Email and text alerts
Hey everyone!

My husbands Pd is 1/22 and he went through biometrics back in February. My question is a little over a month ago I signed up for Email and Text alerts for our case. I see that some ppl get updates that nothing has changed or that something is in processing. I have triple checked to make sure I am signed up for alerts, but I have yet to receive anything from uscis except an email when I changed my password.

Is it normal not get any updates?

my EAD experience - received card
Hi everyone,
This forum has served as a tremendous source of information and community, so thank you to those that run it, and of course everyone that shares their journeys.

I received my EAD + AP card on May 12 2018. Here is my category and timeline:

a) marriage to USC, applied for I-485, I-130, I-131 and I-765 to the National Benefits Center.

b) Application submitted / received date Dec 22, 2017
c) Receipt date dec 29 2017
d) Biometrics Appointment notification date Jan 16 2018
e) Biometrics Date Jan 25 2018
f) 485 status change to 'ready to be scheduled for interview' on Feb 8 2018
g) 765 status change to 'We ordered a new card' on May 5 2018
h) 765 status change to 'We mailed your new card' on May 10 2018
i) 765 status change to 'Post Office picked up your card' on May 11 2018
j) Received my Approval Notices for 765 and 131 by postal mail on May 11 2018 (the 767 approval notices)
k) Received my combo card on May 12 2018

I turned email + mobile notifications on in May, and found them surprisingly consistent.

Fortunately, I did not receive any RFEs. I did not talk to any Level-2 officers on the USCIS helpline. I made one call to the helpline late April to ask about process to work with Level-2 officers, but after talking to my lawyer, decided not to proceed w/ Level-2 requests as back then I wasn't past normal processing times.

Happy to answer any questions, and all the best for everyone waiting for progress :)

EAD!
Hi all,

I can’t believe I finally have the EAD in my hands! I want to thank this forum for the infos, especially in the moments I was desperate, without any information from USCIS.

Some advices: hang in there, things are moving, slowly, but it’s happening. Try to not thing about it all the time. Do things that you love, do some exercise and listen to a good music. Don’t try to control what you can’t. And your attorney can’t really save you.

Thanks for sharing your timelines, here is our (I applied together with my husband in our green card process):

Oct 16: We received your case
Dec 07: Biometrix appointment
(Nothing from them, no info using tracking numbers)

March 26: Online notification that travel permit was approved
March 27: Online notification that card (EAS) was ordered
March 29: Online notification thar travel permit + EAD were mailed
April 05: documents arrived at home

Total time: 140 days

Good luck!

EAD in California Service Center
Hi all,

I'm currently on L2 (spouse of L1 visa holder).
3/12 - I-765 was received at the USCIS in California.
3/22 - Name was updated.

Since then - nothing!
According to the USCIS website - the processing time is 5.5 to 7.5 months!!! That's really a lot...

The cut off date mentioned there is October 10, 2017...

Can anyone share a more promising timeline from his/her experience in California?
When can we raise a service request the earliest, and how to do that? Is it after 75 days or 90 days?

According to their website, neither 75 nor 90 is mentioned... Looks like they say that you can raise a request only if your form was received before the cut off date, is that correct?
If that's the case, that's 5 more months!!! And 7 months in total...

Would appreciate your help. Thanks in Advance!

EAD: PD - Nov
The SR which was raised on 22nd March (3rd SR) was assigned to an officer on 16th April and received a response on 22nd April saying "Decision will be made shortly"

Now the SR which was raised on 22nd January (1st SR) is today assigned to an officer - 11th May

Whats going on? is raising SR a mistake? am i increasing their workload? lol

Why don't they approve the EAD

Sharing Experience - GOOD Experience
Hello All,
I have been a frequent user / visitor (at one point too much). I know there are a lot of people with hard and tough experiences here but I wanted to share a positive one in case someone new is just hoping to see if there have been cases without too many hardships.

Details -

L1 Visa (me), L2 Visa (spouse) with Expiration on 3/29/18.
Receipt Date for filing I485 along with I767, I131 = Jan 29
Notice Date for above = Feb 7
All with Texas Service Center
Biometrics = Feb 26
Infopass appointment on March 8 to ask for expedite - I had letter from Company President, Financial Documents showing mortgage, childcare, car loans etc.
March 9 - Got a call from USCIS officer saying they are NOT expediting my case and it can take upto 6 months.
March 30, Me and spouse are off work as Visa expired.
Tough times ahead but we tried to make the most of it.
April 4 - Status online changed to Biometrics Reviewed. Still processing. No updates on decision.
April 25 - Another Infopass appointment asking for hardship expedite. Officer less helpful saying nothing can be done. Standard answer that it can take upto 6 months.

Contemplated going to Congressman and was looking into this. Did not follow through because...

April 30 - Online Status update - Card is in Production

May 3 - Approval Notice Received

May 9 - Card Recieved

I am hoping to rejoin work shortly as soon as next payroll cycle comes in. My wife lost her job due to this gap as her small company had to find a replacement.

Overall it has been a tough time but my message to people is to retain faith. Good things will happen.
90 days seems to be the minimum number these days.

Good luck to all. Be patient. You will get it. It is a hard time but hope is important.
