I sent my EAD application 3 weeks ago and it was pick up on April, 16th and still haven't received any confirmation and my check hasn`t been cashed yet. I did fill it up with G-1145.
How long does it take to receive a confirmation? Should I take any actions now?
Renewed L2 EAD arrived with 20 days validity based on old I94. What to do?
Hello ,
I filed my L2 EAD extension in Dec 2017 with an old I94 valid till 05/10/2018. However , when I received my updated I94 valid till 05/10/2020, I sent it to the USCIS via congressman before they started processing my case.
On April 24 , 2018 , I received my EAD card with validity from 04/19/2018 to 05/10/2018 i.e. 21 days only and which reflects my old I94 date. Now I asked the congressman to contact the USCOS by sending him a formal letter to USCIS , updated I94 again and EAD card via email.
So I have the following questions:
1)I am not sure what time will it take for USCIS to rectify this error. Approximately how much time USCIS takes to rectify the error?
2)Since I have involved the Congressman, will it help quicken the process?
3)Can I work beyond May 10 2018 stating I have applied for correction of the validity period? Can USCIS provide me a formal letter enabling me to work while they process this validity change reqest?
4)Is there anything else I can do in this situation to continue working beyond May 10, 2018?
Good afternoon everyone,
without any doubt, this forum has helped me the most to understand a lot of issues with my applications and to take a lot of actions towards it, i am really thankful that ive found it and thats why i am writing my own experience to help others and give some hope :)
Center: NBC, MSC
Category: married to USC in May 2016
PD: November 29th, 2017
December 28th: didn't receive any appointment for fingerprints, gave USCIS a call, they said your appointment was today at 8 am but youve missed it because the notice was returned to USCIS because my apartment number was written wrong, I freaked out but the officer was nice and helpful, he scheduled me another appointment 2 weeks later on the phone
January 11th: did my biometrics
February: after 75 days, submitted my 1st service request and no answer
February 15th: InfoPass appointment, case is still in processing time
March 1st: submitted my 2nd service request after 90 days and no answer
March 1st: moved to another state and changed my address with uscis
March 2nd: submitted a congressman and ombudsman request to my case
March 10th: congressman answered that case is under processing and closed the case with them and recommended submitting an expedite request
March 13th: submitted an expedite request through the phone
March 16th: received an email asking for job letter and financial loss proof and submitted it through fax the same day
March 22nd: was checking the other website at myaccount.dhs to find out that a RFE is sent to me :( gave them a call, it was so frustrating that after over 4 months, i receive a RFE and put my case on hold, the officer was extremely mad at me that i changed my address and state and that it is not yet processed and now the letter is sent to the old address
March 30th: luckily after a lot of trials, usps has changed my address and forwarded the RFE to my new address, it was RFE of affidavit of support not enough
April 7th: my wife talked to her boss and she explained the situation and he sponsored me and we sent out the form
April 9th: USCIS received my response and case is no longer on hold and was planning to wait another 75 days as they told me the case will start over :(
April 16th: out of nowhere!!!!!! the case status changed that card is being produced!!!!!!!!!!!!! the happiest day!!!!
April 20th: received an approval letter in the mailbox
April 25th: card in hand!!!!!!
Last but not least, be faithful, pray, live your life, it's the processing time that takes a lot of effort but be sure that they are there to help, call, infopass, ombudsman, congressman, use all your methods and don't worry, it wont delay your process, they understand and they will always help :) Goodluck for all of you and let me know if you want to ask any question!
For the past month after signing up for the new my account with USCIS, I have received an automated email that says
“We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time”
They usually come every 2 weeks on a Tuesday around 7 am.... yesterday I should have received one due to this pattern but I did not. Did anyone else not receive theirs? My received date was 10/31/17 and according to processing times I should have gotten mine by now but I have not and still do not have any updates! I am going crazy! Out of work 3 months now.
