H1B, H4 Visa

Hi Flock,

I Have one question can any body reply me back with correct solution. i got visa in november 2007. after that my hubby got h4. at present i am in michigan got job all going well but unfortunately this time my husband missed to apply h1.he has h4 on h4 we are not able to work here.and still 1 year to wait for next h1.
is there any way(means l1 or non profit organizations) to come work here. please suggest me.......

      Recently I went to Delhi consolate, My visa is refused under 221(g) , I got a green form, asking for additional documents. They asked me to drop the documents listed in window#5 of delhi consulate. They asked for only photocopy of passport not original one along with some more documents. Are there are any chances of getting visa after providing the listed documents. Can anybody has the same experience?

My wife is going to attend he interview for her H4 on May 9th. I would like know whethe I need to send my original pay stubs or I can just send a xerox copy of them. And also I would like know what does a W2 document mean. Is it a offer letter from my employer?

I have attended for my H1b on 14th November 2006 at Chennai. They have given me 221(g) asking additional documents. The additional documents they asked is that "A letter from the personannel department of the site where you are going to work". Does this mean they have asked for Client letter. My consultant said that i am going to work at his location and he won't be able to get me any client letter. Can anyone help me in this regard.

So my employer has sent a letter on his letterhead saying that i am going to work at his location. Does this suffice?

Hi to all the AIMBITIOUS guys/galls out there...

Please dont worry abt anything... Let me give me my views on how to get urself prepared to the interview(WHICH I DID)

STEP 1: DONT BE IN A HURRY IN BOOKING THE DATES..we have waited patiently for more than 6 to 8 months to process, so no harm in booking a date which is really convinient in all aspects.BEFORE BOOKING THE DATE.. SEE TO THAT U HAVE GOT ALL THE DOCUMENTS FROM THE EMPLOYER..

STEP 2: DOUCMENTS...EMPLOYER DOCUMENTS IN USA, CURRENT EMPLOYEMENT DETALS, EDUCATIONAL DETAILS AND UR CARREER DETAILS, PHOTOS OF UR CURRENT AND UR EMPLOYER IN US,NOT TO FORGET UR PASSPORT AND HDFC FORMS. These are the set of documents you have to keep it.

STEP 3: ACCESSORIES. BUY A GOOD FILE AND PLACE ALL THE DOCUMENTS IN A PARTICUALR ORDER AND REMEMBER THEM HOW U HAVE KEPT ..so that its easy to give the VO.

STEP 4: OUTFIT. BE CASUAL . THAT WILL DO.

STEP 5:FACILITY. use VFS facility to go to interview they take u in a bus from their office to CONSULATE. They also provide u some snacks and staying facilities. THIS I AM SAYING BECAUSE U DONT HAVE TO STAND IN LONG QUES UNDER THE SUN.. IT MADE ME TIRED.

MY EXPERIENCE...

MY day was HOT .. The interview was at 2.00 pm i went at 12.30 and stayed in que under the sun till 3.00 (almost 2.30 hrs)... VERY HOT GUYS.

But with the VO.. cool... just a minute discussions , some basic questions abt the company in usa, company here, and my educational qualifications.

then the words we love to here.. " UR VISA IS APPROVED U CAN COLLECT IT FROM THE OFFICE OR IT WILL BE MAILED TO U IN 2 DAYS"

Guys.. its not that hard as u think . If u have all the documents thats it.. say a pleasent hi and answer to them casuallly. They are good.

Most importantly i like to thnk this site.. for the good job its doing... "HATS OFF TO U GUYS".

First of all I would like to say Thank You to this site from the bottom of my heart as I got tremendous amount of info regarding H1 from here, Kudos to you guys!!!.

Coming back to my experience, I got the docs from my employer in the first week of April, and when i went through the vfs site for the appointment but it was showing dates of 15th May and after wards, so i had made a plan to book for 15th @ mumbai. After filling the forms (156,157) luckily there was a slot open on 24th April, i just took it, and got the slot for 8.15AM.

