Interview in LA
Does anybody here can share their interview experience in LA area?
I had my interview last Friday 03/23. Everything was straight forward. IO asked me about the i-485, job duties, my school I attended. After that short interview, he told me at the end that he cannot grant me the approval at the moment and he needs to review more of his notes and my case.
He even ask me and my lawyer if we have any questions for him. My lawyer just asked how long should we wait for the decision and IO said that give him 3 weeks to check the case.
Is this a normal process? I'm kind of worried and thinking if there should be more RFE to come.

Here is my timeline:
I-140 approved on 10/31/2016
I-485/EAD/AP received on 12/19/2016
EAD/AP approved on 03/03/2017
I-485J received on 08/08/2017 (due to changing company)
first SR raised on 10/17/2017 and got answer on 11/16/2017 my case is in line to be reviewed by an officer
EAD/AP renewal received on 12/14/2017
second SR raised on 01/26/2018 and got answer on 02/06/2018 my case is under review
Got RFE for MED renewal on 02/15/2018
RFE response received on 02/27/2018
Card is being produced on 03/20/2018
card is mailed on 03/22/2018
GC received on 03/24/2017

Original docs for Bachelors missing
Hi,
I have a question on the original degree certificates. I do not have the original diploma and transcript from my Bachelors(non-US). I do have the original transcripts and diploma from my Masters (US).
Does I/O always asks to see the original educational documents for employment based GC interview? Any thoughts or idea on this?

have you guys notice the new processing time for NCS , they are processing JUNE 2016 files for I485
and mentioned no SR until you case is before that,

Eb1 India interview
Hi
My status changed to “ your case is ready to be scheduled for an employment based interview” today
Given the retrogression for EB1 India will the interview happen or have to wait till date becomes current?

How long after “Your I485 Case is Ready for Interview”
Hi,
Finally I got an update few minutes ago. The update says:
“we are ready to schedule your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS xxxx for an interview...”.
I am in Alabama and my category is EB2 NIW. I applied in TSC.
How long usually it takes to receive the interview date after this update?
Please share your experiences.

Advance Parolle travel vs Visa stamping
This is my situation
Stamped L1 / L2 (for me and my family) Visa expired - November 2016
Extended L1 / L2 while in US and have extension till November 2018. I94 valid till November 2018, but no stamping in passport
I485 applied and got EAD / AP on January 2018 valid till January 2019
Due to a family emergency my wife need to travel to home country. Options are
==> Stamping again and this will take 6 weeks or so due to queue
==> enter with EAD / AP
Quesitons
1. which of above option is preferred
2. if she enters using EAD / AP, I am planning to extend my L1 again this May. Will be OK to extend he L2 also or is it disallowed since she entered by Advance parolle

Card received (however status on USCIS site is still ‘Interview is scheduled’) 23-Mar-18
Interview experience -
- My wife and I had different interview slot. My wife had 7.15 AM EST and my daughter and I had 8.15 AM EST. However, lady at the counter told us as we are family she is setting up interview together.
• IO started with Oath, Photos, Finger prints ( I had not appointed any attorney, I don’t think it was required)
• IO asked me and my wife – DL, Passport and interview letter
• Verified new medical report (my originally submitted medical report was expired, but I had taken new one, even though it was not specifically mentioned and not received any RFE still I had done it newly, this was important and needed)
• Asked me about my legal name, DOB, birth place, current address and phone number
• Then he asked me same details for my spouse and daughter
• Then he repeated same questions to my wife and daughter
• Asked all Yes/No question from form I-485 to all of us and tick marked on the form
• Asked about my company, how long I am working, job duties and few question from my EB1 letter
• Asked about name of my reporting project managers and tick marked on the EB1 letter
• Verified birth certificates (My daughter had original birth certificate but my wife and I had affidavit from India along with other supporting documents)
• Verified W2 and tax returns (I had latest W2 and return from last year. I had not completed return for this year but, I would recommend to do it)

i485 status after contacting the congressman
Dears,
I just got a response from The Congressman's office that they contacted USCIS on behalf of me
and here is the response :
"Your application Form I-485 is currently in the background check unit"! What does it mean?
I know that the background check happens at the beginning when you file I-485 case and before getting any benefits like EAD/AP
Does this means the application is still pending since I got the EAD?AP?
Or
This is the final background check before processing the case or before scheduling an interview?
I appreciate your suggestions and answers.
