EAD approved/Card in production
Hi guys,
I just wanted to thank everybody for sharing their experiences, this forum is what got me through my process and helped with the anxiety. I received an update today that my card was in production as of 9/25 10:30 am PST. Here is my timeline:
PD: 6/11, NBC
Married to USC, filed I-485, I-130 and I-765 concurrently from Orange County, CA.
RFIE received on 7/7, 7/20 response to RFIE received by NBC. The RFIE was for my birth certificate (i forgot to include translation and form I-131).
7/13 bio metrics appointment.
7/30 I-485 - case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.
I did not receive a single update on my EAD until today, 9/25 from 6/11. on 8/21 i filed an expedite request to expedite based on financial loss. On 8/30 i got a letter in the mail dated 8/24 asking to fax proof of financial loss such as a job offer, which I faxed on 9/4. On 9/4 i read on this forum that some people had gone through their Congressmen. I contacted my congresswoman's office on 9/4 explaining my situation. Her staff asked me to sign a form and send evidence of hardship. I sent them my bills and my husbands pay stubs, showing that he makes less than what our monthly bills are. I was told by the congresswoman's staff that USCIS does not accept job offers as evidence from them (even though in my own expedite request they asked for a job offer in their letter).
On 9/14 i had no updates, so i called USCIS and they recommended that I re-fax my evidence for my expedite, since sometimes officers don't review their faxes. I resent it then. On my case the only update i got was on 8/24 saying that my expedite request was completed (which is when they sent me the letter asking for evidence). On 9/17 my congresswoman's staff emailed me that USCIS told them I was approved for expedited processing (yay!).
And today I finally got an update that card was in production, so 8 days after case was approved for expeditious processing.

Today is 110th day since I applied for the EAD card. I already have a job offer in hand and the employer is getting impatient since I'm not able to join them till I have my EAD. So, I'm pretty much tensed now as I might lose the job. :(
I have a few friends who had applied for OPT-extension EAD after me but have already received the card. So, does it take more processing time for candidates who applied for first time than those who apply for extension?

Is it possible for me to expedite it somehow?

Wait Time
Hi guys.
I'm concerned about the waiting time and as I can see here, there's a lot of people that applied in the beginning of the year waiting for the EAD.
My case:
PD 06/19/18 - I 767
Biometrics - 07/21/18
Biometrics Received 07/24/18
I was looking some experiences bellow in the comments and I saw the possibility of requesting to expedite my EAD. If I expedite because of Financial Loss/Job Offer, what kind of proofs are they gonna ask? EAD Being produced w/out AP yet
Anybody here experienced who got their EAD first without the approval of AP yet? How long did you get an update on your AP after you get EAD?

I want to thank everybody for sharing their experience with others. This forum has been so instrumental to my success in obtaining an EAD card.
We are a same-sex couple from Orange County, California. We filed on our own, without a lawyer. Our processing center has been NBC.
Here is our timeline:
PD: 5/14/18
Biometrics: 6/22
Fingeprints received: 6/26
Fingeprints review completed: 7/7
8/16 Called to expedite for the first time, was instructed to send a letter with all the evidence
8/20 Sent the expedite packet via priority mail
8/24 Called again to expedite my case because I was seeing no updates. They expedited my case that day online
8/27 Expedite case shows as assigned, sent response, and completed the same day
9/5 Called to again, but they told me no decision has been made and that I should wait at least 45 days
9/10 Called my Congressman, and sent an information release form
9/14 Sent a release form to my Senator
9/18 Ordered a new card
9/20 Mailed your card
9/21 USPS picked up the card
9/24 Card delivered and in hand.
We have luckily had no RFEs during this process.

First come first serve?? Yeah right!
How are cases selected to be approved? I thought it was first come first serve, but I have seen many cases that were filed well after others get approved first. For example, my PD is March 20th 2017 and I have seen June filers get theirs approved. I’m sure that people who have filed even earlier than me are frustrated as well. I just don’t understand. It makes me worry that something may be wrong with my case.
