Hi guys!
To me it seems that the category 9 EAD process time depends on the type of AOS application. Apparently for USC relevants ( concurrently filed I-130 and I-485) it moves much faster than GC holder relevants. Could you all guys with long pending time comment this with your AOS type to make a conclusion?

I hope this message finds you well. I am so happy to let you know that I received four text messages from USCIS today to state that my "NEW CARD IN PRODUCTION."

Postscript: I filed my EAD application on October 30, 2017 with the NBC, so it took 122 days to process.

Biometrics: 12/22/2017
2 SRs (no reply either time): at day 77 and 89
Contacted Senator (don't think he really helped much): Day 78
Contacted Ombudsman: Day 83
Ombudsman replied and said that they had contacted USCIS: Day 88 And I think they must have helped because my status changed 11 days later.
Status changed to "New Card is Being Produced": 2/28/2018
So my EAD got approved, but nothing yet updated concerning my AP. Will they arrive at the same time as a combo card?

EAD for F1 OPT first time
Hi guys,
I just want to share my timeline if it would help some of you. I know how stressful it is to wait for any action or update on status.
Service center: Potomac (PSC)
My recommended start date was 12/21/17.
10/23/17 - PD
01/13/18 - Online status change to "New card being produced"
01/15/18 - Received Approval notice through mail
After this date, the online status has been stuck to "New card being produced". I got worried since most people I know got their EAD card in the mail within 2 weeks of this status update.
02/13/18 - I made a case inquiry online and immediately received a response saying my case has been assigned to an officer.
02/14/18 - Received an email from USCIS saying my case has been reviewed by an officer and that my case was still "pending consideration". It asked me to wait for 30 more days before I make a service request again. I found this really weird since I already received an approval notice. I also got extremely worried since I finally got a job offer and can only ask them to hold the offer for 2 weeks. What I did next, I think, was the one that made things finally move along.
02/21/18 - I contacted my IPO (international program office) advisor/officer (from the university that issued my I-20) and told him about my case. It seems like they have some sort of direct and special contact with the service center because as soon as he inquired them about my case, they emailed him back saying that, 1) my application has indeed been approved, and that 2) my card was sent to production, and they are currently reviewing its production. I don't know what that means, but if I have to guess, it would be that they were reviewing why my card was not mailed...
02/21/18 - The same day, my online status changed to "On Feb.21, we ordered your new card... etc."
02/23/18 - Status FINALLY changed to, "We mailed your card to the address..." There was no tracking number provided.
02/28/18 - EAD card arrived through USPS.
Whole process took about ~120 days. I know it's hard to be patient, but I am hopeful that your documents will arrive soon. What really helped me out was reaching to my IPO officer. If you have the same case as mine, I strongly suggest to talk to your IPO officer for any advise.
