B2 Visa Experience - Hyderabad, India
I have been planning to visit the US for quite a while and I thought now I must go since I have been to almost all famous countries in Europe, Asia and Middle East.

A little bit of background about me - I work as a product manager for a tech startup in Bangalore. I am 26, Single and do not own a house and neither I have ton of money saved.

I was a bit skeptic on my application as one can say I do not have strong ties to India, but since I have been to 26 countries and have never overstayed on any visa, I thought of taking a chance and apply.

I applied in Hyderabad for a B2 Tourist visa. I arrived at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM interview appointment. I was in the interview queue within 10 minutes of entering the embassy after going through a security check.

After about 10 minutes, my turn came and here's how the interview went:

VO : Hello there! Why do want to go to US?
ME : Good morning, I would like to go as tourist for 10 days to spend my holidays in November.

VO : Where would you go?
ME : I am planning to go to New York, Los Angeles and San Fransisco.

VO : When?
ME : 25th Nov.

VO : What would you do in New York?
ME : I would take a bus tour that would cover major attractions of the city, then the next day I would fly to buffalo to visit Niagara falls.

VO : Who's going with you?
ME : I am traveling by myself.

VO : Who's paying for you?
ME : I will

VO : How much do you earn?
ME : XX LPA.

VO : Can I see your IT return?
ME : Presented

VO : How long have you been working with your current employers?
ME : It's been more than 2 years.

VO : Have you traveled out of India before?
ME : Yes ma'am, I have been to 25 countries overall.

VO : Have you been to Europe?
ME : Yes.

VO : Where in EU?
ME : 13 countries - I named a few and then said its hard for me to remember all :)

VO : And where did you visit last outside India?
ME : UAE, in August.

VO : How many days you will stay in the US?
ME : 10 days

VO : Are you married?
ME : No ma'am.

VO : Do you own a house?
ME : No ma'am

VO : You can take back your IT return (she started typing, and my heart started to sink)

VO : Your visa is approved, have a safe trip!

God bless America :)

B2 for a couple
Hi Users,
thanks for immihelp for this awesome and helpful website.

I and my girlfriend (not my wife, we have been together for 5 years) would like to claim a B2 Visa.
Hungarians can claim ESTA for 3 month stay. I've been in USA (Los Angeles) for a month with my girlfriend with ESTA, but I would like to stay there for 6 months because I would need a very long rest after years of very hard and stressful working.

I'm the leader of a non-profit organization. I found it 4 years ago, it still works, we have a contract with the owner os the property for 2 years.
I have my own flat in Budapest.
I have an another official job, I'm employment in my father's business.
I'm a freelancer website developer also, my girlfriend gets contracts, then I provide the websites to her clients.

My girlfriend has an online shop, she sells design stuff, backpacks, earrings, rings, stamps, and she is the boss of our website development business.

I have strong ties (I don't know if is enough), but I afraid my girlfriend's background is weak for apply for any visa.

Please help me out with some advice, what document should we provide, what shouldn't. How should we show to the VO I really would like to come home, I wouldn't like to move to USA permanently.

As I've seen on this forum, there are a lot of people who have car, flat, work and have been rejected without any reason. That's why I started to doubt my chances. I supposed this gonna be a very smooth seamless route, now I feel we won't get any visa, plus they will delete our ESTA also. XD

So, please give me any advice that you can give based on our situation. This is my dream, it can come true after 5 years hard work, I hope VO won't break my heart and dreams. :)

Thanks,
Ant

Visitor visa experience of my parents
Hello,
This forum has been a great source of experiences, inputs and leads on US visa. I was obviously drawn to this blog for want of answers when I was clueless.

Based on my personal experience, I feel that the US embassy could have cut down on the needless red tapism and bureaucracy and spare genuine travellers with the advanced technology that they use.
About myself, I have come from a humble background, a son of an auto driver and a beedi worker in southern India. I have been in the US for the past 9 years in the IT industry.

It was a dream of mine to bring my parents to the US and look after them for what I am today. When my parents decided to come over and join me for short while, they were blocked by three refusals in three years, may be due to their rugged looks and illiterate background. I even got the recommendation from our Senator which did not work. They would not even respond to emails from the senator’s office.

Vexed, my wife did some research and found these guys called Visa Vikings. Not sure what to expect, we eventually availed their service to see if the can give some help on facing the visa interview. They got their visa on their fourth attempt and 2 months after their refusal. We are extremely relieved that my parents do not have to go through this process any more.

From my experience, my humble suggestion who are in a similar position as I was, please do some research and find who can help you instead of toying with time and various combinations. I will still be following the blogs and try to help anyone who needs it. Good luck!

because the othe black african man behind the counter number 3 face was o tight and very hurry while we saw many people cry out after their interview with him so both of us were lil afraid of his reaction asking ourself why this man can denied many visa. but the white woman counter 1 done great job with smile and hear she's understanding when people gave esplanation on their paper work issue and granted many candidate with honesty.

