October Filer.
Doesnt seem like there is any hope left for us October filers. No EAD in sight. 230 days and the saga continues. Feeling depressed and devastated.

Experience sharing
Hi All,

I have been a silent visitor in this forum for a while. This forum provide me with plenty of information which I appreciate very much! Here, I would like to share some of my EAD card experience and hope this piece of information can help some of you.

I am a EB2 applicant
Service center: Texas Service Center
03/22/2018 Submitted I-140, I-485, I-765, I-131 (Paid $1225 for I-140 premium process)
05/04/2018 Went to USCIS local office to request EAD expedite. However, no use. They told me that my case is still at Texas Service Center and they can’t help me locally.
05/04/2018 Called USCIS and spoke to level 1 officer for EAD expedite. They said they will call/email me back if they need further information
05/07/2018 Received an email from USCIS asking for further document for review.
05/07/2018 Same day email replied to USCIS including I-140 approval letter and a letter with EAD card expedite
05/11/2018 Received a notification indicating “We ordered your new card”. Super excited!!!
05/14/2018 Received another notification indicating “We received your correspondence for Form I-765 and your case is being review” Feel confused as I though they already approved my case? Not sure if this is because on the same date they transferred my other filed case to another service center…
05/15/2018 4pm ETS Called USCIS again and scheduled a call back
05/15/2018 6:30pm ETS received a call back from USCIS (They did call back!) She said my case was approved
05/17/2018 Received another notification indicating “Card was mailed to me” (Thanks God!)

I didn’t ask for Congressman’s or Senator’s help, part of the reason is I don’t know how to and I am not so sure if they will care about my case. However, I do think USCIS calling number is useful! And I pray every day!I hope this piece of information can provide some hope to those who are still waiting for their card! Whoever you are, I hope you could receive your EAD card asap! God blessing

Blessing,

CY

Texas Service Center
Hi, I see most of the people on here whose EAD is taking a long time are from NBC, does anyone on here have any experience with Texas Service Center. I am curious to know how long its taking them to process through I-765.

Thank you.

Health insurance while waiting for EAD
Hey folks!

What types of medical insurance do you guys have while you are waiting for your EAD?

My travelers insurance (that I purchased from my home country) expired and I cannot renew it from the US. We tried to add me on my husbands health insurance but the company won't do it without a social security number.

Does any of you have experiences on Visitors Medical Insurances for visitors in USA? Or good international travelers insurances that yo can purchase when you've already started your trip? Any recommendations for companies or other ideas?

I don't need to be covered for checkups or pre-excisting conditions, just want to have coverage in a case of an emergency, sudden illness, or injury.

Any suggestions?

Curious
A little out of topic but after reading so many stories, what made you want to stay in the US to live instead of bringing your spouse to your home country?

I know some people that had quit the process (due to the politics and waiting) and returned to their country only to find that they are happier there. Free healthcare, gun-less culture, healthier and better foods, vacation time (in US you only have 2 if you're lucky), you name it.

Thank you :)

L2 EAD (A18) CSC APPROVED
Hi friends,
From the last one month, i have been a silent reader of EAD forums in immihelp. All of you helped a lot by sharing your timelines and concerns so that i could understand the processing time. Today my case status changed to NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED. My case is initial application.

Filing date : Jan 20, 2018
Receipt date : Jan 22, 2018
status changed : May 17, 2018
Center : CALIFORNIA
Category : a(18) L2 EAD

i dont get my card in hand but is relieved to hear that its being produced. After assessing other a(18) january filers at CSC, I found that it will take almost 110-120 days to get the card. So i waited patiently without raising any SR nor contacted any Congressman or Ombudsman nor did any expedition.
I wish all of you Good Luck and hope you will also get your status changed soon....

Any one can tell me how long will it take to get the card ? HEeard about informed delivery from this forum . Any ideas about that, please share. Also heard that after April, we have to give signature for receiving the card. Please share your views. Thank you all.......

Nationalities?
Nobody has asked this before so I'll ask:

Do you think people from certain nationalities (Dutch, Swedish, English etc) get processed and accepted faster than from (Mexico, China, India) etc? especially during the interview?

What are your nationalities?
