did he use national pasaport to enter home country or used rtd to enter ?

He used his home country passport, I asked him , he told me that he didn't use RTD because the officers in the airport would know that he is asylee and they'd ask him why he traveled to his home country

Yes it's possible, but it's not by your choice. USCIS decides either to use your previously captured fingerprints or to ask you for fresh one

No update after the fingerprints done on Feb 28, 2020. I tried to expedite the case because of the humanitarian basis but they straight forwardly denied it without requesting any documentation.

Same situation. I had my fingerprints done on February 9 since then nothing . I received an email about 2 weeks ago stating that they have taken an action on my case but I guess it was a glitch because nothing ever updated online.
