H1B -Chennai Consulate Visa Experience
An interesting day in my life. Woke up at 6 expecting everything would be good for the day. I know that it's the biggest day in my life. Just thought to read my petition and the documents attached. Read all the documents made some points highlighted such as "Who is my client?","What is the purpose of my visit?", "Job duties" and the "salary part".
So started my way towards the US consulate at 10:35 Am .Stood in the line and finally when my turn came up at the security check where the token would be given ,the paper bundle( printer) got over. Stood there for 4 mins and cursing the luck.
After that a thorough security check was done and there by entered into the main hall waiting for My token number to be displayed on the monitor. The clock ticked and my number was displayed. I went to the counter greeted the officer and submitted the docs. Again my luck laughed at me when the officer objected for the passport photo that i have given. She said that its not recent one so suggested me to take up new one. Cursed the luck for the second time.
Took the photo and submitted it to the Verification officer.The officer then asked me to go to the other building where the interview would take place. Had some cool water in the hot summer and then went to the building for the final shot.
My number was displayed on the monitor and there the real exam started.
Wished the consulate officer with a pleasant smile. She also greeted me and asked for the documents.
Then the Questions followed.
@Whats the purpose of the Visit?
@Who is your last employer?
@Whats the term of your employment with the last employer and the present one?
@What is the nature of the job with the last employer?
@Who is your client?
Finally, the Golden Words Came " Congratulations , your Visa has been approved."
I thank the officer and rushed myselves to catch up the train..

H1b Visa stamping - Chennai Consulate
I attended the interview April 19th. Have not heard from the consulate but on calling them yesterday they said I should hear from them in 2 weeks. Has anyone else heard this answer? If so, did you hear from them in the said time?

Hi Guys,
I attended for the visa interview on 17th, March, 2011. I got H1 extension in USA and came to INDIA. I wasn't confident infront of VO officer though I worked more than 2 years with out gap. VO asked questions as given below.
1. Explain about your company's nature of work?
Ans. Explained.
2. You work at client location or in in-house project?
Ans. Client
3.Do you have client letter?
Ans. No. I didn't get the letter. So, if it is required I can submit it later.
4. When can you submit the letter?
Ans. In 2 week's time.
He issued a 221(g) yellow form for client letter and an agreement letter between my employer and the client.

I submitted docs on 30th March, 2011 at VFS, Hyderabad.
I had to wait for more than 2 months to get the response from USCIS.

On 3rd, June, 2011, received a mail to drop my passport. So I submitted on the next day.
Finally I got visa stampped on 14th June, 2011 :).
So guys who are attending for the visa interview, please be confident and give answers very clearly. You will get it. Only confident matters.

H1 B Interview in Hyderabad

I am a full time employee. So no client letter business. Be clear in what you say. They are catching some points and asking to explain them
Thats all Visa approved and you should get it in a weeks time. Dont say all BS.. golden words , silver words and all those crap. They are issuing visa for your work. So please be confident and get the visa if not there are many opportunities in India itself. Dont beg/plead for your visa. Good Luck guys and Enjoy your stay in India if you get visas

i came to JFK NY and the port of entry was looking very tough when people who travelled with you got their visa's rejected.
i was asked to go to a counter and after a long line of more than 40 people was my turn. i showed officer my old visa and told her that my new visa of same kind is ready and requested her to consider new visa for my i94 DATES. she looked @ the papers and asked me your petition says you will work as Programmer analyst but your offer says Quality Analyst, i explained her when visa is getting filed the roles are buckets in 3 like Programmer analyst DBA etc, my role fits into Programmer analyst and showed her my offer letter from employer.
she asked me your visa is from May and your cmoing in JUne i told her Madam i culdnt travel due to family issues, she granted the visa with new visa dates on I94.
Guyz have all your papers ready, read them well have clarity be clear and be prepared to see things from Officer's end and question yourself; answer right, GUD LUCK TO ALL.

H1B visa interview chennai for extension 3rd time
Reached in front of the consulate 8:15 for 8:45. allowed me at 8:30.
Waiting in the document verification queue. document verified. photo failed. (background color was not good.)
Then after fixing the photo issue, went to the document verification again.
After verification, moved to the consulate officer. it was a quick iterview no waiting time.

CS: Can i see your daughters proof of id.

3. What are you going to do ?
- Answer should be simple and clear. I will be working as **** **** **** for **** *** company for **** * project.

7. Have you read the white pamphlet here?

--- Its about the rights for an non immigrant visa holder like me.
The Officer has started handing over my documents from 4th question onwards.I am confident that the visa has been approved. Pls do read the H1B pamphlet before you go to interview. Since I had refusal history I was worried about it, but he has not brought up that point at all. So don't worry. I wish all the best for you. Good luck.

H1B - got Yellow Slip for Damaged Passport
Hi there,
I went for H1b stamping at Delhi consulate on 26-May.
The Visa Office told me that everything looks fine but my Passport is damaged. VO asked me to get my passport renewed and drop it at any VFS location. He also gave me Yellow Slip and marked the damaged passport check box.
I got my passport renewed and I gave my both (old and new) passports at VFS center on 8-June.
Can someone please tell me that how long does it take to get the Passport back. At present when I try to track my passport it says its under process.