B2 Visa-Chennai-Denied-Money Scam-Worst People
WHOLE VISA PROCESS IS A SCAM OF EARNING NON-REFUNDABLE MONEY.

Let me explain exactly how it happened.

My brother working in San Francisco, invited me for this Christmas to visit LA.

He sent me every damn bunch of all documents to support my applications.

I applied DS-160 and expected to get B2 for 4 weeks (Clearly mentioned stay duration)

I went to Chennai from Bangalore, Sunday 24th at VAC, fingerprint submitted.

Then come the Visa interview at 10 AM, US Consulate general.

Bad luck, my counsellor was American, aged about 35-40.

I was in formal and confident as I was prepared whole night Do's and Dont's.

CO: What is your work?
Me: I am an aerospace engineer in Capgemini, Bangalore.
CO: What is your salary.
Me: ABC K per Month
CO:What is your qualification.
Me: Diploma Mechanical
CO: MS?
Me: No
CO: Have you ever been to US.
Me: No
CO: Any other countries.
Me: Yes, I went to UAE for one week vacation.
CO: I appreciate yo came. But I can not give you a visa now. You can reapply later.
Me: When can I reapply.
CO: Anytime ! Given a denial form 214(b)

Note:
I was in the line with 80 people inside, fake people will be shouting keep your documents ready and all. When you go to the counter no one ask for any documents at least for 20 min I was inside and no one bother to check documents. They are in a hurry not to give Visa to many people but attend as many people they can, 10880 rupees per person...wao OMG. 3 time you try 50K gone including other expenses.

THE NON REFUNDABLE MONEY GAME., SPECIALLY IN CHENNAI (MY OBSERVATION)

Brothers and sisters, you will not get a answer why visa got denied, mystery.

Why the hell I am gonna stay in US after VISA expires? I have everything in INDIA.
If my salary in less, i have a good bank balance, i own businesses !!!

Party spoilers are these Americans. If I became PM, I will kick out of India. Don't come to my country to earn money if you can't allow other country people to do the same to you.

Do less counselling per day but do it properly, check all documents, have a good discussion for 10-15 min and then you have every rights to deny or give VISA.

If any of your scenario is similar with mine, do not go to Chennai. Save single rupee for you. I bet you will never get B2 at least.

Regards
Deb, Bangalore

Visitor Visa(B2) Interview Experience_Sep 22,2017
Hi All,
Here is my B2 visa interview experience.
We three sisters(S1,S2,S3) attended the group interview and even we knew English we asked for telugu interpreter as it will be easy to understand questions.
Consulate : Hyderabad
Counter:16
Date:22-09-2017
Status : Rejected

VO: What is the relation between three of you?
me: We both(S1,S2) are own sisters,S3 is our cousin.

VO: What are you doing?(asked this question to S1)
S1: I did my masters, previously worked and as I got engaged took a break from work.

VO: What is purpose of your Visit?
me: We are going to attend our sister's marriage. we planned for 3 weeks vacation,1 week of wedding celebrations and remaining 2 weeks to visit some places in US.

VO: Is she own sister to both of you?(pointed to me and my own sister)
me: No, she is our cousin.

VO:Is she own sister to you?(pointing to our cousin)
S3:No,she is my cousin.

VO: she is not own sister to any of you three?
me: she is our dad's brother's daughter, she is cousin to three of us but same surname.

VO: What are you doing?(pointing to me and my cousin S3)
me & S3: working as so (should match with DS160)and so in so and so company.

VO:Package?
me & S3:so and so amount.(should match DS160)

VO:R u married?
me & S3 :No

VO:Have ever went out of INDIA?
me & S3:No

VO:Typed something in system and given 214B and said "SORRY,AS PER US LAWS WE CANT GIVE YOU VISA FOR THIS TIME"

we think the reason for rejection is as the person getting married in US is NOT OWN sister to any of us and more over we (S2,S3) are unmarried and as he stressed the OWN sister question that is reason for rejection.

over all interview happened for 3 - 4 minutes.
Thank you. hope this will be useful.

US B1/B2 given for 3 months only - renewal?
I am a PhD student in Computer Science from Lucknow India. I was planning to attend academic conference in USA from 9th to 13th August. There were no dates for interview in New Delhi during July, so I chose Kolkata(also my hometown). Officer gave Section 221(g), case held for 2 months. Got (B1/B2) visa this week - Single entry till Dec 2017 only.

I have another academic conference in USA in Jan 2018.

How do I go for a successful interview and visa renewal now? Or can I do without an interview?
