellent Paper work – properly documented with POST-ITS and Checklist of documents for both applicant and sponsor on top of each pile. (Placed on the counter so that the VO could easily see it
•Genuine Request – 2 months. People who come on B2 and overstay make it harder for others wanting to come here. They are our parents. Please do not bring them here for managing our house and kids. It is our job.
•They knew the entire documentation to the word-T.
•Strong Family Ties – Granddad, sister, brother-in-law, School, properties
•Financial stability.

The COs can sense our intent by just seeing us. They are trained for that.

You can contact me at: [email protected] for FAQs, Sponsor & Applicant Checklists and letter formats etc.

Hope this experience helps as much as the other experiences helped me.

Good Luck!!

Mom's Visito Visa Rejected on 214(b)
Hi My Mom Aged 71 went for Visitor Visa and got rejected on 214(b) not enough ties to come back.

But my Dad 76 is staying back in India. My 2 Sisters with their family is staying back in India. Wasn't this enough?

We are from a very poor family and we do not have any properties in India. My parents are not-educated. I pay for their monthly expenses.

Does my mom has any chance of visiting me atleast once to see how I am doing in US?

Regards,

Mom's Visa Approved - Chennai Consulate
First of all, I would like to thank God for his blessings and I shall thank immihelp for the guidance in everything including documents etc.

My mom had her Visa interview on May 1st 1.30pm at Chennai. Her Passport and appointment letter at consulate entrance and then she was let inside the consulate.
When she appeared before the Officer she was asked for DS-156 and her passport.
only 5 questions were asked to her.

VO:how many children do u have?
mom: 1 daughter and 1 son.
VO: where are they and what is ur son doin?
mom: daughter is in US and my son is studying here in India.
VO: why is husband not accompanying u?
mom: As my husband has official commitments he is not accompanying with me.
VO: what is ur designation?
Mom : ABC

Thats all. After that VO told my mom that she wud be getting her passport in 4-5 days and visa is granted.

As she is a Govt. Employee we expected VO to ask her NOC and leave sanction letter. But fortunately, no documents were asked.

I am thankful to immihelp.
All the Best to others.
Let God be with u.

Archana.
