I checked the option in the I765 to apply for a SSN but i dont know if this is enough.

EAD expedite -C09
Hi Friends,

I want to do expedite my EAD due to financial hardships.

I called USCIS today and they have created Service request. In the mean time.. do we need to anything parallel?

reasons, Medical bills and living expenses are more than what we earn. I am getting job interviews but because of no EAD, i am not in a position to get offer.

Anyone, please suggest. what else we can do now. Can we contact Ombudsman or congressman parallel or we should wait till we get the update from service request.

Please help.

Thanks

Can I travel overseas with EAD Renew Letter from USCIS
Hello,

USCIS received my EAD Renewal Case on 09/27/2018 then I got a letter on October/2018 saying that I can work for 180 days after the expiration.

How's the average to get a EAD? Since it was received by USCIC about 75 days ago.

I was wondering if I can travel oversea with the letter from the USCIS.

Thanks

EAD Approved!
This forum had helped me quite a lot to gauge other people's experiences and see how mine was progressing in comparison. Here's my timeline: (c09)

Pd: July 19 2018
Bio-metrics: August 8 2018
Ready to Schedule Interview: September 22 2018

Called to Expedite my case: October 29
Faxed over evidence of job offer and financial loss (Credit card debt)
Expedite Complete: October 29
**** Crickets **** ***

I changed my Address online from SC to NY(relocated for my wife's work): October 30 2018
Interview Scheduled: October 31 2018

Contacted Congressman to Expedite: November 25 2018

Received Interview Date in mail: November 26 2018 - my interview was scheduled for December in South Carolina
Called USCIS to reschedule to an Albany location: November 26 2018
USCIS online shows interview was rescheduled to Albany: November 29 2018

i-765 Approved: December 3 2018
Post Office picked up Card (tracking number provided to me): December 7 2018
CARD IN HAND: December 10 2018

It might have been contacting my congressman that worked in the end. The case progressed a lot quicker at that point. However, my cousin is also going through the process and has a pd that is one month earlier than mine and our cases moved at the same speed with his EAD coming exactly one month ago.

Processing time after RFE
-If USCIS issues a request for initial evidence on either the Form I-765 application itself or the principal application (for example, Form I-485), the 90-day regulatory timeframe starts over from the date of receipt of the initial evidence (USCIS will reset the “clock” to Day 1 upon receipt of the evidence).

RFE after ‘case is ready to be scheduled for interview’v
Hello! Here’s my timeline c09
Filled I-130 I-765 I-485 I-131
Oct 14
Biometrics Nov 14
Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview Nov 19

I-765 and I-131 are stuck on case was received. The question is did anyone get an RFE after his case status was updated to ‘case is ready to be scheduled for interview’? Or that means there’s nothing missing and they do not require any evidence for I-485 as well as I-765?

260+ DAYS LATER, EAD WAS APPROVED!
Hi all,

I have been a lurker on this forum for months, and today I can finally share my experience to hopefully help some of you.

PD: March 20, 2018
April 21, 2018: Fingerprint review was completed.
Dec 5: Severe financial loss expedite request filed through Senator
TODAY: called USCIS to find out Advanced Parole/EAD was approved!

Today I woke up to an email from my lawyer, letting me know he had contacted USCIS to get an update on my expedite request to find out my EAD/Advanced Parole is approved!

For months my case was stuck on fingerprint review completed.. and I could not take the terrible wait anymore. I was struggling to pay my bills, my savings ran out and my mental health was deteriorating. I finally contacted my lawyer and told him my wife and I could no longer carry on this way.. and that's when things finally started moving. He contacted SENATOR Gillibrand, with an instant liaison and filed a severe financial loss to a person and the company I work for. I had to provide proof I couldn't pay my bills (bank statements, rent payments, cable bill, electric, college loan payments, etc.) and my employer wrote a letter on behalf of their company describing how much of a financial loss they took with me not being there. We had sent everything JUST two days ago.. and then magic happened, my lawyer checked up on my case to find out my advanced parole and EAD had been approved. It was such an early update that not even the website is updated yet. I was told I need to keep an eye on my mailbox for my EAD card! I cannot believe how relieved I am!!

I know this would not have happened without the help of the SENATOR! Please take this advice and contact your CONGRESSMEN / SENATOR and file a severe financial loss expedite. Provide ALL the proof you can showing you're struggling, this means anything from rent, cable bills, to groceries and gas!

I know how painful and long this process is, and this couldn't have happened without me taking the initiative and reaching out for help! I truly hope this advice helps some of you. I feel incredibly blessed to have peace of mind before the holidays. I wish you all the best.

ALSO, if anyone knows how long it may take for my EAD to get here please let me know! Thanks!

P.S. SENATOR! SENATOR! SENATOR!!!

Just received my EAD
For reference, I'm a c09 filer in MA, my case went to NBC. I requested expedite because my work visa was expiring in early December so I needed my EAD to continue working.

Here is my timeline:

Aug 23 - Case received by USCIS (i-130, i-131, i-765, i-485)
Nov 7 (morning) - Biometrics done
Nov 7 (afternoon) - Called USCIS to open an expedite case (based on severe financial loss for myself and husband; and serious hindrance to my nonprofit employer)
Nov 8 - Followup from USCIS - expedite denied because I didn't provide evidence
Nov 8 - Contacted Congressman's office, asked for help in submitting evidence for my expedite case
Nov 9 - Filled out privacy release form
Nov 15 - Congressman's office assigned me a caseworker
Nov 16 - Submitted evidence through caseworker (my evidence included: a letter I wrote explaining my situation, a letter from my employer explaining hardship without my employment, 2017 tax returns for husband and myself, car payments, mortgage payment)
Nov 27 - Expedite approved!
Nov 29 - i765 approved, card in production
Dec 4 - Card mailed (status finally updated online and received a tracking #)
Dec 6 - Card delivered

My advice: if you have evidence of financial hardship to yourself/your employer or a job offer in hand, request an expedite as soon as your biometrics are done! Get your Congressperson's office involved! Follow up with people and make phone calls if you don't hear any updates!

Good luck my friends!
