Renew EAD while I 485 is still pending
Hi all,

My PD for I 485 is August 18, 2015 and it has been almost a year I haven't event got an interview scheduled yet. I received EAD card in Oct 2015 and want to renew it. My question is:
1. Is there a fee I need to pay to renew my EAD card while my I 485 is still pending?
2. What kind of documents should I provide along with the application?

I live in Houston, TX.

Thank you very much!!

EAD Expedite Request Denied Twice!
Hey guys,

My application was recieved by the USCIS on 05/11/2016. I was waiting on a PhD admission decision while I was finishing up my masters. I decided to apply for OPT with 07/1/2016 as my start date.

well, I didn't get in to the program (found out 06/20) but I was able to get a job offer (after about 65 applications) with a non-profit state institution working with cancer research. I don't know if the job would still be offered if the OPT takes the usual time (90 days) , till 08/11/2016.

I tried to expedite my application twice. First, via financial burden, which got denied the same day. Second was on the non-profit organization basis, which also got denied within a day. The response I got was... USCIS does not expedite Form I-765 applications that have been pending for less than 75 days for any reason.

Has anyone else had such an experience? I tried senators and representatives but with no luck. I wonder if I just have to wait this one out.

Filing EAD without L2 extension receipt
Hi,

For me to file EAD renewal 120 days before expiry I will have to file it in mid-jul. I really want to do so as last time it took 150 days for my EAD to be approved.
My hubby's company working on L1 extension but not yet filed to USCIS....so I don't have a receipt for L1/L2 Extension application pending with USCIS.
Can I still go ahead and file my EAD renewal without a receipt for visa extension?
Has anyone tried this before, do they reject your application without receipt?

EAD Pending 125 days
anyone from Feb 2016 still waiting on their EAD approval? Filed I485, 131 and 765 together. Received at NBC 2/22/16 still no word on the EAD.

Raised 2 service requests, both were assigned to officers and yesterday on Day 125 contacted the Ombudsman office.

Notice Undelivered and returned to USCIS - form I-765
Hi there,

I am an f1 student and in the midst of applying for an EAD OPT card, USCIS mentioned that they sent me a notice about my form I765 and saying that it was returned to them. I was wondering what the issue is about because I am certain that I wrote the correct address on the application. After request for a redelivery of notice, I got a status update saying that a new card is being produced.

What does this actually mean? Is USCIS going to send me another notice and how long is it going to take? Or is USCIS going to finally send me my EAD card? If anyone has a similar experience, please do share. I am quite worried because I already received a job offer. A delay in the arrival of my EAD card might cost me my first full time job!

Thanks in advance.

EAD Card Received
I found this forum to be extremely helpful during my wait so I promised myself I would share my experience once I got my EAD card.

Here is a timeline of the process of applying to my first EAD post-completion OPT (upon graduating college).

Application Sent: April 13th, 2016

Received by office: April 18th, 2016

Notice of receipt in the mail: April 28th, 2016.

From then onwards my status was: My Case Has Been Received.

Graduation: May 6th, 2016.

We've ordered a new card: June 15th, 2016

We've mailed your new card to address you gave us: June 20th, 2016

Card in the mail delivered by Priority Mail: June 23rd, 2016.

(Total of 66 Days since application was received)

Thing to notice: I put my start date as May 15th, 2016 in my application, I was concerned that I was waiting as my time was running. However, UHCIS accounted for wait time and gave me a start date of June 15th, 2016 (when card was ordered) so that's good news!

Good luck to everyone waiting for their cards! It will come eventually just hang in there!
