Infopass help.
My husband and I scheduled an infopass today in New Orleans. I know some have found it helpful and others useless. Our Pd is 1/22/18 and out bio was done in February.

To those who found it helpful do you have any words of wisdom on getting more information on our case? Since our receipts we have had no email updates or other updates at all.

Our plan is next to reach out to a congressman. If anyone has any tips on that, it would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help, and best of luck to all those waiting!

Finally!
After 272 days, I received an update on my EAD.
New card being produced!!!
I got a RFE 7 months after submitting.
It didn't reset the clock like I was fearing.
I'm so grateful to God, to this site and to
USCIS for not making me wait longer.
After sending the affidavit of support,
They worked on my case right away.
I know it's frustrating but they do have
Loads, and loads of cases.
I cannot wait to receive my work.permit.
I have so many jobs in mind. Finally!
Thank you Jesus for your divine
intervention!
Good luck everybody!
Don't drive them crazy by calling all the
time or contacting Congressman etc..
They are working very hard, it's just busier
Than other times with recent immigration
Shifts.

Total 225 days

I have contacted congressman three times to perform inquiry and follow up with USCIS. Fortunately, i got a lot help from his office. First time, the response from USCIS on Feb, 2018 said I should recieve a decision shortly. Second time, the response from USCIS on April ,2018 said my case will be required to be examined by officer. Third time, the response on May 5, 2018 said they will require to expedite my case.

For my case, congressman is very helpful. Please try every method to help you get response from USCIS. You dont know what will happen. Be positive! you will finally recieve your card. What you feel right now i went through before and completely understand.

This is ridiculous
I have applied I-130, I-485 and work permit application on September 21st 2017. Two weeks after they have sent request for initial evidence. I sent all requested documents. So my case is registered on November 7th. Guess what. I am still waiting for the work permit. More than a month ago I received an e-mail from USCIS saying that they are reviewing my case however since then I have not heard from them. This is unbelievable how long the process takes. There is no communication on their side whatsoever. Whenever I call they tell me to wait. I lost three job opportunities because of it. When the one files work permit application it is written that USCIS has up to 90 days to at least inform the applicant about their decision. It depends on understanding the date of the registration of my case I basically wait for the work permit from September last year. Taking into account that my case was registered on November 7th I wait 7 months instead 3... And of course I would lie if this situation did not exert an influence onto my marriage. It is very very annoying and frustrating.

Expedite Attempts
Hello Everyone!
I thought of sharing my timeline experience in order to get some advices.

01/31/18 Case was Received
03/05/2018 Biometrics Walk in
05/10/2018 Contacted my filling region Congresswoman (Glenns Falls, NY) and faxed the required documents they needed - No response yet
05/15/2018 Finally was able to talk to a person on the USCIS phone and put in an expedite request due to severa financial loss (I'll explain that later) - Representative told me they would contact me within 5 days
05/16/2018 Contacted Ombudsman and received an email one day after stating that my case is still within the processing time.

Long story short, I am on a F1 Visa and married to an USC. Got my dream job offer in NYC with a starting date of 06/04.

Any tips on what I should do besides waiting? I have 21 days until my Job starts and this anxiety is killing me! :(
So frustrating,

EAD Initial Review background check
Does anyone have similar experience getting this email from USCIS? What happened after you receive this? I did expedite request a month ago and will be out of job next week.

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On May 18, 2018, we updated your name for your Form I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, Receipt Number MSC YYYY YYYY XX. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

Don't Give Up, Your Time Will Come
I have been a silent observer of this site for a long time but have been thankful for the information posted. My wife applied for her I-485 adjustment of status based on marriage and we applied for her I-765 & I-131 at the same time. She initially entered the country on a J1 visa.

11/09/18 Application Received
11/17/18 Received I-797C with Bio-metric Appointment
12/04/18 Bio-metrics done at Tampa USCIS office
03/30/18 Created SR for case pending longer than expected time
04/13/18 Received SR response "Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice shortly."
05/01/18 Contacted Ombudsman Service to look into case & Received generic response same day
05/10/18 Case updated, "Your card is being produced"
05/16/18 Your card has been shipped to your address
05/17/18 Combo Card received and letters of approval for I-765/I-131 , DIDN'T require a signature

We didn't have and RFE's so the long process had nothing to do with us not giving them enough information, the process is just long and tiresome. I saw people who submitted their applications over a month after we did and they were receiving their EADs, it was driving me crazy. We never contacted a congressman, made an infopass appointment, heard back from the Ombudsman, or contacted a level 2 USCIS officer. We thought our day would never come but then in an instant everything changed. I highly recommend getting the USCIS Case Tracker application on your phone, that was the first way I was notified for every update to our case. Hang in there, your day will come.
