OPT (EAD) received after 77 days
This was my timeline waiting for EAD under F-1 status.

May 2, 2016: Applied for EAD (I mailed out my documents immediately, it took a long time to get to Potomac Service Center)
May 11, 2016: USCIS received my case (90 days processing period started from here)
May 13, 2016: Received a letter in my mail that my case has been received, online status stated "Case received"
July 25, 2016 (day 75): I haven't heard anything until today, so I called USCIS and filed a service request "approaching regulatory time frame".
July 26, 2016: Received an email that my case had been approved and card was sent to production, no update online however. I filed another request online that I haven't received an approval notice. Few hours laters I received an email stating an approval notice won't be issued, the EAD card serves as approval.
July 27, 2016 (day 77): In the morning my status changed to "card was mailed on July 26". In the afternoon I received the EAD card.

HELP
hello every one

i am desperate, been offered a job ( date has been pushed back twice not sure how much more they will do) but my EAD has been delayed. I just raised a case to the ombudsman and my Senator.

Here is my timeline

05/05/2016 - i765 i485 i130 received by USCIS
06/18/2016 (44 day) - Request for Initial Evidence I 485
06/28/2016 (day 54) - Receipt of Requested information
07/20/2016 (day 76) - raised a case for update
07/26/2016 (day 82) - received a letter stating that due to RFE my clock has restarted and i had to wait 90 days from RFE receipt (I765)

this is contradictory to what the USCIS website states:

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days

"The clock will also stop if USCIS issues a request for initial evidence pertaining to the principal application/petition that serves as the basis for your application for employment authorization.
For example, if your eligibility for employment authorization is based on a pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, and USCIS issues a request for initial evidence pertaining to your Form I-485, the clock for your Form I-765 will stop when USCIS issues the request for evidence and restart when USCIS receives the requested information."

Just wondering if anyone out there has experienced this issue?

I have raised a case to the ombudsman on 07/26 to say why is there such a discrepancy:

I also phoned the USCIS

Spoke to USCIS 07/26/2016

Agent 1 said i had to wait 90 days
Raised a call to a Tier 2 agent - who said i needed to wait 60 days

It seems like no one (USCIS) really knows the process and its misleading.

I raised a case to my senator on the 07/27/2016

Just wanted to know if I am going mad or if there are others who experienced the same and how they resolved it. And if there is any more i can really do.

Thank you

Hi
Hi Guys,

I was on L2 and applied for EAD . Below is my timeline :

15th April : I mailed my documents for EAD
18th April : My case was received
8th June : They Mailed me Request for Additional Evidence (RFE)
18th July : My case was Approved
22nd July : My New Card was Mailed
25th July : I received my EAD card in my mailbox

They processed my card in exactly 3 months. They would have done so in 2 months had they not asked for additional evidence. My request to anyone applying for EAD is to mail all relevant documents possible besides the one asked for. This would save the time on RFEs. All the Best!

Paper size for GC application
Hi,

I am in the process of applying for GC under EB1c category. I recently finished my medical test. I took the medical test form in A4 size paper (I had a full bunch, which I took from Singapore while moving to USA). The doctor put my medical form and sealed it in an envelope. After that I realized A4 size(8.27x11.69) and USA letter paper size are different(8 12 x 11).

Now I need to go back to Doctor and ask to refill everythin in USA letter paper size and seal it. Is it important that I should stick to USA letter paper size or I can leave the medical forms and take all other forms in USA letter size.

Hope I can get an answer from someone ASAP since I am running out of time to submit my GC applications.

Thanks,
Vivek

EAD applied under H4 category pending since MAY 2016
Hi All,

I was hoping someone could help.

My lawyer applied for my EAD under H4 category and it was received on May 24, 2016. Since then I have not had any update about the case. Every time I check it says "'Case is received". I have a job offer already and they will wait till Aug 3rd week.

I have heard people get fingerprints done but its been two months and I have not received any information about that either. Does everyone have to get them done ?

What are few things that I can do to get an exact status of my case ? Please help

J-2 EAD experience
My wife applied for EAD extension in April. Timeline:
04/26 USCIS received the claim
05/10 Transferred to the Potomac Service Center
07/11 Service Request was raised at 75 days
07/19 Expedited request was raised based on financial loss to company
07/21 Contacted Congressman's office, they were very nice, he sent an official urgent email to the Director.

That's it. We are very anxious, hopefully something is going to happen, my wife is about to lose her job. If these do not help, what's the next step? Contact Ombusdman?

EAD/OPT experience
I am starting to get worried.
I submitted my application for OPT /EAD card on April 25th, and it was recieved on April 27th. My friend submitted hers the exact same day and same location and her EAD card is already here.

My situation is that its been 85 days and I have a job offer that starts the last week of August.
I had my student advisor at my school (I just graduated) email USCIS and they responded with this:

Thank you for your inquiry on behalf of xxxx xxx application is currently under the review of an officer. xxxx can expect to receive a decision or other correspondence within 30 days.

We hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
Potomac Service Center
CC0005

is this good news??
What is the timeline of events here...
