221(G) Tracker

hi I am writing this email to get an update on my application (AA00) for the US visa. I applied and went there for my interview in Calgary on 7th March, 2022. The next day on 8th March i got a follow-up email with 12 questions. I replied back on 9th March with my 12 answers. (I have attached the email which was sent to me under this email) I got my passport back on 12th March by mail with a yellow paper, this yellow paper mentioned that they will inform us by email. I haven’t heard back since then. I am a Commercial Truck Driver and for my employment I have made this visa request. My company requires me to drive to the United States of America for my deliveries today 155 days complate still i am waiting

We had a Dropbox appointment on June 3rd, the H1b and h4 Spouse were issued visa but the h4 kids age 11 and 15 were asked to come for interview at the Delhi embassy. We went for the interview along with the kids. The 15 yr kid’s visa was approved after the fingerprint and interview, but the 11 yr old was put on a administrative processing and got ds5535. It’s been 50 days now but no update. We have tried the senator route too, but we got the same generic reply. I have never heard a 11 yr old put on an admin processing before. If there is anyone in the same situation, can you share your experience?

3-8-22: L1A interview (third renewal). Email from consulate requesting DS-5535 sent hours after interview. Passports for myself and my two L2 dependents were collected and I-129S was returned with approval signature/stamp. 3-10-22: DS-5535 was filled out and sent to the consulate. DS-160 status shows refused 8-02-22: Still refused, no update, generic answers from consulate After 4 months undergoing administrative processing waiting for my visa and my family's, I became a permanent resident, which in itself would be great news, but it left my family stranded since they can no longer have L2s on an L1 that doesn't exist. we're trying everything to get them back home and not have to separate the family, but it's not looking good. My wife already lost her job since she won't have an L2 to come back with 221g and DS-5535 are not a death sentence to your visa process, but it breaks lives, families. I sincerely wish the rest for the rest of you who're waiting, may your wait be done soon

March 7 - Dropbox appointment March 16 - Received passport without visa and received 221g white slip asking to schedule an in person interview March 28 - Interview seemed fine, but VO said she needs to go through more documentation regarding employers and requested to email the documents and handed me the yellow 221g slip. Thought I'd share, I don't feel positive because it is taking too long. I will try and update this if or when anything changes, but personally I have mentally moved on.

Still Pending after 81 days. Approved after July 19th, 2022

Working with my current employer (direct FTE) for over four years now. 1st H1B was stamped (though they had issued 221g last time as well, issued white slip requesting to submit word doc about resume, research, travel etc. and employment/invitation letter). It took full 6 weeks for things to process back then from interview till stamping. This time also VO was mostly concerned with my past job switch when I worked on OPT. My previous employer had filed my H1B. While we awaited lottery decision I switched jobs. The employer did not withdraw my H1B petition after the switch. The job switch was done on STEM OPT as that status was active. Later my H1B was picked and approved so my current employer filed for a transfer for petition. No issues there. Issue arises only during the stamping interview. Not sure what concerns they have with my switch. As every step what my past and current employers did was seeking legal advice.

Received DS-5535 Form for Security Clearance Processing and was told that the documents will be sent to Washington DC for verification. Took 14 working days - approx 20 normal days

Timeline: -> May 24, 2022 - Appeared for interview, however, application refused and asked to submit DS-3035 (waiver for 2-year home country stay under 212(e)). Submitted advisory opinion letter that says "not subject" to 212(e) rule. DS-3035 or waiver is not needed as the advisory opinion letter clearly states. Status: "refused" -> June 17, 2022 - Email received to submit a copy of the H1B petition via email. Submitted promptly. Status: not updated and still "refused" as of May 24, 2022. -> June 27, 2022 - CEAC status changed from "Refused" to "Administrative Processing" -> June 30, 2022 - Passport submission requested -> July 1, 2022 - Passport submitted -> July 6, 2022 - status changed to "Issued". Email received to collect passport.

Profile: First time H1B stamping. F1 OPT, cap gap, H1 all working in the US at an aerospace company 5/31 - Interview at Delhi consulate. VO asked basic questions about my role, practical applications, highest degree and pay. Then handed me a yellow slip and asked to go to another counter. There I was asked to email my resume, work experience, research, travel itinerary and purpose to [email protected]. Emailed all the documents the same day The CEAC website showed refused 6/23 - Got an email to submit my passport to the nearest drop off. CEAC still showed refused 6/24 - Dropped off in Mumbai 6/28 - Status changed to Administrative Processing 6/29 - Changed to Issued While waiting I had sent emails to [email protected], received a generic response, and [email protected] - received an auto response. There sadly is nothing to do but wait, and hopefully this case gives you somewhat of an estimate for how long! Still not sure why I received a 221g but I'd guess TAL

Interview on June 1/2022 for J2 visa, J1 approved 30 minutes earlier than my interview by a different officer than mine. I was given a white 221g paper and a form with 3 questions (past 5 years work experience, previous travel history, past 5 years residence) that I submitted on spot. My DS 2019 form was stamped by VO and a pamphlet explaining my rights given but my passport was returned. VO said to expect a call but none so far. 🤔, wrote an email on 13th of June to the embassy but said that my case is still under AP. 17th of June - asked to bring passport 21st of June - submitted passport and CEAC changed to Issued on 22nd of June.
