Was asked about my host's CV and research plan, sent those the same day.
Followed up with the embassy next week, was told that will take 90 days. Emailed them again the following week, got the passport request on 11 Feb 2022.
I followed https://www.argovisa.com/ videos on how to contact the Visa officer, Anyone facing a 221G, please email them in a respectful manner regularly.. like every week or so. VO are also human beings and they do understand applicants concerns and requests.

Came to India for O-1 Visa stamping in early September 2021. Had originally Delhi slot for January 31, 2022. Then I got another slot at Mumbai for January 12, 2022. That was the start of my bad luck I guess. People with March 2022 appointments at Delhi back in September 2021 even got emergency appointment requests approved easily but mine got denied twice at Mumbai.
About the interview:
After long wait, had interview at Mumbai on January 12, 2022. Not much questions asked. Officer was a white male about 45 yo, and slightly bald. Received 221g asking for Resume, offer letter, publications, research history, etc. Submitted the documents by email the next day.
Still do not know how long this would take :/

Hello,
I gave my first time h1b interview (f1 to h1) on Dec 13. After basic questions, VO asked me for client letter and I gave it to her. She tole me that they need to verify it and gave me 221g white slip and asked me to collect my passport at another counter. At another counter, an Indian lady took my LCA and asked few questions about my client and returned my passport. On Dec 21, my manager received email from the consulate and he responded on the same day. Since then there is no update. Does anybody experienced the same or in similar situation?

After two interviews, I was given a white 221g letter written in blue, The consular asked me to send the oldest expired passport I have via courier and email. I sent both, however, the NIV email address always reply with an automatic message asking me to take it a final answer. I don't know how to contact the consulate else than the courier to which I sent the passport.

Hi,
I had my Visa interview on 18 May 2021 under emergency appointment,
interview was normal, VO took copies of my H1 approval notice, client letter and kept my passport informing me that everything is ok but they need to do some background verification on my case and I will get my passport within a week or 10 days after completion of verification with stamping.
(I had my f1 visa and residing in US since 2015).
My ceac status showed refused from 05/18/2021(interview date)
later date got updated to 06/01/2021
since than there is no update I have not received any slip or my passport back waited for nearly 10 months.
