hi,
i have this problem since February 18th, and my school is going to start on March 28th. The consular staff put me on a hold which is under section 221g, so i really do not know what to do in this situation, and i tried to contact with consulate many times to tell them that my school is going to start very soon and they only inform me to wait!!
please is there any way to reach them to inform them about my visa case and school situation??

Received a 221g white slip for my H1B renewal (2nd renewal since I have an approved I-140), officer had asked for my I-140 approval and I did not have it with me. The slip had instructions to email the consulate with the documents which I did within 2 hours. I also asked for a timeline and received a response same day that it will take only 2-4 business days. That was good news since I was afraid of a delayed 3-4 weeks processing. My DS160 status was as follows:
03/14 - Administrative Processing
03/15 - Issued
03/16 - Passport delivered to post office

I work in the area of biotechnology. So, a 221g was expected. The visa officer asked a few questions regarding my company, if I work for any client (I am a direct employee) and whether I am married or not. Then he assigned a 221g to me and briefly explained the process. Later, another person in another counter asked to submit my current CV with list of publications and a document containing answers to four questions related to my research and work.
The process was identical to the one in 2013, that time also I got another 221g which was cleared in four weeks.
I submitted the doc in very early next morning on 24th February.
Yesterday first observed the change of status update date to 15th March, though it is still in AP. Let's see how it goes.
On 16th Match, just now, the status is changed to issued. Hopefully would collect by Friday.

VO asked basic questions regarding project type n project details, salary and job duties.
VO found some query related to client he did more research in database, he was not looking satisfied with client information so he gave me 221g white slip with 5 options ticked.
Documents needs to be submitted by petitioner than I am suppose to get a call from consulate to submit passport at nearest VFS.
Docs submitted: 12th Feb 2016 but there is no states update in CEAC till now.
Can anyone suggest me how long it could take?

11th march : 11.30am received email to submit passport and submitted on the same day.
14th march : first status change around 11.30am only change in date. status was showing AP
15th march : status changed to 'issued'

My wife and me attended the interview along with our 11 week old daughter. I was renewing an H1 visa and my wife was getting a new H4 visa. We were asked about our education and current employment.
I was specifically asked why I was working in technology when I studied aerospace engineering. I responded that my specialization was programming related which is why it was a natural fit for me. We were then asked for our resumes and employment histories.
Since we did not have it on us, we had to email it to the embassy. We sent the emails the same day and recieved confirmations that they have been recieved.
