STEM Extension 17 month - 2 months Old I-20
Hi, I graduated in 2015. Here is my timeline and its 92nd day today and I am still waiting.

STEM Extension I-20 issued Feb 26th, 2016
Mail reached USCIS on May 11th, 2016

Initial OPT Expired June 14th, 2016

Friend who applied for 24-month Extension after me got their EAD Cards. But I am waiting for RFE to ask for new 24-months I-20. DSO also told me to expect a direct denial without an RFE as I sent the I-20 that was older than 60days.

But people who applied before me with 17-months extension got their RFEs asking for 24-month I-20.

H4 EAD Renewal
Below is the detailed timeline of my wife's H4 EAD Renewal. Hope this helps some readers who are anxiously waiting.

Day 1 - May 12 2016 - USCIS Received I765 Form and case generated.
Day 75 - Raised Service request with USCIS
Day 82 - Contacted Local Congresswoman's office. Privacy release form sent.
-- The office staff were very helpful. They sent me daily FYI email updates on their attempts with USCIS.

Day 89 - Local Congresswoman's office expedited my case with USCIS.I never requested them to expedite. It was so nice of them to take a initiative on their own.

Day 90 - Aug 9 2016 - case status changed to "New Card is being Processed" and then to "Case was approved"
Day 91 - Received response email from USCIS for the Service Request raised on 75th day.Case approved status was mentioned in the response email.
Day 92 - Status changed to "Card Was Mailed To Me"
Day 94 - Received EAD card and approval notice by mail.

SSN after EAD ?
Hey Everyone,

I applied for my SSN after receiving my EAD card in mail today. I was told that I have to wait upto 4 weeks to get it as it needs further verification. Anyone else went through the same process ? If yes, how long did it take you to get your SSN in mail after the verification process was done.

I find it frustrating because I can't even apply for a driver's license or non driver ID for that matter without having the SSN.

Please share your experience !

Please Help: TPS Outside Processing Time
Hi,
Please help I don't know what else to do.

10/25/15- Application for renewing my TPS for Haiti was received by USCIS
12/18/15- Went to get biometrics
01/22/16-07/22/16- Automatic extension for TPS Haiti (includes EAD)
05/12/16- Reapplication for EAD was received by USCIS (I did the EAD separately because I did not have the money at the time to pay for both TPS and EAD. Since EAD was automatic renewed and TPS has to be approved before EAD is granted.)
05/04/16, 07/07/16, 07/14/16- Contacted USCIS about my I-821 (TPS case that is now outside of normal processing time). Received automatic email stating that my case is being reviewed by an immigration officer. I put in a request to expedite this case based on financial hardship-received a letter from USCIS saying that USCIS does not expedite TPS cases
07/11/16- Started a new job
07/21/16- Went to speak USCIS office in Newark, NJ. Representative looked at my case and said to email Nebraska
07/22/16- was fired from job because my EAD had expired and I could not provide evidence of eligibility to work
07/25/16- Emailed Nebraska and put in a case request with Ombudsman Office
Presently 08/08/16- No decision on my TPS, no EAD card, no job.

Please help if you can think of anything else I can do, I'm praying and waiting- that's all I know to do as of now.

Thank you.

E-3 Spouse/Dependent Visa
My Husband has an E-3 Visa (Australian) and we applied for my EAD as soon as we could. Below are our processing times so far. USCIS seriously dropped the ball on processing my initial application.

05/06 - Mailed All Forms correctly (inc. Marriage Cert, ID, His ID, Photos etc.)
05/29 (23 days) - Called USCIS to find out where my forms etc had gone as I hadn't heard anything
05/31 (25 days) - USCIS "Received Date"

08/08 (69 days) - Still processing (waiting on update but can't officially inquire for another 6 days)

Despite having mailed it 90+ days ago, they apparently can'd do anything to make up the almost 30 days of lost time between when they should have received it and apparently did. It is supposed to process within 10 days of being sent to a lockbox. As I said - they seriously dropped the ball. We got nothing, not even an apology for that.
