Just got 485 approval notice and the status changed to "Card was mailed" on Nov 30.
I had GC interview in NY few days ago. I did not get on-spot approval which made me very anxious for the past few days. Right after the interview, I kept checking the status on the app, literally every few minutes till midnight. I had to take sleeping pills because of my anxiety worsened.
The waiting is taxing. At some point I was wondering why I need to go through all the process.
I spent a huge portion of my life fighting for this identity, I paid sh*t tons of tax to the country and made contribution to my company and the society, yet the process seemed so hostile to me.
Anyway, I feel relieved after seeing the notice, and hopefully can completely end the journey soon by receiving the card. I feel thankful, for all the help along the way - the information I got here and there, consultation from people. I would like to share my experience and hopefully could help more people.

485 Approved End of Novemver
To prepare the interview, I went all the length forl the documents. The followings are the most important ones:
1. Birth Certificates ( translation and notary)
2. Diploma and transcripts - B.A, M.A ( translation and notary if necessary)
3. All the USCIS documents - I20, CPT, OPT, etc
4. Employ Letter and latest paid checks
5. Passports and travel history
6. Tax transcripts from IRS, W2s
7. Medical exam (make sure its not expired, if you are not sure. Do it again)
I printed out I-140 and 485 application materials, copies of the above documents, and organized them into four folders - one for originals, one for copies ( in the same order of the originals folder), one for I-140, one for 485. I went through all the documents at least 10 times, so I could pull out relavent documents immediately if asked. My lawyer who accompanied me was impressed by how organized I was.
The process is full of uncertainty, the only thing we have control on is preparing the interview materials. Better safe than sorry. Get all the documents even if they are just 1% relevant. Whenever I received a notice from USCIS, I scanned it and store in cloud storage immediately. Everything could happen and you need to be prepared. The interviewers might be nice and forgiving but don't rely on it.
At the interview, be confident that you can bring value to the country and worth the PR.
After the interview, distract yourself from it and wait patiently.
May GC be with you!