On the D-Day, i reached the consulate @ 7 AM, my personal recommendation to all future applicants is to opt for the Lounge service by paying 200Rs. It is worth because after paying the money, it is there responsibility to send us to the visa office and at the right time. Coz it will be really painful to stand in the queue without any kind of amenities(water, toilets, shelter), and i saw many people coming directly at the office with their luggage and waiting for hours in the Mumbai heat for their turn.

Coming back to the topic,at the entrance showed the interview letter to the security guard, and then again we have to show the interview letter at the counter inside the office,there u have to pay the 200 rs. for the lounge service.

Then another guard will check all your stuff, and mind you, you are not allowed even a digital watch(like my case), luckily they give u a locker facility where u can keep ur valuables, well then at the lounge, we were informed that the vfs is running 15-20 min. late, so i had my complimentary snacks(sandwich & coffee), and at around 8.15, they called all the people who have booked for 8.15 slots, then v got into the bus, and after 5 min. v reached the vfs consulate , they immediately made us stand in the queue directly at the entrance, after waiting for another 15 min. we were allowed to go inside, inside there was again a security check, there they will check each & every thing that you have brought, they will even check ur wallet, and you will have to take out the coins and the belt and then pass through a scanning machine.

Then i went inside the office, and there were around 14 counters working on that day, inside there are vfs people who will guide you to which documents are required and then after collecting my DS-156, 157 along with my I797 and PP and the pink token, and i was immediately sent for the finger print check, there was no queue.

After that i was waiting for my turn, and after around 10 min. i was called at the counter number 6. we were around 5 guys and a couple that were called. A gorgeous lady of around 25-30yrs was there. There were 2 guys & a couple ahead of me and they were all granted a visa that too in a couple of minutes.

She called me when my turn came, the lady already had my DS -156,157, PP & 797 with her.

Me: Good Morning(with a smile, my heart was pounding)
VO: Good Morning
VO: What is the Name of the Company
Me: answered
VO: What? , how do you pronounce it?
Me: Explained her,
VO: OK
VO: How many employees are working in the company?
Me: Answered
VO: How much salary are they offering you
Me: Answered
VO: How did they find you?
Me: I had posted my resume on some job portals, from there they found me, and they took 3 rounds of telephonic interview.
VO: How much experience you have ?
Me: I have 2 years of Software Experience.
VO: OK,here's your petition(797), and then the Golden words.....

"YOUR VISA IS APPROVED, AND YOUR PASSPORT WILL BE SENT TO YOU IN 3 DAYS"

I was like what??, she didnt ask for a single document not even related to my Employer,Education,previous Company nothing. I didnt even had to open my file for anything.

I was initially tensed because i didnt had any photos of my employer nor any tax papers.

All this took less than 1 minute. Thats it !!!!

I left the place immediately coz I didnt want to give her a chance to call me back(my relative had an experience, where he was called back and then his visa was rejected),


In the evening I went to the office to collect my passport, there also a long queue. And here also guys you are not allowed anything, only a photocopy of your Pink HDFC receipt along with the original, and interview letter copy, so dont bring any bags here. I got my passport that day itself.

ONCE AGAIN I THANK THIS SITE FOR THE VALUABLE INFO. THAT WAS PROVIDED.

last week i had sent my documents through vfs bangalore.With the grace of The Almighty, today everything went well, and i am on top of teh world today. Thank God and all you friends.
So my friends dont worry for 221g u will get ur visa if u submit the required additional documents by the consulate.

I was given AAP in March'06 yes mar'06 and till now I've heard nothing from the consulate.PLz lemme know if anyone is of the same situation and I did mail to consulate regarding the status of my application and they said u gotto wait until the administrative proceiing is complete.

I have recived the 221(g) blue form twice. After dropping all the documents now i have received an other blue form mentioning additional administrative processing.
Do any of you have any idea like how long is the process.And is there any one who has got their stamping succesfully after Addiitionl administrative processing.
