Filed wife's papers in early april of 2017. Ref we sent back 5 weeks later! Green card in hand 5 1/2 months. Filed for my stepdaughter pd November 1st filed 2 inquiries. Contacted senator Joe Donnley Indiana. Absolutely no help. ( not voting for him) made Info pass 4/15/18 no help either. Now day 167 and her case hasn't even been assigned as of today. No emails no text no updates. Senator Donnley never even got back with me. With my wife we just waited and her case went very fast. For my daughter tried everything and nothing. She got letter from Harvard University but can't respond because no social security card. The girl couldn't speak a word of English 4 years ago. Now Tudors students born here. My wife works 2 jobs and pays taxes so all the white hillbillies can collect foods talks and cheap rent. Imagratiin is sad backwards. All you people waiting. I feel your pain.keep your child up. Your time will come. One word of advise PUT YOUR NAME ON MAILBOX. Postman may not leave your cards without it. Especially if you live in an apartment.

EAD L2 Spouse
Hi all,

Day 97 for me. Filed Jan 10. Vermont Service Centre.

Have submitted 1 service request with the generic response below received;

"The processing of your Application for Employment Authorization (Form I-765) is within our current processing time. Our system indicates that your case is currently under review with an Immigration Service Officer."

Have just filed with Ombudsman, no response as of yet.

Any other January filers here? Any tips or suggestions?

I know there are worse off than me but really struggling now.

L2 EAD

Jan-2-2018 : Sent documents via USPS Certified Mail. Cost 4.96$. Ensure you opt for certified mail so that you can track it. I used money order of 410$. Preferably use check so that you immediately know when check is realized.
Jan-5-2018 : Received by lockbox. you can find this by tracking the documents.
Jan-10-2018 : Received email stating case accepted and the receipt number and forwarded to Vermont.

Absolutely no update until 75 days post case receipt.

March-26-2018 : Raised first service request for no update on my case.
Mar-28-2018 : Received standard response "We are still reviewing case and no updates at this time"
Mar-30-2018 : Status changed to "we are producing your card..."
Apr-3-2018 : Case approved
Apr-3-201 : We mailed your card and USPS will deliver it.
Apr-7-2018 : Card received.

Received card in about 90 days

Note:
1. I had sent an affidavit which mentioned the full form of my initials. My marraige certificate had iniitals whereas my passport had expanded form.
2. As expected, there was no biometric appointment as application was sent via mail.
3. Use myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov to track the status by creating an account. The usual case satus link updates after a 2-3 days delay. Former had status card being produced while the later still said case received.
4. Had sent documents to USCIS Dallas Lockbox(P.O. Box 660867,Dallas, TX 75266) but was delivered to different zip( DALLAS, TX 75260). No need to panic.
5. Had sent following docs in below order:
Cover letter
Money order 410$
2 photos (self..US format)
I765
G-1145
Visa copy of (mine)L2 applicant
I 94 copy of L2 applicant

Contacted congressman
My PD is November 1st. I contacted my congressman on April 4th to see if they could help to expedite my case. This morning April 17th I woke up to 2 emails. My congressman said my case was sent for expedite but also that the expedite wait time might be long since there are many cases waiting in the expedite queue. So I’m not sure if it made a difference with the wait time but I sure hope so. I don’t think USCIS really understands how we applicants feel being in limbo. We go months without getting updates and if I hadn’t found this site by accident last year I’m sure I would have felt alone in this whole process. I wouldn’t even have known I could contact my congressman for help. Thanks to everyone that posts here. Your stories and experiences really help.

No update on EAD after 143 days
Hey guys,

I applied for STEM OPT extension and USCIS received my case on NOV 24th 2017. Till date I have no update on my case. I tried various sources like, Congressman, Senator, Ombudsman to get any update but none of them were useful. I also went to local USCIS office to ask for my case status and even there the officer asked me to wait. Is anyone in same boat as me and is it normal that they are taking so long to process a STEM OPT extension case?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
