Got a general yellow note saying Administrative processing required on my Sevis history and that it should take between 2-3 weeks. I guess its not the yellow slip with the case number written for the usual 221g cases.
3rd week over and no news yet. Status been in admin processing since March 4th.
Update: Tracker shows Issued on 15th April. Hopefully I get it in a couple of days.

9 Sep 2018: Biometrics
10 Sep 2018: First Interview. Yellow Slip requesting documents like offer letter, paystubs, client letter, project details
20 Sep 2018: Company's attorney submits all documents
22 Oct 2018: Additional Documents requested (Tax returns, Bank statements etc)
14 Nov 2018: Invited for another interview
15 Nov 2018: Interview went well. Passport collected. But also given a green slip this time saying AP.
22 Nov 2018: Email to pick up the passport
25 Nov 2018: Passport picked. No stamp. Another Green slip in the passport. Frustration.
No update on my follow-ups since then. Left hopes. And one fine day,
13 March 2019: DHS officer visits my employer to check if I was ever an employee. Company personnel gave all the details and mentioned how they need me there.
08 April 2019: Email to submit passport, I-797 Copy, 221g receipt.
09 April 2019: Passport submitted
15 April 2019: Status changed to Issued

Jan 23rd : Went for my H1b renewal stamping on Jan 23rd, was given a 221g white slip. have been with same employer for 11 years and was my 3rd Visa stamping

April 4th : Senator did an immigration inquiry on my case after 60 days and he was informed that they are waiting on my passport, My VO collected my passport on the day of interview along with other documents so that leaves me baffled to the situation where i stand. Is there
anyone who is in my shoes.

April 12th : Collected passport from VAC center but original I-797 and Other documents which were submitted during interview were not returned.
Status : Issued, None of the original documents which were retained during Visa interview by Visa officer were returned with passport.

My wife had an interview for changing H4 to F1 and they said visa has been approved and after 2 week she received a mail saying case has been refused under 221 g. Mail had a questionnaire asking last 15 years of employment history, travel history and some other basic stuffs.
She replied on that day itself and it been on administrative process since.
She didn't traveled anywhere else, didnt had any crime history or any other things they usually flagged for this 221 g. Really frustrating when they dont give reasons for holding and not replying to any mails.

My i797 approved for 3 years
Mar 7 -> qualified for dropbox and dropped off my documents
Mar 11 -> Admin processing
Mar 14 -> got email to collect passport
Mar 15 -> collected passport -> got blue slip and asked me to come for in-person interview
Mar 18 -> Appeared for interivew... Ask basic questions about employer and got client letter, lca... and gave me a yellow slip for waiting
waited for an hour and called by the same VO , they took the yellow slip gave my documents back and gave a blue slip (refused under 221(g))
Waiting for update.. case still in admin processing
Mar 9th -> received email for submitting passport
Mar 12 -> Status changed to issued.

11th - Issued status change and collected the passport on the same day.
1st Update from Embassy : 5th April(Friday) - Asking to Submit Passport. Submitted the passport on 8th April(Monday).
CEAC Status update to Issued & collect passport got updated today 11th April. I also collected the passport today.
Overall it took more than 6 months from the interview date. In the meanwhile I had reached out to senator office , legalnet and other available options.

I applied for a O visa to be stamped on Dec 17. It is now Jan 31 and I am still waiting. Word of caution to all (esp of Pakistani origin) who think that O visa's will have an easier time with administrative processing. No such luck so far. I'll update my status once I hear back.

Hi guys,
An update. Almost 4 months later I did get my visa stamped in my passport. My status online on the CEAC website says "refused" however the embassy asked for my passport back and stamped it.
So I guess there can be a discrepancy between your visa status online and the instructions the embassy receives about your visa. Word of caution to folks from Pakistan - you can reasonably expect up to a 4 month wait in administrative processing.
