May 31st Bio-metric
Received a job offer and start date July 15th.
July 10th visited congressman's office to expedite with job offer letter.
July 18th filed an expedite request over the phone based on financial loss.
July 24th received e-mail to fax evidence for expedite. Faxed job offer letter and explanation letter on same day.
July 25th received e-mail from USCIS confirming evidence was received.
Managed to buy time with company saying I visited congress to expedite and they were okay to give me a few weeks.
July 31st followed up with congress but they had not received any feedback. Told me they have to wait at least 30 days before following up with USCIS.
August 3rd so damn frustrated.
August 5th congress office called to inform that expedite request was accepted.
August 6th Case status online changed to 'EAD card is being produced'
August 8th I-485 ready to be scheduled for interview and USPS picked up EAD.
August 10th Received EAD card in mail.
I can start work immediately. Was just as frustrated as many of you. Thank you for everyone posting on this forum which helped keep my sanity. And the rest of you hang in there!

Has anyone received EAD within 5 months from national benefits center? The USCIS website says it will take 2.5 to 5 months....

So I've been a silent reader and thought I would add my timeline too

June 14 2019: 'Case ready to be scheduled for an interview'
July 31st: I sent a SR about my EAD which they responded to later that day in the evening. It wasn't helpful as they said my biometrics was still valid which isn't what I asked.
August 1st: Interview was scheduled', receipt sent
August 5th: Called customer service about EAD early in the morning at 8 30 but they couldn't help me, only could tell me what I already see in my Uscis.gov account.
At around midday I spoke to an executive representative through Emma on uscis website. Rep gave good news that my EAD card finally got sent to production that day.
August 8th: Received receipt in mail that i765 (EAD) application was approved
August 9th: Received i485 interview notice receipt. Interview scheduled for September 5th, 2019
Tomorrow August 10th: EAD will be delivered to my mailbox. I will definitely out there waiting for the mail man. It's already at my nearby post office as I have Usps informed delivery..
Finally the wait will soon be over!

08/05/2019 Called ucsis and new request made,
08/05/2019 Site says officer sent response and completed but never received email
08/06/2019 Called Ucsis again and asked them where is the mail, Waited 4 hours to talk with Tier 1
08/06/2019 She forwarded that email, They requested evidence
08/06/2019 Faxed the documents same day
After this date, Online has been changing every day, it updates itself , On 08/06 it was saying case was completed , today it says same thing with today's date 08/09
Does that mean there is an update on processing ? Online still shows case was received nothing changed
If anyone has an idea and share with me, I would be appreciated

why is USCIS so slow
I am amazed at the many difficult stories here, and I am truly baffled as to why it takes so long to process the work permit. My spouse has an L2 visa... she gets the automatic right to a work permit, but still have to wait 5+ months, apparently, to get the EAD card.
Why.. why is USCIS even needed. What is their purpose?

08/06/2019 We approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.
08/07/2019 We mailed your new card your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, directly to the address you gave us
8/9/2019 I received I-797 instead of cards.
The tracking number they gave me for the card is I-797. I was thinking about the card. Please advise if it works this way.
