they kept the passport.
checked today may 12th and it is still in administrative processing
not sure how long it would take to get the passport?

Ahmedabad consulate H1b dropbox exp
Hello Everyone,
I follow this sire for a lot of reasons and tracking on some of the experiences is one of them.
So i am sharing mine, hope to help.
This is my h1b renewal + change of employer dropbox ahmedabad consulate exp
timelines:
May 1 : Documents were submitted.
May 3: case was created
May 4: went on review
May 11: Issued
Documents asked: 2 photos, I797 recent , dropbox confirmation letter, passport Old + New
Fortunately VFS wasn't crowded , i went around 1PM on a summer day , it was hot as hell outside.
Only one window was open and the lady was nice to greet and respond to your questions properly.
I was told to check the status in 2-3 days , it usually changes by then.
My take: Although my timeline may be longer compare to other experiences, I am happy as dropbox saved me money of going to Mumbai and staying there for a day and going through the pain of interview and defending your legal status again. It is definitely helpful. Anyhow, bring all of your documents with you, you never know when will you need it.

I was following this forum prior to my visa interview which had helped me tremendously to crack my visa interview. Sorry for the delay.
Me, my wife and my 10 month old kid went to India. Below are our experiences.
My interview was on March 12th (finger prints) & March 13th (Visa Interview) @ HYD consulate.
Below were the questions:
1) Who is your end client
2) Where do you live and what is your pay
3) Roles and responsibilities
4) Highest degree
5) For how long are you working for this client
Visa was approved and got my passport after 5 days.
My wife was eligible for drop box so she did not attend the interview along with me.
- We dropped her documents on March 20th at the VAC office
- Received an email from "[email protected]" on March 22nd to come for fingerprints and Visa Interview which was scheduled on April 20th 2018.
- Attended the interview on April 20 and received 221G white slip in which it was told that we need more time to process your application (AP).
->Questions Asked:-
1) Did you got transferred from F2 - H4?
2) What is your current status?
3) How long you know your Spouse?
4) Why did not you attend the interview with your spouse?
5) How old is the baby and is she a US citizen? (She tool our baby with her)
- Received email from USTravelDocs on May 7th that her passport is ready for pick up but the status in CEAC site was still AP.
- Went to collect the passport on May 7th and again they gave her another 221 G asking her for a new passport because he name on the passport was strike through.(Note that she got stamped twice in the same consulate in past, once for F2 visa and next time was for H4 visa, no problem those two times but this time they gave G221 saying "Passport is no longer Valid". VERY STRANGE)
- So currently we are planning to add my name in her passport which would give her a new passport and then drop the old and new passport in the VAC office along with the 221G document submission form.
Anyone out there with issues with passport, be careful. I personally think they are just looking for a reason(no matter how dumb that is) to delay the process.

H1b stamping hyd
Hello All, I have been following this forum as I have my h1b stamping interview on may 14 and thought of asking some questions as it might be helpful. I graduated in dec 2012 and got job right after graduation as direct full time employee working out of employee location and no end clients . I was working as asoftware engineer from Jan 2013. I was on first opt from dec 2012 to dec 2013. I was on opt extension from dec 2013 to may 2015, however I got h1b picked up in lottery in 2014 and my h1b started from October 2014. I moved to another company b in Jan 2015 and even this is a direct hire full time employee and no end clients or vendors. Since Jan 2015 I have been with company b and they also filed for my h1b extension. Now my second term h1b is from 2018 Jan to 2020 nov. while I was on opt , opt ext and first term h1b I did not visit India and there fore no h1b stamping. Now my question is that the stamping interview I am attending on may 14, is it h1b stamping or h1b renewal stamping as this is my second h1b term. And recently there have been a lot of rfe’s so I am not sure if this long gap in h 1b stamping would cause me a trouble. My 3rd question is do I have to carry org structure and project documentation to the interview as I am a full time direct employee. Any comments would be helpful

Withdrawing H1 Petition
Hi,
I am an international student needing some advice on travelling outside the US. Here is my current situation –
I am working on my OPT (F1 student visa)
My company applied for H1B petition this year and my application was picked up in the lottery. I think it’ll be effective from October onward once appoved.
But I am planning to leave my company in coming June and join another University in August for graduate school.
I was told that my OPT would end as soon as I transfer my i-20 to my new university so I waiting until June to leave my company and then transfer my SEVIS and i-20 record from current to new University.
My question is – Can I travel to India in July (after leaving my company and before joining my new graduate school)? I would have transferred my i-20 by then so I’ll have the new i-20 from new University to enter the country. I understand that having new i-20, I shouldn’t face any problem entering US but I am afraid that having my name in H1B petition has made it trickier. Under the petition, I am asking USCIS to convert my F1 to H1B so technically my F1 is no longer acceptable to re-enter the country, is that true?

H4 visa with incorrect Primary Applicant Details
1 May - applied for visa stamping for my H1B and my wife H4 in India, Kolkata dropbox. on
4th May - Visa issued
7 May - picked up both visa .
I noticed that my wife's H4 has correct Principal Applicant Name; however, it has company's name something other than mine and a different primary applicant petition number other than what I mentioned in DS 160 . My H1B has all the correct details. It appears that the consulate has put details of another primary applicant (my namesake) on my wife's H4 visa.
Please advise what should I do in this situation? Can my wife travel to US on that visa. We are in India right now and have return flight for this Wednesday, 9th May.

221-G White slip-Case status updated twice

I did peruse my Masters and came back for my H1 Stamping.
I did attend for visa interview on April 18th 2018 .VO posed me 3 questions:
1)who is your employer?
2)Do you work for your employer or end client?
3)Location of your client?
He asked me to wait for 10 mints and he was typing something and lastly he gave me whit slip 221-G and asked me to email the specified documents to mentioned email address and said you application is put on Administrative check and gave back my passport.
I did email my employer and requested to send me the documents which i need to email as per VO and did update my client about the process.
I did email the documents to the given email address on 23rd April'18 and received confirmation.
I did follow up with my manger last week and he said he didn't receive any call or email from anyone about my assignment.
The case last update was changed twice i.e, on 30th April'18 and 03 May'18.
Can anyone please help me with your experiences
Do I need to contact or call any one to know about the updates done on my AC

Day1 3/5/18- Biometric
My appointment was scheduled for 1 pm but I reached at 12 pm and directly went for biometric. It was really smooth process. Everything was done within 10 min.
Day 2 4/5/18 - The Interview
I went 30 min before to my interview. It was long queue there outside. We were made to wait till my appointment time in that queue.
Questions Asked
VO - HELLO
ME - GM, How are you?
VO - Im fine, What about you? Show me your Passports.
Me - I am fine
P who is your employer?
VO - who is your end client?
VO - what is your salary?
VO - what is your highest qualification?
Dependent questions
VO - How long have you been married?

VO - As my wife was working he asked her the name of her organisation.
