Help with previous H1B questions while scheduling an appointment
i am going for 1st first time stamping to Mumbai, completed the ds 160 and now scheduling the appointment.
while on next page i see series of questions that are making me sweat, can someone please help if you were in similar situation -
1) Do you have previous h1b visa? -
Case Summary - I got my 1st H1B in 2016 for 1 year, after applying for extension i got denied and applied again in Feb 2018 and recently got approved till end of 2018.
what should my answer be for above question ?
if i select YES for question 1) the next question comes - was your prior visa annotated clearance received or department authorized ? - what should be the answer for this question- (YES/NO)
if i select No for question 1) the next question comes " have you ever been refused h1b visa before?
--- what should be my answer for this if my extension was denied in 2017 and i re-applied the extension in 2018 to get approved for 6 months.
--- Answer should be (YES/NO)
-------when selected NO for this question - i get next question "Did your most recent application for a H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) result in you being issued the visa?"
---- YES i assume ?
-------when selected yes for above question - i get next question "Is your previous H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) still valid?"
---- NO i assume ?
---- When selected NO for above question - i get next question " Did your previous H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) expire within the last 12 months?"

Suggestion for first time H1B visa stamping
After reading almost all the recent visa interview experience,I am really scared for going for my 1st H1B stamping.
I have very differenr case then what I read on almost all recent experience.
My H1B got picked up when I was on CPT with X company and later on I got laid off from X company and also get the RFE
on my H1B.
Meanwhile I also applied for the OPT to be on safe side and got offer letter from Y company
and joined the company on my OPT and solved the RFE as well and got the approval of H1B.
Then later on put the H1B transfer application, then again got the RFE abd somehow managed to solve that RFE.
Now its time to go for the visa stamping.
Let me know if anybody has any suggesstion or advice to share.
Also, which place should be good for the stamping
India(Home country) or Canada?

H1b Planning for Stamping in Hyd
I am planning to go for visa interview in July'18 at Hyderabad. My last stamping expired in Sep 2015, so I am not eligible for dropbox and also it was through a different employer in London(employer A). I moved to Employer B in Dec 2013 and working at Federal client and have approved petition until Nov 2019. I am working on EVC model from Dec 2013 in the same location/ client. I have the required client and vendor letter and will be carrying for interview and the project is funded until July 2019. And as far as the wage is concern - I am on level 3 wage.
My concern is:
1) I did my bachelors in Mechanical engineering but working in IT industry from last 12 years, will this be an issue during the visa interview and how do I justify..
2) recent trend shows most of people getting 221g, so what are the chances of getting 221g in my case and how long does it take to clear.

H1b interview at chennai
Attended H1b interview at chennai on 05/14/18.
VO asked basic questions like who do you work for, did you switch companies and a little about spouse visa and finally said I will get passport back within a week.
No 221 slip, status is AP last updated yesterday.
Anyone in similar situation with no 221 and still waiting ?

221 G - 35 days now - No update- Passport returned during interview- H1 @Chennai
Its been 35 days since my interview, My passport and documents were returned. No updates in my case since the date of interview.
VO asked me basic questions, employer name, highest degree, salary, marital status and place of work. Took copies of I797, Client letter, vendor letter, LCA and I129 and handed me 221 G with second option checked.
Missed my flight already, scared might get fired.
Anyone with the 221 G case where passport was returned during interview? How long did it take?
Is it a different case when passport is retained and a different one when passport is retained.

Stamping in Hyderabad
Hi, my spouse and I are planning to go to Hyderabad and our visa is valid till 2019. We need to go for stamping. He recently changed his company as FTE and all visa documents for him and mine are approved. His I-140 was approved by the previous employer for this company they said we need some time to start the process. Can you please help me out that is it a good idea to go to India or god forbid do we face any problem.

H1b 221g how long is the wait time?
Went for h1b stamping on april 9th and i was asked some pretty basic questions but i was given a 221g because they wanted to do a background check. Now its been over a month and i have gotten no response. They didn't ask for any documents and my passport was collected at the interview. Btw the consulate was Chennai and i got a blue slip

POE Experience
Anybody travelled recently to USA from India without having issue at POE.
Past two times no issues in my stamping, on my third stamping I waited for 4 months to complete background check such as client verification. During my arrival after my 3rd stamping, no questions asked at POE.
I am still having valid visa, plan to visit India in this summer. Just wanted to check…

need a quick help in filling dS160. My spouse is currently in US on h1B and i have recieved my L1B individual petition. Need help on below questions-
1)-Do you have any immediate relatives in US- Do i need to mention my spouse here.
2) if yes, next question comes about address- should I put his permanent India address or the address he is currently present in US?
3) I work for Financial services company. What do I put in Profession? Enginerring or Computer Science or Other/IT?
