Name change with Social security card
Has anyone on here had a name change issue after receiving their EAD card and Homeland taking their sweet time to update their system.
Yet alone I waited 205 days for my EAD card since filling in Oct (marriage based, NBC center, C09) and now they are making it impossible to change my last name into my SSC and now I can’t even renew my driver license with either my maiden name or husband last name... I don’t understand the hold up when my EAD card has my husband last name on it as proof I adopted it
If anyone when through it please share...

EAD renewal and fingerprint
Hello everyone, just checking in.

Dallas applicant.

PD- March 7, 2017, awaiting interview since April 2017. Sent in renewal for EAD in April 2018. Used Notice of Action to renew licence and continue work. Licence renewed for 1 yr. Didn't know I had to do fingerprint for renewal, but got notice yesterday for new fingerprint.

Received EAD today! Thank GOD!
Hello everyone,

Just wanted to share my timeline with you all. As everyone here, I had been anxiously waiting for my EAD and finally have received it!

September 2017: filed for AOS marriage based to USC- did not request EAD at the time bc had one already from a different visa)

December 2017: requested EAD through my AOS case after consulting with attorney

March 2018: raised SR
April 2018: response via mail stated (still under normal processing times)
Also did expedite request based on financial loss, request was denied.

May 21st: received case status update text via e mail and text- card is in production

May 25th: card was mailed

May 29th: card in hand!

GLORY TO GOD! everyone please be patient and if you pray, do so, the power
of prayer is REAL.

C9 category, Houston TX, NBC service center. Now to wait for interview, which I hear in Houston is taking close to 2 years ... still have a year and a half to go... :( but GOD is GOOD and patience is a virtue.

NBC can’t raise SR
Pd: 12/29/2017
Bio: 02/05/2018
I tried to raise Service Request for being over 5 months waiting but at the end of process system pops up with a message that your case is still with in normal processing time.
I called customer service where the lady told me that in there system the date to raise service request for case outside normal processing time is November 30 while on the website it says 30 December. And also she told me that may be on the 15 of next month they will update the system.
I could not talk to l2 officer due to the high volume of calls being receive .... I am going to try it tomorrow to see where it goes...
Does anyone else have the same issue??

Case under active review
Today I got this message from Ombudsman: your case is under active review. However, USCIS is unable to provide a specific timeframe for resolution.

Anyone got the same message? What to wait next? Does it give any hope?

F2A, married to LPR, no RFEs. 228 days waiting...

EAD Being Produced, how long before mailed?
Hello folks, as I had shared on Friday the long wait seems to be getting closer to an end. Atleast for the EAD card. My status on Friday last week changed to "card is being produced" after 240 days.

I called customer service for tracking number and they said the card has not been mailed yet. Only after it is mailed will I get the tracking number which makes sense.

My question - how long after the status change to "card is being produced" to "card is mailed"? I am hoping its a few days. The wait has been close to year anyways.

thanks for your guidance.

Does the nature of your RFE matter?
Hi guys,

Does the nature of your RFE matter? I have received a RFE after 5+ months for my I-485. Does that mean that only the I-485 package was opened and not my EAD/AP package?

For you guys who have received RFE and then had their EAD approved, was your RFE for your I-485 or for your I-485?

Thanks!

losing hope
I admire the work of USCIC. Called to inquire why there is no reply to my SR (they promised to reply on May 27th) and found out that my case is with NBC. A month ago representative told me it was in California Center. Reading all the comments I know that NBC takes much longer time to complete the case, started to feel that there is no hope to get it even by the end of June. Case was received on Dec 11, 2017. Another fun part is that the agent told me it is within normal processing time. I asked if the time has changed and now it takes more than 5 months, his answer is it depends, and told he will transfer the call to senior officer. Waiting for the call back as the wait is 250 minutes

October
Anyone else an October filer at Vermont Service Center?? I am going mad over here! It’s utter bullshit! I have been doing this for nearly ten years and this is the first time I have ever waited this long! I have been out of work since the end of January! My lawyer is completely worthless! Been working with the Congressman for the past 3 months. First two requests they sent, the response was “just wait, still in processing time”. This last response was last Friday, May 18 that said “due to the age of application, I will have assigned to an officer.” Thought that was the light at the end of the tunnel but here I am almost two weeks later with no updates!! Have submitted 4-5 SRs and never got a damn response on any! Still keeping hope though! Please share your experience if you are Vermont service center!!
