Fresh H1B interview@Delhi Embassy
Hi All,

Firstly, thanks ton to all at immihelp to post their experiences which really helped me getting a fair idea about what to expect.

I had my interview on July 6th and got through successfully. Questions asked were:
1. Current designation
2. Role at client
And was over in few minutes.. :)

All the best to all and a suggestion to do believe in yourself.
Getting a US visa is not the ultimate aim or road to easy money/success/happiness/place your goal here, more than anything else it's our continuous effectiveness and dedication which pays.

Cheers!

Hello All,
Phase 1:
With 5+ years on same H1b visa, i went for Visa extension in Jan-2011 and was handed over 221g and then a letter from US consulate stating "they cannot issue visa due to petitioner not able to provide qualifying employment e.t.c....blah blah blah" This has been talk of town everywhere now and this letter can lead to visa revoking once sent to USCIS adn review by USCIS. Company was Desi company but with decent work and i have been working for 5+ years without any issues...Model E-V-C with client letter and all documents required.

Phase 2:
With lot of my belogings in US, i thought of trying again from another company...found a decent company who can transfer my H1 with nice package and benifits.
Went for visa interview again..Got 221g and yet to get an answer from US consulate....Model - E-C. Still got 221g eventhough direct clients.

So..Beware of New delhi and US visa stamping VO..they dont want to see any documents and just issued 221g.
Hope it helps someone and i am not here to make you afraid..

Good Luck!
Kaka

H1-B Renewal @ Chennai
Went for my 2nd H1-B stamping on 30 Jun 11am slot. Here are my details,
Model - E - C
Q's
VO. What do you do for XYZ company ?
Answered as per LCA
VO. Do you have any vendor in between ?
Answered - No. I work directly for Client
VO. What is Client business ?
Answered
VO. You previously worked for ABC ? Why did you left that job ?
Answered - Better Role and Compensation
VO. Do you have contract between your Employer and Client ?
Answered - No...BUT I have a Client letter (passing the letter to VO)
VO carefully reads the letter typing something.

VO. Your petition is not reflected in our PIMS database hence I cannot verify it.
(Hands over 221g Blue slip with NO data available in PIMS ticked)
Me - Does it means my Visa is approved ?
VO - Your Visa is approved pending PIMS verification. We can usually update the PIMS in 24 hours. So you can still receive your passport in 7 days. (Keeps my passport).

Me - Is there a way to track this ?
VO - If you don't hear from us, it means we are working on it (chuckles and hands me over VFS contact details to track my passport).
I said thank you and left.

Note - 7th July - Followed up with Chennai consulate on my passport. They said they are working on it and would take another 4-5 Business days.

Thank you all for posting your experience.

chennai consulate H4 Visa got Blue form 221 (g)
I was attended H4 interview at chennai consulate on 1st June 2011 , the VO returned the passport with a 221g blue form and said that they have to do some Administrative work. They didn't asked any documents.
When we are checking the status on the site it says the wrong case number.
How many days does it take to get displayed in the site and how many days it will take them to come out with any result.

Please give me your suggestions

Got my H1 approved in Chennai - Thanks for Immihelp
Hi everyone,

First of all thanks to all who have posted their experience.

My interview date was sheduled on 28th Jun 2011 at 10.00am. I reached at 8.45am and they were sending only 9.30am slot candidates. I was waiting near the consulate and security was calling 9.30 am scheduled persons. Then after sometime security came and said there is some problem with system and due to that there may be delay in processing. Immediately after few minutes (approx 10 mins) he called for 10.00Am slot, we went near the actual entrance of Embassy. after verifing the interview confirmation letter they made an entry and gave token after which they let us in. There was a big waiting lounge where big displays were kept to display the token number. Waited for approx 10 mins and my token number flashed along with counter number. I went to the counter and they checked for all necessary documents and arranged it and made an entry and aske me to go to next counter for ten printing, After ten printing I waited for some time and after which they allowed near the Visa Lounge. There again my token number flahsed before which I was observing all applicants answers and also the Officers nature. In counter an officer seemed to be very rude and in another counter an officer was very humourous. My token number appeared for the same counter. Before me was a husband and wife. Visa officer interviewed him and that lady and started asking very funny questions.. (to my srprise he was aksing about teir marriage, love or arranged) hearing to this my stress got releived a bit. I thought I can manage well and went to him when I was called.

Visa Officer(VO) : Good Morning Gentleman
Me :Good morning Sir
Vo: How are you
Me: Fine, How about you Sir.
Vo: Good with a big smile :-)
Vo: How long you have been working in present company
Me: Answered
Vo: What is your total years of experience
Me: Answered
Vo: Who is your client
Me: Answered
Vo: Which location will you be going
Me: Answered
Vo: What is your Highest degree
Me: Answered

He was keeping ontyping something in computer

Then the golden words came....

Vo: Thank you gentleman, your visa has been approved and it will reach you within 10 working days.

Me: Thank you Sir, Have a Good day!!!

Left the counter.
My advice is, be confident when you answer for questions. I have read many experiences in Immihelp saying Visa Ofiicers are rude, But the person who interviewed me was very kind and humourous.

Once again thanks for Immihelp and all who have posted their experiences.
