B1/B2 visa holder in US, but wife and kid b2 got rejected, applying again, need help

My husband is in US now on b1. I have applied b2 visa for myself and daughter and want to join him for vacation . But last month our visa got rejected with 214b.
My husband's company is sponsoring him and he is staying in hotel. we will be joining and staying in the same hotel, as company has no objections.
My daughter is really missing father as she is young , so i applied again.
Details:
I am self sponsoring for myself and my daughter. As i am working i have no intention to stay there and also my daughter has to come back school.
Last time counselor asked basic question like why ? where ? what you are doing? ..etc and rejected with 214b.
He did not even ask for any documents, though i had all docs such as bank documents, house sale deed, flight tickets.
So i need help to prove strong ties to home country and also tips to avoid 214b. though counsellor do not ask for documents
i have applied for visa again. can someone help me with the questions and post answers to get visa.

B2 Visa rejected with 214B
Hi All,

I would like to narrate my experience yesterday at the Mumbai Consulate.
My background:- 26 years old. I am a Research and Development Engineer at a reputed product based MNC in Bangalore. I earn about 56k per month and have a decent bank balance(upward of 10L). I had mentioned in the DS-160 that I would intend to visit the US for my vacation. I was due to arrive on the 22nd of December ,2017 and leave the US on the 3rd of Jan,2018. I stay with my family(parents and sibling) in Bangalore and we have been here since 1990.

This is how my interview went:-
CO:- Good morning. Please pass me your passport.
Me:- Good morning sir. (Gave him the passport).

CO:- Why do you want to visit the US sir?
Me:- I want to visit the US for my vacation and spend my Christmas and New Years Eve there.

CO:- Are you working with XYZ company?
Me:- Yes. I am working with XYZ company.

CO:- How long have you been working with them?
Me:- I have been working with them for 4 years and 5 months now.

CO:- Where will you stay in the US?
Me:- I will be staying in San Jose.

CO:- With whom will you be staying there?
Me:- I will be staying with my friend < friend's name >

CO:- I am sorry sir but I wlll not be able to approve your visa. I am sorry. (Hands me the passport with 214b sheet).

My question is - I was not asked for any documents. I was carrying my employment letter, my payslips, my ITR, my bank statements, my leave certificate, my flight tickets(both to and fro), my friend's invite letter and her payslips. I have mentioned all the relevant information in the DS-160 as well. Why was my visa denied? I would also like to know the steps I need to take to get the B2 visa since unfortunately i have booked a non refundable flight ticket( I know I'm stupid) and I will lose all that money for no reason if I am not able to go.

What documentation can help me get the VISA? I honestly have a great job back here in Bangalore and have been here my whole life. I only intend to travel for the stipulated period.

b1/b2 visa approved the very first attempt
Thanks to everyone on this site to have helped me so much during the time of preparation.

Applied for - b1/b2 visa.

First day biometric was at - 12.30 PM.
Reach around 12.20. Not before that.
It moves like a robot process and super-fast. There are people to check ur passport/appointment conformation letter, based on which they ask you to walk in a queue. All you have to do is walk.
Finally, you are called to a desk wherein they will take the photo and finger print.
Audio is not clear. Try to concentrate when you are asked questions.

Second day was the visa interview day - My appointment was at 10.00 AM and I reached at 9.30 AM sharp.
I went and stood at the end of the line. That is when I heard the person in front of me say his interview is at 10.30. I panicked a bit, went and spoke to the guard immediately. He sent me inside immediately. Therefore i had no standing in the line. :)
My advise - reach just 30 minutes early, in that way you don't have to stand in the line for long. Just reach there and enter the centre.

Then there was multiple people chekcing the passport. At the end of it Interview.

Questions asked -
1. Where US office are you travelling to. ( I work in a MNC, that has multiple offices in the US). -- california
2. How many days? ---- 6 weeks.
3. What is your years of experience? ----- 5 years 6 months.
4. What is your annual salary? (Pretty good)

and he said "YOUR VISA IS APPROVED"

I think i was lucky to be able to ride on my company's name.
If you work in a big MNC, just chill, and be calm. The calmer and the more confident you are the more chances of you to get through it.
Getting VISA is not the end of the world. All the best to everyone applying.

