Hi guys,
Thank you for sharing your interview experiences. This forum is being very helpful throughout my visa journey. Now it is finally my time to contribute back.
Type: EBC1
Priority date: Aug/2017 (not current at the time of the interview)
I-140 approved in Jul/2018
Recently switched jobs (AC21)
Interview Notice: 10/18/2018
Interview Date: 11/27/2018 12:15
IO called my name at 12:40
Time spent on the interview: ~ 40 min
Field Office: Baltimore
IO called on my name. IO was very polite and welcoming. She apologized for the delay (25 minutes).
Took an oath, pictures, and biometrics for my wife (dependent) and I (primary). Then started confirming the application forms, mainly I-485.
I’ve recently switched jobs to a similar one, I brought in a copy of the submitted Supplement J, but she didn’t requested it, she only asked me what I do and what the company does, but not in details. I briefly explained my new job and said that it is similar to my previous e job.
We prepared all the documents for the interview and brought copies of all documents. IO was very pleased that we brought copies, so that, she didn’t have to take any.
Marriage and birth certificates need to be translated to English by an official translator. Translate them in advance, since the delivery may take a few days.
Also, try to get your IRS transcript in advance, I couldn’t get mine here
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript, but luckily my wife could and since we filed it jointly, we could get the transcripts through her login. In case you can’t log in like me, you can ask the IRS to mail you, but it might take a couple of days.
We handed over: EADs, marriage certificate, travel history, pay stubs (for both of us), passports, employment verification later, updated medicals and tax transcripts. We didn't give any document IO didn't ask us to.
IO told us she would recommend our case for approval and hand it over to another department, which would take the final decision.
She gave us a standard letter saying to contact USCIS if we don’t get any update in 120 days.
