Confusion about trip to India
I am a doctor on H1b visa with my wife on H4 visa and I am planning to visit India on 20 December 2017. But looking at the delays in visa stamping and the fact that I only have a 5-weeks vacation, I am going to cancel my trip to India. It is unfortunate for us that the administrative delays are happening right now. We were to give the interview at Mumbai consulate in the first week of January 2018.

Can anyone with stamping experience at Mumbai consulate guide me if it is really risky to travel to India right now or am I worrying unnecessarily?

H1b Denial to H4 to H1b
Hello Team,

I need some suggestions on the current scenario.

My wife had a H1b till Oct 2017 (approved only for an year - first year), and when filed for extension - got a denial (Apr 2017). We went to India for our marriage in Jul 2017. We have filed for a new application through a prime vendor to the client in PP. Got an RFE and denied. We ought to receive the denial notice. Following are the questions:

1. What are the best possible options available for her to continue with H1b? - tentative timelines would help.

2. If she files her H4, will she be able to switch back to H1b as it is denied in the first place? (as the status were changed)

3. Her current employer wants to file L1, but she has not more than 3 years of experience & a Pharma background and a Masters in CS - How good could be the case as she is already facing 2 denials in the same year with the same client?

Thanks in advance

H1B Visa - Administrative Processing - VO Approved
Hi All,

I am in a very weird situation, would appreciate you help/advice.

I gave my interview in Hyderabad Consulate on 6th Dec. VO Approved and kept my passport. Interview was very short. No slip was given to me.
When I checked my visa status, It said it's under "Administrative Processing" and it's the same status even today. The created date hasn't changed too. I have my flight on 19th Dec. I might have to reschedule/cancel the same. Any idea how much more time will this process take?

I called/emailed them, same response! I know many of you have faced similar situation. Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

H1B stamoing interview exp at Hyderabad Consulate
Hello everyone,
I would like to thank you all for sharing your experience in detail which helped me to prepare for inteview

It was a hassle to find an appointment date, so all those who are planning to come to hyderabad on xmas book ur appts asap.

OFC - Last week of nov,2017
Interview - 12th dec 2017

The VO was very nice and well spoken.

Me: Good Morning, How you doing?
VO: Good Thanks.

VO: Who's your client ?
ME: I'm a full time employee working for xyz corporations.
/* She asked previous candidate are you a full time employee or working for some client */

VO: where do you stay in usa?
Me: answered

VO: Whats your salary?
Me: Answered

VO : Whats your highests level of education?
me : MS

VO: Where did you graduate from?
Me: I told city name by mistake.

VO: I mean Which university?
Me: Answered
/* Then I told sorry I thought you are asking from which city, on which she gave a smile and continued typing */

Then she said Your Visa is approved but will have to under some administrative processing.

She did not ask me any other documents apart from my passport, did not ask anything other questions.

I haven't received any case number nor any email from the consulate, so I'm not sure how to track the status of the case.

When I track my passport on the TRAVELDOCS website it says "your passport is in us consulate"
but cant track on case status website with just a passport number.

Any thoughts Immi Friends?

H1 and H4, H4 kid Renewal - Mumbai - Colleced PP with stamped visa
Hello everyone,

I would like thank you all who shared their experience in detail and helped me to better prepare for interview.
I'm working on EVC model with employer < 40 head count and big client.
Recently my extension was approved for 3 years with no client letter.

OFC - 4th Dec 2017
Interview - 11th Dec 2017 10:30 a.m.
Status changed to issued - 12th Dec 2017 1:00 p.m.
PP collected from VFS - 13th Dec 2017 12 p.m.

Documents asked:
- PP
- I797 approval notice.

Question asked:

- Employer location.
- Client Name and location.
- Roles and responsibilities.
- How many kids.

Final verdict: VO said your visa has been approved and due to some technical issues you will get it in 5-10 business days.

VO lady was so generous and felt like it was mere conversion. No question asked to my wife and just saw my kid.

I didn't expected the visa process to be so fast and smooth.

However, there is miss conception going on about delay in visa processing at certain centers but I guess that is not true.
As per my opinion It's all case by case and my be I'm wrong.

Once again thanks everyone!!!

H1B Stamping - Still in Administrative Processing
Hi Everyone,

One of my friend attended h1b visa stamping in Hyderabad on Dec 4th 2017. VO asked few questions on current job and experience, salary. They took passport and said we need some time for Administrative Processing and gave a case number.

Status:

Case Created: 04-Dec-2017
Case Last Updated:12-Dec-2017

Still Says: Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview.

He supposed to fly back on Dec 11th and already canceled his flight. Any inputs like how much time it is going to be take?

Thank you.

F1 stamping renewal + 221(g) + Canada
I came to Vancouver Canada for my F1 stamping renewal. I initially came to the US for a Masters and the started my PhD in the same university. I came for F1 stamping renewal and had my visa interview on December 6, 2017. I was handed the 221(g) and told to email my resume and a letter with detailed description about my area of research.
Timeline:
December 6, 8:00am: Interview at the embassy (Fingerprinting done, kept my passport and I20). Given 221g yellow form.
December 6: 12pm Submitted the 2 documents I was asked to email.
Status: Administrative Processing.
December 11: Still the same status: Administrative Processing.
Anyone who has F1 stamping experience in Canada, how long did it take?

Thanks!

I am on vacation in India and had return flight on 12/10 which I had to reschedule.
