Case ready to be interviewed (I-485) - 10/12/2018
I am a F1 student on CPT currently. If anyone has any experience with CPT would know that it's the weakest work authorization to work with. The person needs to get an approval from the hiring company and the university every time one gets a new job and need to be renewed every year.
Recently, I just got offered a position with Jan 7th 2019 as the start date. It's a good company but I don't know how much of this situation would they be willing to listen. I have couple of questions on this:
- How does one know where is the application(I-765 EAD) getting processed? my receipts says National Benefits Center. Is that where all the EAD's are processed?
- NBC timeline says 4-6 months, should I considered 4months as an average or 6 months?
- Under what all circumstances can we request for expediting EAD processing?
- Any readers from Houston or Texas area on the same timeline? What has been your experience?
This is giving me sleepless nights, any help would be much appreciated.

How long
Hi, just wondering how long it takes to receive the permit once case approved. I was lucky my case was received in Nov 8 and approved Nov 27 so wondering what next.

Waiting for EAD still
Hello everyone,
I have been reading silently from this forum and using it to get more patience and hope. I live in Washington, DC
My timeline is:
August 29th - Applied for I-765, I-485, I-130 and I-131
September 4 - Notice Receipt from NBC
September 21 - RFE for medical (old form used by Doctor)
October 2 - Biometrics
October 9 - my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, all other applications say "my case was received"
--- crickets---
November 7 - I filed a request to expedite my EAD due to financial loss, was told 5 business days for answer
November 8 - receipt notice for expedite
November 15 - called to follow-up, she sent in another request to expedite
November 15 - sent email to congresswoman via webform
November 29 - submitted request to meet with congresswoman
That's it. Not much action for me really.
1. Anyone with similar timeline as me who is from the DMV area?
2. Is this normal that I have not heard anything about the expedite request?
3. Has anyone contacted Ombudsman before they fell out of normal processing times?
I have a job offer but am now nervous as there is no sign of my EAD and I want to try anything I can to try and get my EAD. Thank you.

EAD renewal (I-765) status stuck in 'new card is being produced' for 36 days

Firstly thank you all for helping others by sharing your experiences.
At present, I am going through a very bad phase with my EAD renewal case.I am seeking all your advice to overcome this problem. My case details are,
8/9/2018: Sent I-765 EAD renewal paperwork to USCIS
8/13/2018: USCIS received the application and accepted it.
8/27/2018: My G-28 form got rejected since it was not filled
10/17/2018: Raised service request to expedite my case under severe financial loss
10/18/2018: My expedite request denied stating the application is under normal processing times.
10/24/2018: The status of my case changed to 'New card is being produced'
10/29/2018: Received I-765 approval notice by mail.
From 10/24 to today(11/29), the status stays in 'new card is being produced'. I called USCIS customer service center many times and every time the response is to wait till up to 60days for the EAD card to be mailed. My old EAD got expired 10/28 and I got 2 weeks approval from my employer. Now I lost the job and do not have an offer in hand.
Can someone help me with the following questions,
1. How much time does USCIS take to send the card after approval?
2. Since I have received an approval notice, can I continue working?
3. Do the valid dates on approval notice will match with EAD card that will produce in 60days?

I came in with L2 dependent visa and took EAD which ends by Jan with my visa. My hubby has applied for extension.Its lik two days back I got a job I am about to join job next week.
So, wanted to know can i apply EAD extension with visa or i need to wait till our visa gets approved if not any other way to extend my EAD till we know our visa status.
Kindly suggest.

Status retrograde ?
My case was showing approved online on November 19. Then they mailed the card to me and showed the different status updates. When it was delivered it said that the card was delivered by the post office.
I just checked and my status went back to November 19 saying the case was approved. Does anyone know why is it not showing the most recent update anymore ?
I have the card in hand so I don’t think it’s an issue but it still looks strange to me.
