Hi everyone,
I want to echo the sentiments of how helpful this forum has been for my experience, and to share what I've done to follow up on my outstanding application for an I-765 C(9) pending I-485 status (family based application):
PD: 12/12/2017
Biometrics: 02/07/2018 (after being rescheduled by myself)
Card being produced: 04/12/2018 (through
https://my.uscis.gov/account, NOT case status online)
Total days: 120 days
Follow up actions:
-- Case inquiry made by calling customer service line: 03/20/2018. Request for supporting evidence mailed on 03/26/2018. Faxed evidence to USCIS on 03/27/2018. No response since.
-- Contacted Senator Cory Booker's office on 03/20/2018, twice both phone message and online form. No response at all. Maybe i should've tweeted instead, he always seemed responsive on social media.
-- Contacted Congressman's office on 03/24/2018. Responded via email on 03/27/2018. They submitted request to USCIS on my behalf on 03/28/2018, said I should expect a 2 week wait. Upon two week deadline, they followed up with USCIS on my behalf Very responsive and helpful, wonderful service.
-- Completed InfoPass appointment on 04/06/2018. ISO very helpful, said that my I-485 was on the picklist and interview was ready to be scheduled. I have not received any direct notifications on my I-485 though.
-- Contacted Ombudsman on 04/10/2018. Confirmation of receipt via email immediately. No further response.
So I'm not sure which channel my "new card being produced" notice is coming through - congressman, ombudsman, or just the regular waiting line - but am grateful for someone's advice on this forum to sign up for account status updates in BOTH USCIS websites. It looks like case status online website is not as immediate as the USCIS account website.
