Need some suggestions/opinion- B1/B2 visa for father denied 2 times
Hi everybody,
I am in real dilemma on what i should do now to get my father a B1/B2 visa.

Here is some background (may be one of a kind) about his situation.

I am currently on H1B visa staying in US. I wanted my parents to visit me here in the US. My parents applied for a tourist visa for the first time earlier this year in March (i was the sponsor).
They both got their visa approved. And they were preparing to travel to US in the month of June.
Everything was going great. Just 2 days before their travel, they found out that my fathers visa got damaged (some one some how burnt about 95% of it :( ) We were surprised, sad and disheartened. We still dont know who did it.
I postponed their trip by another month and applied for a new visa. The embassy sent him a letter to get a new passport and directly come to new delhi embassy for interview.

Things took a while and he eventually went for interview with his new passport and was denied visa for 214b.

Questions about the visa damage were asked and my father was nervous since he didnt knew what was going to happen but her answered all of it.

(i am not sure if i did it right, i asked him to apply again considering i was going to lose money for their non-refundable tickets that are still sitting with the airline). This time he was denied again for 214b. This time also they looked at the old passport.

My father is a mason contractor/supervisor and earn about 15k per month. My mom is a homemaker. I have a younger brother who is studying.

Need some suggestions on when and how should i tackle this situation to get him a visa. Please help!

TIA

B1/B2 Visa Approved
So i have had a few bad experiences on denied schengen visa and i had absolutely no hope in getting my B1/B2 visa.

Interview was today at US Consulate, Nairobi Kenya
*No correct photo - sent to get a correct one
*Fingerprints done
*Wait for my nr to be called

While in the queue i saw more than 7 people get denied. Only two got approved within the 20 minutes i was in the queue inside. Unfortunately i have to go to the counter with the grim lady. My heart sunk a little as she was with another gentleman sitted behind her and they seemed to be sharing the information. Only counter with 2 people..

CO: Halo how are you
Me: Responds
CO: Why are you going to US
Me: To attend a conference
CO: What is the conference about and where is it?
Me: Dallas, Texas
CO: Why were you chosen for this trip
Me: Responds
Note; I was a little skeptic as this conference had nothing to do with my duties at work
CO: How long will you be there
Me: Conference 7 days and an extra 5 days for sight seeing (2 weeks)
CO: Are you married?
Me: No
CO: Do you have kids?
Me: No
Given am only 25 no kids no husband i knew no chance for me.
CO: Who is your employer and how long have you worked for them?
Me: Responds
CO: Who will be paying for the trip?
Me: My employer
CO: Have you ever traveled for business outside kenya?
Me: I have attended a training in Dubai (5 days) (CO scans through my passport checking for UAE stamp i guess.) Finds i traveled twice to Dubai, 2016 and 2017 each a week.
CO: Can i see your work documents
Me: Hands them over but she doesn't look at them just passes them to the gentleman behind her
She turns off the microphone and turns to consult the gentleman. The few seconds that i waited was a pain and i could just stare at the blue slips and think that was way too far fetched for me.

CO Turns back microphone and says those golden words "You will be issued the visa, go to counter 10 and make the payments"
Me: My heart was singing cathedrals at this point and i went and paid.
Awaiting my visa on Friday!

Thanks so much guys. Before the interview i went through the experiences and this helped me prep myself. Good luck to everyone.
Thanks

Request your suggestions on my attempt to apply for B2 visa. Planning to schedule the interview in mid sept 2017.

Travellers:

Mother, 68 yrs: (still working in a private high school as a teacher)
Myself, 32 yrs single (10 years exp in MNC)

Purpose of travel:
Sibling's (sister) wedding, H1 visa holder

Here's a little background: I had applied for student visa thrice in the past( 2015 & 2016 ) without any success:(. Currently I am not employed for almost a year (parent's health and my unsuccessful trials for a student visa)

Last travelled internationally (Thailand) in 2009
I own a flat and have about 9 lac as FD

Please advice on how my approach should be while facing the interview and what can be the possible questions asked by the VO and how can I convince on my strong ties to homeland

Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated as this is the first wedding in our family and we are very eager to attend the wedding. Thanks so much in advance!!

Handling passport to VO before interview?
Has anyone tried to give an extra list of all docs you are carrying with you in your supporting documents file while handling passport to VO?
What if i give passport + index list of my supporting documents? It would be beneficial or not?
