EAD Renewal
Hi all,
I wanted to ask if the delay in EAD requests are common for all kind of Visas. Or it is specific for L2 or H4 or any other categories.
I applied for EAD renewal on November 8th, 2017 and still the USCIS website says, case received. I am sitting on the 75th day today and have no clue on what to do next.
2 years back when I applied for my EAD, there were no issues/delays and I had received my EAD within 50 days, But this time renewal is taking a lot of time and reading the stories below there is a major concern.

I am currently working on H4 EAD visa. My EAD validity is till 14th February, 2018. I have applied for extension on 29th Nov, 2017. But still I have not received the EAD card. Please suggest what I should do so that I can receive EAD before 14th Feb, 2018. If I don't receive new EAD before expiry, can I continue my Job. If not, what are my options. Please help.

It also provides tracking information for all cards mailed from the card production facility. Once you receive your Notice of Approval you can contact USCIS's National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 and obtain your tracking number and current delivery status.

I-485 from O1 Visa EAD taking for ever
This is a nightmare!
sharing my timeline in case someone has suggestions:
- AUGUST 8, 2017: APP RECEIVED BY USCIS
- SEPT 28, 2017: BIOMETRICS
- NOV 30 2017: SERVICE REQUEST / INQUIRY OUT OF PROCESSING TIMES
- DECEMBER 9TH: LETTER SAYING CASE IS IN LINE TO BE PROCESSED WAIT 60 MORE DAYS
- JANUARY 4TH: UNEMPLOYED BECAUSE VISA EXPIRED WHILE WAITING FOR EAD TO BE APPROVED
- JAN 16, 2018: CALL WITH L2 OFFICER. VERY RUDE TOLD ME TO WAIT 60 DAYS AS THE LETTER SAID.
- JANUARY 22ND: 168 DAYS LATER, NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.
I tried to contact Ombudsman and the website says: CIS Ombudsman Online Case Assistance will be unavailable as of January 20, 2017. This site will not be active until the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman resume operations upon conclusion of the funding hiatus.
I will contact congressmen tomorrow to see if they can help. Worst part, it is the EAD for my husband and me!!! so we both are currently unemployed, with a baby and god knows till when. praying every day for this to be over soon!!!

Just god an update in my online status that says
’ On January 22, 2018, we reopened your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSC1791800233, and are reconsidering our earlier decision.
We sent you a notice that describes how we will process your case.
What does this update mean?? I got an new card is being produced on 01/18/18 for my EAD ?
Anyone had the similar experience before?
I need your help as soon as possible please.

for anyone interested
I called a level two officer at the USCIS on Friday 01/19/18 to inquire about my EAD combo card. that i have been waiting four and half month for it.
She was able to tell me that they are processing EAD for August 01 filer as of Friday.
one more thing, USCIS shouldn't be affected with shutdown since they depend on forms fees to operate unless your application is dependent on another PERM application which will be affected.