MY SUGGESTIONS
1. Be decently dressed. Business casual or Formals does not matter. I wore business casuals.
2. Take deep breaths when standing in the line for interview. It is very natural to get tensed. When you reach the interview station if you are not calm, answering the first two questions can get really difficult.
3. Don't listen to others interview. What you hear is fine. But don't try to listen to anyone. Instead sing a song, think about something you like.
4. Once at the interview station, there is a mike for you to tell your replies. I would suggest you to speak into the mike. so that the interviewer is able to hear properly. There was a candidate in front of me who even after repeated remainders was not properly speaking into the mike. I feel the interviewer got a bit pissed off with that.

Parents' B2 visa refused while my I-485 is pending
Hello All,

This forum is really helpful for me for both my I-485 applications and recent parents' B2 visa application. I am going to share our experience, and will appreciate any suggestions on the scenario:

I have applied for I-485 (Green Card) through my spouse who is a US citizen. Though the application is pending, we wanted to invite my parents looking at other examples like me in different forums. Here are the questions they asked my father (retired college teacher, 60+), and my mother (house-wife, 50+) who applied being self-sponsored:

VO: Why do you want to go to US?
Father: To visit my son and daughter-in-law.
VO: What does your son do?
Father: (told my job)
VO: In which institution?
Father: (told my institution)
VO: Can you give me your son's documents?
Father: (Gave my EAD, Passport, Previous Visa etc.)
VO: What do you do?
Father: I am a retired government college teacher and worked in XYZ college.
VO: How much you earn every month now?
Father: (told his income).
VO: Based on the documents we are not satisfied. Your visa is rejected.
Father: Here is our daughter-in-law's document as well, do you want to check it.
VO: No need! Thank you.

Now, we are going to apply again. But before that can you please suggest any change that we should do? We had property documents, bank statements etc but they didn't want to check at all. It looked like VO was stuck looking at my EAD for a while. But me being a pending green-card applicant, does it put any red flag on my parent's application? Any insight will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Inquiring for tourist visa (Urgent) - Pls guide
Hi there!

I wanted to inquire about the following case:

My best friend is staying in Michigan for the last 3 years on a student visa. She did her masters there and is now working in a hospital. Soon, she will have her student visa stay letter renewed. Now, she wants to invite her mother, me and my mother for a short 10-12 days trip to the U.S. (particularly Michigan). But she is not sure if she can do that or not. She is ready to give the letter of invitation, her job details, bank statement, etc.

Here are more details:

My friend has been doing jobs there for more than 1.5 years. Yearly income would be more than $30K-40K. Yet to appear for her exam for a physiotherapist's license.

Details of her mother:

Age: 60+
Bank balance: more than sufficient to fund her trip
Property: yes
Pension: yes (was previously working with a govt. bank)
Previous travel history: none
Family: Husband (working), son (studying)- all based out of India

Details of my mother:
Age: 60
Bank balance: more than sufficient to fund her trip
Property: yes
Currently employed as a teacher with the same school for more than 8 years now (income is around 20K per month), however, she doesn't get salary in account or cheque. So, won't have pay slips or ITR.
Previous travel history: none
Family: Daughter (me), husband (working), son (working)- all based out of India

My details:

Age: 29
Bank balance: more than sufficient to fund my trip
Property: yes
Currently employed (income around 75K per month). Salary slips, ITR available
Previous travel history: none, but have a Canadian PR
Family: Mother (working), father (working), brother (working)- all based out of India

My questions:

1. Can she give letter of invitation to 3 of us when she is on a student visa in spite of her job?

2. While I am less keen to travel to U.S. right now because I already am going to Canada in a few months, if I and my mom apply together, will my mom have a stronger possibility of getting the visa?

3. What are the chances if my mom and her mom apply together stating the obvious reason of their visit to meet my friend for 10-12 days? I will not apply in that case then.

3. Should her mom and my mom apply separately?

4. The best way to ensure that both my mom and her mom get the visa? I can catch up with my friend later as traveling from Canada to US (for me) or US to Canada (for her) is easier than doing it right now. Obviously, I am wanting to save on the cost for me at least.

Please help us prepare our case so that there are minimum chances of a rejection.

Thanks
Teejay
